What grown adult would wear this?

Why would you even model it?!

Fitted sheet chic?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 20/07/2020 14:15

Yes it does look like the model got fed up making the bed one day and decided to wear the fitted sheet instead.

This is the shell suit. You may buy one and wear one and tell yourself it looks amazing because it’s in fashion but you will be denying all knowledge of it in 2 years time.

halcyondays · 20/07/2020 14:16

My first thought was Anne of Green Gables, just shows that everything comes back in fashion again if you wait long enough.

I might have worn this if I was young enough but it would look daft on anyone my age.

Tigger03 · 20/07/2020 14:21

I wouldn’t wear it personally but it looks perfectly nice on the ‘real people’ wearing it

Hmmm the sleeves don’t look so poofy on real people.

That model is incredibly skinny though....the dress drowns her and she looks like she could sleep in the sleeves

Currently on sale at Moschino. Nothing surprises me now....

PixelatedLunchbox · 20/07/2020 14:25

I'd wear that dress.
If I were 6 years old and headed to a birthday party. Cake

Queenest · 20/07/2020 14:25

Looks like a child’s bed valance from the eighties

SuperStay7 · 20/07/2020 14:25

My general rule of thumb is that if something looks hideous on a gazelle-like 19 yr old model, there is no chance of it looking alright on the rest of us.

This dress is a perfect example.

Brefugee · 20/07/2020 14:28

it's like the early 80s fashion. it's cute on the target audience. The rest of us? not so much

oakleaffy · 20/07/2020 14:28

Absolutely hideous! Sort of 1980's resurrected...Vast puffy sleeves...but the awry dress that Beckam created is beyond hideous...looks like a person made it while 🥴, and the hem is all of centre and on the slosh... Ghastly grim ...💯

Soubriquet · 20/07/2020 14:29

Omg @damnthatanxiety

GrinGrinGrin

Are we all sure we aren’t in the hunger games universe...cos that’s the sort of fashion they would wear in the capital Grin

That style actually looks really stylish in person. Check out 40notfrumpy on Insta for some styling ideas.

oakleaffy · 20/07/2020 14:29

Edit : ''Hem is all off-centre''

damnthatanxiety · 20/07/2020 14:31

and that price is for the top only Grin

VerbenaGirl · 20/07/2020 14:31

My very fashion savvy teen is very scathing about these too.

Oh well, if a teen doesn’t like it, let’s all bow down to her pearls of wisdom. From what I see around me, they’re the last people I’d be taking fashion advice from.
Soubriquet · 20/07/2020 14:38

£605 just for the top?!

CandidaAlbicans2 · 20/07/2020 14:42

LOL, what the fuck is that! Shock Grin Just awful

CandidaAlbicans2 · 20/07/2020 14:43

Yes! Grin

Tardigrade001 · 20/07/2020 14:50

The white version would look nice on a beach.
The black could be nice for going out in the summer, somewhere hot.
The beige is confusing.
Not sure that shade of pink actually suits anyone. It must exist solely to prove some kind a fashion point.

GCAcademic · 20/07/2020 14:52

I’m glad other posters have mentioned Villanelle. The first thing I thought when I saw that picture was “it looks like a pound shop Villanelle outfit”!

Diverseopinions · 20/07/2020 14:53

It's part of a New Romantic revival, by the look of it. The way to wear it is obviously as the model is affecting: as if you've accidentally leaned against a dress being dried on a washing line and you aren't particularly aware that you are dressed in it. You certainly aren't trying to look like a princess, as your frown suggests.

AndromedaPerseus · 20/07/2020 14:53

I wouldn’t wear that now that I’m over 50 and more than a size 10 but my younger self would. It’s similar to the puffball skirt phase my teenage self wore in 80s when I’m sure I looked great

What the fuck is this fashion?!!!
Brefugee · 20/07/2020 14:53

Diana’s wedding dress will be reappearing before we know it!

PLEASE NO! it ushered in the era of Taffeta. Puffball skirts. Taffeta LBDs as far as the eye can see. And all those Black velvet upper parts with a v-neckline and blue shiny sticky out taffeta. I am having flashbacks to my school leaving ball. I need a lie down.
