To think mask wearing is going to wear thin before long ?

I’ve already noticed people starting to flag in Scotland. In Tesco today I was bored shitless doing the weekly shop and counting 20 people with masks on Chins and under noses. Kids using them as hankies 🤢. I heard also the government might be advising glove wearing. I imagine this is going to start to become very impractical for some people and they’ll just not bother / or bother going out. My DH is exempt from mask wearing and he went out without today expecting some comments but not a peep from anyone! Also the one way aisles have been removed too meaning more folk all crammed in to a small space not socially distant. I overheard a couple saying “ what’s the point wearing masks when we are so close anyway?”

Just went to a local shop. Group of teenage boys outside hanging about, any time they went into the shop they didn’t have masks and the staff didn’t tell them to put one on. So I assume that’s similar around the country.

You don’t have to wear them outside.
@LittleBearPad there have been 50 incidents of abuse against disabled people since mask wearing became mandatory on public transport. They are more at risk.
This is also appalling - some people are arseholes

I live in Hong Kong, where mask-wearing is essentially mandatory and has been for months now. Its currently 33 degrees and 80% humidity. While nobody would argue that the masks are comfortable, everyone just gets on with it. I find the sheer strength of anti-mask sentiment quite bewildering.

This - well, not the I live in Hong Kong bit,but what is wrong with the UK?
Why can't we cope with this - plenty of other countries do. And from what I have seen children in asian countries wear masks, and in school, yet we think our children would never cope. Why?

MsMonkey

No they aren't. Lots of people are not wearing them in shops.”

Haven’t seen one who isn’t where we are (small town, North West). Lots of people on the streets are too.
