They are essential oils made by cheeky wipes that are baby skin safe. I use them and they smell lovely!

Essential oils can definitely be a skin irritant. I've had a nasty reaction to a few drops of mandarin essential oil in a bath before, and I'm an adult, babies have much more sensitive skin. And the OP is correct that oils do not disperse in water.

@Mummytonicekids

Tbh for me the issue is that they are selling oils to mask the smell that will occur with reusable wipes. I couldn’t wash Pooey wipes in my washing machine.

Why, does your washing machine not get things clean? I think you need a new one if so.

I can’t get too upset or concerned about it when I compare it to the ingredients list of (for example) disposable wipes, disposable nappies, and nappy cream. Some people use Cheeky Wipes because their babies have terrible reactions to disposables.

Cheeky Wipes have been around for years! My dd is 8 and I bought some before she was born. I think if there was a real issue that this would have been noticed by now.

Do you not wash dirty baby clothes in your washing machine??

I used disposable water wipes, never a reaction and suitable for newborns. I don’t consider reusable wipes as eco friendly as they are made out to be as you have to wash them using water, detergent, electricity etc

They're teeny though @Mummytonicekids, so they just go in with other things.

I think your point applies more to reusable nappies, which we also use with ours, but not full time. I do think it's six of one, half a dozen of the other with them tbh. Especially where I live, as landfill doesn't actually go to landfill, it is incinerated and the energy captured from the incineration powers electricity locally. So, although, obviously, loads of nappies in normal waste isn't great and also being produced etc, I feel like at least they won't lie around, completely like new for hundreds of years.

I honestly find it hard to imagine that anyone who had tried reusable wipes wouldn't prefer them - it's not just the eco bit, it's that they're just so much better as a product. When you use disposable wipes after using reusable ones you realise how terrible disposable wipes are at actually getting poo off and not just moving it around.

Totally agree @Hardbackwriter! They are much better at doing what they are meant to do imo.
