Eh? Its 3 drops of oil, diluted in water and spread over about 25 wipes. Makes them smell nice. Its not obligatory and it doesn't do the baby any harm whatsoever.

4-5 drops of pure essential oils in a tiny bit of water?

I don’t know if I’m missing something... but why wouldn’t it be allowed?

They're also really clear that advice is to use water only if you have a newborn.

It’s not a tiny bit of water, it’s a full plastic box - at least a litre.

We use these - it’s a tiny bit of oil in a big box of water over 24 wipes. What’s the problem?

The issue is essential oils cannot be diluted in water.

Its not a tiny bit of water, its around 650ml (I just measured it) and that's 0.2 drops of oil per wipe. Have you seen whats in prepackaged disposable wipes?

Sounds like a good idea to me! The right essential oils are great to use in that way. I have washable wipes which I use in a similar way.

There are a handful of essential oils which arent suitable for baby skin (because they are skin irritants and babies have sensitive skin) but there are plenty which are totally fine.

Also, for newborns they did tell you to just use water.

The only thing I can think is that the oils come with a bit of detergent in them, so they will disperse in the water for long enough to be absorbed by the wipes, when you put them in - and once absorbed, the oil will be sufficiently dilute on each wipe not to be an issue.

Otherwise, I assume your concern is that there could be concentrated drops of the oil on the wipes, @userpmfrdh - which might not be a good idea (though I assume the oils they are using are safe on skin).

As long as they're used safely, what's the issue? It's better than the stuff they put in standard baby wipes.

If they didn't have something in them to help them disperse in water you'd see 4 cloths stained with a big blob of oil rather than 25 gently scented cloths.

They told me they are pure essential oils. Given that the wipes are manually squeezed no one can safely say how much essential oil remains on one wipe. They can easily cause chemical burns.

But yes that is my main concern.

Essential oils can be diluted but not directly, you need something else to 'dilute' the oil and then put it in the water. Maybe they've done that already?
Whilst not necessary I'm not sure what the harm is?

Pure essential oils.

I used them for 5 years in total. All bums burn-free. Don't use the oil if you don't want to.

If you have an issue go to the company, don’t argue with people on here who dont see what the issue is
