Honestly OP no one is leaving chemical burns on their babies with a couple of drops of lavender oil (the tea tree and lemon doesn’t go on the skin as it’s for the dirty wipes) Have you seen what’s in regular baby wipes in comparison?

I’d assume it’s because it won’t disperse throughout the water without an additional carrier.

Eh? I mixed them with water without anything else to apply to the bits straight after birth and it was fine, lovely in fact ... you think it causes burns?!? Eh?

I used water wipes and then moved onto any old wipes.

I do see the point actually. I gave myself chemical burns by incautious use of pure essential oil in my bath (lavender), before I knew it wouldn't dilute in water. This was about 20 drops in a full bath. It has also burned holes in the top plastic layer of my bath.

However, I would assume that this company has used essential oils that are not irritants, rather than being a twat like me.

However, I would assume that this company has used essential oils that are not irritants, rather than being a twat like me.

This is my concern. They are using pure essential oils with no carrier oil not a recommendation of a carrier oil.

It does seem a bit odd OP. Perhaps I (and my plastic bath...) have more sensitive skin than most though. Genuinely, it has holes burned in to it from the oil trapped in the water between that and my fat arse.

What a bizarre thing to get worked up about. We use them - plain water for the first 6 weeks or so as far as I can recall, then a couple of drops of oil in loads of water. The only time he’s ever had a problem with nappy rash was when we tried using disposable wipes! Cheeky Wipes are perfectly safe and saving huge amounts of plastic waste going to landfill.

Jesus Christ calm down. Cheeky wipes are brilliant. You don’t need to use the essential oil. I didn’t realise you shouldn’t use it and used it on my baby from 1 month old what a huge surprise that she has no burns or skin problems .

poor plastic bath.

But I did this too. I put some in a cream, I got burnt and had to go to A&E! Thank fuck it wasn't on my private parts
