There are four main donor registries.You only need to register to oneas the information from all registers is collated when looking for a match.

I think if you are a perfect match they seem to wave the age and other factors. I donated twice,I was over 60 and had a child with jaundice due to Ao incompatibility if that has any relevance. So don't be discouraged by age. Though as you get older it isn't a piece of cake. And it's a hell of a blow if it doesn't work so I suspect that's why anyone with depression might not be encouraged.

I’m on the DKMS one but I know the director of one of the others in a work capacity, and he said realistically they prefer young healthy BMI men to use.

Just registered- thank you. I’d only seen the Anthony Nolan one before and that has an upper age limit of 30.

I'm on the DKMS register and tried over and over and over again to change my address but they make it SO difficult that I just gave up in the end. Every time I see the key fob I do worry that I've matched someone and they aren't able to contact me but there's not really anything I can do.
I also think it's silly that you can't sign up to the NHS one unless you're eligible to give blood. I have a vitamin D deficiency so they won'y allow me to give blood. Seems crazy that someone might die if I'm a match but my low vitamin D rules me out.

Can I register?

I've never been accepted to give blood as I'm a life-long anaemic.
