Please help, in so much pain

t all started on Friday, I had mild stomach ache, thought maybe it was something I ate and didn’t think nothing of it. Then Saturday full blown diarrhoea and stomach pain. The diarrhoea stopped on Monday and since the pain has gotten worse and worse, I feel like I’m in labour. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat. Only thing that helps if I vomit and I feel better for 20-30 mins, then it all starts again. I haven’t eaten anything since Friday as I can’t keep anything down.

So far I’ve tried peppermint/ginger lemon tea, lots of water, gaviscon and the GP has prescribed Stemetil Prochlorperazine tablets. It takes the edge off, but nothing really helps.

Anything I could ask the GP to prescribe me? Could it be muscle spams in the stomach? I don’t have diarrhoea or anything like that, just severe stomach pain that won’t go away. It’s not dull period cramps, just awful pain

If it helps when I presented at A&E with abdominal pain I was triaged and taken to the surgical assessment wards within 40 minutes of walking through the door.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Catabogus · 08/07/2020 20:29

I had very similar and it turned out to be appendicitis.

tiredanddangerous · 08/07/2020 20:31

Please go to a&e! Severe stomach pain is an emergency and you need to be seen!

Rumbletumbleinmytummy · 08/07/2020 21:00

I had similar, it was gallstones
Go to A&E or call 111 and get an appointment to be seen
I had some amazing painkillers, buscopan and loads of water. Was SO much better.

minimummum · 08/07/2020 21:02

This sounds like when I had gallstones and one got stuck in a duct causing pancreatitis. Please get seen to as soon as possible. I ended up in critical care for 10 days. .

Needingsupportplease · 08/07/2020 21:07

I also had similar and had a ruptured ovarian cyst which can turn and be very nasty and dangerous. But they treat me as appendicitis first to be cautious. Hope your been sorted x

sapphire54925 · 08/07/2020 21:09

Hope ur ok let us know

Grandmi · 08/07/2020 21:15

Sounds very likely to be appendicitis off to AE ASAP!!

Vinosaurus · 08/07/2020 21:21

You poor thing - it sounds horrendous. It does sound something acute and worsening so I'd definitely get yourself off to A&E.

Lots of luck - hopefully they'll get you feeling better in no time.

MrsPinkCock · 08/07/2020 21:31

DS had this last year... when he vomited it was green

He had a burst appendix and sepsis

Hope you’ve gone to hospital!

redastherose · 08/07/2020 21:33

Go to a & e,generally much quieter at the moment due to people avoiding because of CV.

I had this with gallstones. A&E packed but they could see I was in agony so took me straight through and I’d had morphine within 5 mins. Don’t let a wait put you off.

ScottishStottie · 08/07/2020 21:43

Spent a lot of time in and out of a and e with dp with similar symptoms and he never had to wait long before getting seen.

Are you vomiting a lot or is it just pain? (Sorry i know 'just' is not the right word for how bad it must feel)

Something that helped dp was having a hot bath, might help the pain temporarily?

L0bstersLass · 08/07/2020 22:09
@CaptainCabinets will I have to wait for hours in A&E? I just don't think I could do that with the pain I'm in
My money is on appendicitis. You need to be in A&E. They'll triage you straight away and if it is appendicitis they won't keep you hanging around.

I hope you went to a and e x Flowers

MrsMozartMkII · 08/07/2020 22:15

Hope you're there and being seen.

itwilldropoff · 08/07/2020 22:18

I’d suffered with my gallbladder for a while, one particular time I had a bad attack that lasted over 36 hours and I admitted to DH that I needed to go to A&E, I was seen within minutes and in a room on a drip with painkillers in a drip while they did bloods etc, while this was going on I started to develop jaundice and when all the results came back they were all high/low (can’t remember what they tested!), anyway I was on a medical ward with two hours being treated for acute cholecystitis and stayed for a good few days, so what I’m saying is if you go to A&E you’ll be triaged accordingly and might not necessarily have a long wait time.
Hopefully you’re already there.Flowers

freddiethegreat · 08/07/2020 22:18

I took my 17 year old son to A&E with similar symptoms (on 111 advice) mid-March. We got there at 6.45am & he was on morphine in a cubicle by 7.20. If you’re in agony (he was sweating & groaning with pain) something will be done. He had pancreatitis (lots of concern because of his youth, but was a side effect of a medication he was taking for Crohn’s, so relatively easy to address.

Givingup123456 · 08/07/2020 22:19

A and e . 111 is for something not serious. Pain is serious

Claliscool · 08/07/2020 22:20

Good lord best of luck op let us know how you get on!

metronome1 · 08/07/2020 22:20

Hope your in a and e now op. It does sound like appendicitis.
