Please help, in so much pain

t all started on Friday, I had mild stomach ache, thought maybe it was something I ate and didn’t think nothing of it. Then Saturday full blown diarrhoea and stomach pain. The diarrhoea stopped on Monday and since the pain has gotten worse and worse, I feel like I’m in labour. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat. Only thing that helps if I vomit and I feel better for 20-30 mins, then it all starts again. I haven’t eaten anything since Friday as I can’t keep anything down.

So far I’ve tried peppermint/ginger lemon tea, lots of water, gaviscon and the GP has prescribed Stemetil Prochlorperazine tablets. It takes the edge off, but nothing really helps.

Anything I could ask the GP to prescribe me? Could it be muscle spams in the stomach? I don’t have diarrhoea or anything like that, just severe stomach pain that won’t go away. It’s not dull period cramps, just awful pain

At first I thought it was gastroenteritis, but I don't know now. The pain is just getting worse and worse, I can't sleep at night.

You need to speak to the GP again. Did they say how long to give it before getting back in touch?

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/07/2020 18:03

It sounds like it could be gallstones?

LIZS · 08/07/2020 18:04

Are you dehydrated , could it be kidney stones or gall stones? think you need to see gp.

1Morewineplease · 08/07/2020 18:04

Phone the GP again. Maybe phone the NHS helpline now.
Sorry to hear of your suffering.

FatherBrownsBicycle · 08/07/2020 18:05

Do you have a temperature?

Fanthorpe · 08/07/2020 18:05

It could be anything, I’d get seen again. You must be getting close to dehydration anyway.

thedaytodayyesterday · 08/07/2020 18:06

I would give 111 a try xx I'm sorry you're so poorly x

Minai · 08/07/2020 18:07

I’d phone 111. I had severe stomach pain, diarrhoea, vomiting and couldn’t eat and called 111. They told me to go straight to a&e and it was appendicitis. I was very lucky as it was about to burst and I was able to have keyhole surgery and go home the next day and would have been much worse if I’d waited.

Doggodogington · 08/07/2020 18:08

Could it be an Ulcer?

itwilldropoff · 08/07/2020 18:11

Where is the pain? When I had gallstones the pain was unbearable, I thought I was having a heart attack. For me the pain was central/right hand side under my boobs.

For pain that severe with no known cause I think you need to see someone so I’d echo everyone else and say 111Flowers

Lucozade2020 · 08/07/2020 18:12

I don't have a temperature or diarrhoea, rash. It's just severe stomach pain that won't go away. I had the phone consultation yesterday, but the chemist was closed so picked up the medicine today. But I'm really tempted to call them back again tomorrow as I know it's going to be another horrible night of not sleeping, and being in pain I can't take it anymore.

I have only been on the tablets they prescribed for a day, do you think they would tell me to wait before trying something else?

Could be a number of things but please phone 111, my DS had similar symptoms that turned out to be appendicitis - gp originally diagnosed it as a virus.
Ive had gallstones and that is also incredibly painful, like labour but with no breather and can make you vomit and have diarrhoea , so it could be either of them but do phone 111 or try out of hours GP, good luck , hope you feel better soon xxx

Namealreadyinuse1 · 08/07/2020 18:27

This sounds like appendicitis. I had very similar symptoms and mine ruptured. I’ve never experienced pain like it. Has the pain moved across your tummy?

2bazookas · 08/07/2020 18:33

Have you read the manufacturers leaflet that came with the prescription? It should give you some idea how long it takes to work and produce some benefit.

labyrinthloafer · 08/07/2020 18:35

Please phone 111. This is possibly serious.

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 08/07/2020 18:37

I had this a few weeks a go, right down to the vomiting seeming to help the pain. My appendix had ruptured. Please get seen.

pointythings · 08/07/2020 18:37

Please call 111, it's what they're there for. If it is your appendix, it is time sensitive.

MadCatLady71 · 08/07/2020 18:40

Call 111 - it could be appendicitis or an ovarian cyst.

isadoradancing123 · 08/07/2020 18:42

Stemetil will only help the nausea a bit, its not getting to the root of the problem

awesmum · 08/07/2020 18:43

Pepto Bismol tastes vile but it works!

Caramel78 · 08/07/2020 18:47

Where exactly is the pain? Left or right side and is it higher up or lower than your belly button?
It could be a number of things such as appendicitis, gallstones, bad gastritis, ulcer, norovirus, burst ovarian cyst

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 08/07/2020 18:48

You are unable to eat since Friday and the pain is getting worse? Definitely call 111. People call ambulances for less than this.

Lsquiggles · 08/07/2020 18:49

I had the same pain last week and ended up in A&E with a gallstones diagnosis, now on the list to have my gallbladder removed. Please call 111

pinguwings · 08/07/2020 18:49

Ring 111, they will likely advise a&e. Severe stomach pain isn't something to ignore.
None of the tablets will address whatever the underlying cause is and will just mask symptoms.
