Hands down for me are the ”if this was a man asking/doing/saying/bla bla”.....
all hell would apperently break loose.

What are yours?

(Oh and let’s vote on mine
yabu- you don’t mind these kind of posts
yanbu- you dislike these kind of post)

OP posts:
pictish · 04/07/2020 23:36

I prefer them as so many more to choose from. I wish everyone used them.

AnnaBanana333 · 04/07/2020 23:37

Posters who get their threads deleted for "privacy" when it didn't go the way they wanted. Though actually it's MNHQ that annoys me for agreeing, not so much the poster.

Posters on threads by step parents who trot out the nonsense that everyone on MN hates stepmothers and they will never get fair responses.

The TERFs.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 04/07/2020 23:39

The ones who end their post with ‘Discuss’.

Also, anyone who has ‘I calmly explained’ in their post.

Reverse posts.

WhySoSexist · 04/07/2020 23:40

People who ask AIBU and then get really, really, really aggressive when 100% of people say they're being unreasonable and argue that they aren't unreasonable at all and, in fact, are entirely justified.
Why did you even ask then you fucking lemon drizzle cake?!

BeautifulCrazy · 04/07/2020 23:41

Ok this is so petty but it really annoys me when people use regular emojis rather than the mumsnet ones. Especially the heart eyes and crying laughter ones.

I’d annoy you then. 😬😍🤣 Sorry !

YgritteSnow · 04/07/2020 23:41

I'm finding MN becoming more and more like Twitter every day. The shaming and exaggerated disgust at alternative views or opinions and there is a slow but steady creep towards attempting to "cancel" posters as far as it's possible to do that on this forum. I know this is said regularly but it was never like this before. It could get heated for sure but the discussion would continue and would often educate. Opinions are now presented entirely as fact and if you don't agree or if you question even mildly, you're immediately labelled a worthless bigot of some kind. I find it really worrying. It's everywhere now.

snowybean · 04/07/2020 23:44

No use of paragraphs - a long stream of text & I click away. So hard to read.

THIS x1,000 and those who don't use punctuation.

"AM I PREGNANT????" or some crap about nub theory
gtfo.

snowybean · 04/07/2020 23:45

@YgritteSnow Yes! I agree wholeheartedly

jessstan2 · 04/07/2020 23:48

Snowybean, I agree with you about those who do not use enough paragraphs and some who rarely punctuate.

"We/they 'was'...." rather than 'were'.

Nestofvipers · 04/07/2020 23:51

Posters who start threads with “NC for this, but long term user- Mexican house thief, penis beaker, snapped and farted, screamed at the Sistine etc”

People who think they’re hilarious by suggesting balonz as a name on baby names threads.

The am I pregnant (you had sex, you could be is nearly always the answer) and line eyes posters.

Anyone who says give your head a wobble or wow, just wow or who thinks saying did you mean to be so rude? is a hilarious insult.

The mysterious hobbies which can not be named because they’re outing. It’s cycling. Or golf.

ComeBackIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/07/2020 23:52

Oh so many, but especially the "script" replies where posters don't just give the gist of what they think the OP should say to their partner/mother/milkman but set it out word for word, because they clearly don't believe that OP can string a sentence together.

Dieu · 04/07/2020 23:53

The tightwads really annoy me, namely those who think spending a couple of hundred on your child's birthday/Christmas is 'obscene'.

They come across as totally joyless.

LunchBoxPolice · 04/07/2020 23:53

“Man here”
“male opinion here”

pictish · 04/07/2020 23:53

Never quite understood the big secrecy about hobbies. Like you say, it’s always cycling or golf. So outing.

Nestofvipers · 04/07/2020 23:54

@jessstan2
Can we add posters who write ect to that list please?

giantangryrooster · 04/07/2020 23:54

I'm grumpy so...

Posters who can't be bothered to read even OP's posts and 875 posts in, reply to the opening post.

Line eye posts, those test should come with a klaxon and the ceiling falling down, if it's that hard to see, there probably isn't anything.

Which name to choose threads, are posters really that insecure they cannot choose what they like.

Posters who never come back. It's OK to ask for advise, but can't be bothered with responding.

The sad/angry posters emerging on any obviously fun thread.

Oh and the unmumsnetty hug, there is nothing unmumsnetty about it, posters say hug all the time, ffs.

And those boring emojies from mn, that shows you are a true mnetter. There is a world of bigger, funnier more appropriate emojies everywhere else.

I told you, I was grumpy 😤🤣

Nestofvipers · 04/07/2020 23:56

@pictish
Yep, both very niche hobbies which only a handful of people in the country do, so totally outing.

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 04/07/2020 23:56

Posts where the answer is obviously either "Just Fucking Google It" or "oh grow up ffs"

Whatever happened to JFGI on here? I haven't seen it for years... It was always my favourite abbreviation.

harddecisionseveryday · 04/07/2020 23:57

those who tell you to 'leave him' 'break up with him' when any bad thing is said about someones partner (no-one is perfect).

Those who don't address the concerns and questions of the poster and instead look for every angle for attack at the poster

IcedPurple · 04/07/2020 23:57

Posters who come on to say how they hate the way a certain thing is done in the UK, adding that 'In my country' it's so much better. Ask them what their country is, however, and they get terribly coy.

Witchofzog · 04/07/2020 23:58

Stealth boasting.

Those who post and never return because people disagree with them.

Lengthy posts with no paragraphs.

And my biggest bug bear. Guess what type posts where people have to guess something. The answer is usually something very mundane and ffs I just don't have the time to fanny around waiting for the big reveal which ultimately is always disappointing

funinthesun19 · 04/07/2020 23:58

People who focus more on the ow being in the wrong than the man who cheated. Like hello?

SpillTheTeaa · 05/07/2020 00:00

The threads that say they hate their body and embarrassed by it then post a picture for everyone to see. I don't really get it in all honesty. Think it's a bit attention seeking.

WhySoSexist · 05/07/2020 00:02

When OP says something like "He's a great father but he [does very minor thing wrong]" and dozens of women chime in with "well, then he's not a great father, is he?" as if they're all flawless parents. It's usually coupled up with LTB. My favourite one of these was when the dad would repeatedly put the toddler's clothes on inside out and not notice.

SpillTheTeaa · 05/07/2020 00:02

And guess my age threads usually the picture attached is with a SC filter on it. So do they want their age in dog years or?
