Thought it was time for another try at recognising these images and catching some child rapists.

They specifically want to trace their origin (location/country). You can help by clicking on an object you recognise and providing Europol with the information you have on the object. This can be done anonymously.

The images are safe to click on (all identifying bits have been taken out), but still may be triggering for some.

Is it only me who really doesn’t understand this?
So let’s say I recognise a children’s t-shirt that I saw in Primark. Hundreds of thousands of children could possibly own one of those, even abroad. How does this help finding who took a particular pic of which particular child in which particular country?

Stelmarsh - presumably the majority of these images are of more 'niche' products - things that they haven't been able to trace easily to a mass producer. That's why they might be significant: they could narrow down to a country or time that might be a piece in the puzzle. Presumably, they think it's useful enough to ask the public to share info.
UmmH · 06/07/2020 22:33

I was thinking Tesco bleach, but I think @Clevererthanyou has it right, from the shape of the cap.

UmmH · 06/07/2020 22:40

@LivingThisLife

I tried a reverse image search but it didn't work. I am sure they would have done that already.

12345ct · 06/07/2020 22:46

This breaks my heart to pieces.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 06/07/2020 22:52

I've never heard of this before - so awful that it's necessary. Didn't recognise anything unfortunately though.

Myal · 06/07/2020 22:55

@NudgeUnit

Picture five, the yellow spray can with the red cap, that looks really familiar to me, I am racking my brain to try and remember. Some sort of insect repellent maybe ?

I think it looks like lighter fluid.

I think the same. Lighter fuel, mainly around in the 80s and 90s but can't think of the brand name
Thelnebriati · 06/07/2020 22:59

Could you ask MNHQ to put Europol in the title? I can never find these threads but for some reason can remember that one word.

JontyDoggle37 · 06/07/2020 23:02

Thank you OP, I’ve shared that link on Facebook, with appropriate trigger warning, and looked at all the pics as well although I wasn’t able to identify anything.

Nomorewineever · 06/07/2020 23:06

I can’t believe no one has recognised the logo on the striped shirt which the guy on Twitter has enhanced really well.

It’s such a distinct regimental emblem - crown at the top indicates ‘royal’ something and the anchors would surely hint at naval.

Ethelfleda · 06/07/2020 23:09

Sadly don’t recognise anything but this has made me feel ill. How awful.

I thought it was Swan lighter fluid?
SlightyJaded · 06/07/2020 23:14

Lighter fluid usually has a lid on the aerosol though and then a small nozzle that you can add different fittings to. That's why I thought insect spray - because you spray direct from a moulded top.

Poetryinaction · 06/07/2020 23:20

The last image says it is a poster, but I can only see a wetsuit hanging up.

roastytoastie · 06/07/2020 23:26

I wish I didn't just look at those pictures as they have really upset me. I felt I needed to see them in case I recognized anything but sadly I didn't.

Absolutely sickening!

TheHobbitMum · 06/07/2020 23:34

Someone on twitter managed to enhance the bottles, I may not be child's farm? Good call though, they'll be able to investigate none the less

Scarytimetobuy · 07/07/2020 00:01

The yellow aerosol reminds me of that spray foam you can buy for kids baths but have googled it and it’s not quite right.

poppinpink · 07/07/2020 00:04

Thank you for highlighting this, I didn't even know trying to help in this way was possible. I really struggled with deciding wether to look at the link but I felt it was kind of like a duty to do so. Unfortunately I don't recognise anything.

31weeksgone · 07/07/2020 00:05

I looked but don’t know any. Thanks for the reminder though. How sad Sad

Bouncingbelle · 07/07/2020 00:12

Thanks for reminding me of this site. Tho looking at even these images make me feel physically sick to the pit of my stomach. Those poor wee souls who must have been in the pictures :(

mellowww · 07/07/2020 00:16

Clicked but had to stop when I got to the socks. 😞 omg beyond sad

Queenest · 07/07/2020 00:32

Is it Ronson lighter fuel in the can with the red top?

MrsRonaldUlyssesSwanson · 07/07/2020 01:49

@Stelmariah it's Europol who have the images. They only have the images which have presumably been recovered somewhere in Europe and they have no idea of country / region / year taken. Identifying background items helps them to narrow down the time and location that the image was taken.

It's a great idea, I've identified something quite niche in the past and having read through the thread I'm really chuffed to see other users being able to do the same. It was Mumsnet that first put me into the site too. Threads like these are the reason I stay on mumsnet. These and the parking ones Grin

DivineTruth · 07/07/2020 02:16

Really hits you seeing these. The picture with the yellow shorts with cartoon and word 'LUCK', the irony for this poor child is quite clearly devastating Flowers:

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 07/07/2020 06:43

Oh god if it includes childrens clothing I dont think I can look, I'm already feeling sick at the thought of the context. Unimaginable how people can do this stuff Sad
