(LIGHT HEARTED)

Just that really.

I think my favourite was fairly recently - CV related and one of the first responses to was “You dh is literally trying to kill you” (along the lines of not wearing a mask in the shops).

Oh my God what a ridiculous thread!

JudithGrimesHat · 30/06/2020 15:41

Was that OTT enough 😁

VettiyaIruken · 30/06/2020 15:42

Oh dear. 😁 Not really sure people will enjoy it if they find their post on this list.

Thedogscollar · 30/06/2020 16:15

I was told to get back to my OK mag and Loose WomenGrin

AnnieMaul · 30/06/2020 16:16

I find the way some react to other peoples name choices or suggestions OTT.

There's expressing a genuine opinion or saying you don't like a particular name, which is one thing. There's giving feedback such as you don't think it goes well with another name. But I find the "it's absolutely vile" "please don't call your child that" (and similar) all weirdly over the top and unnecessarily nasty. And usually they're not even particularly barmy names Confused

FlibbertyGiblets · 30/06/2020 16:36

The woof to you too lady was hilarious about ten years ago, a dust up over baby weaning.

I still say well woof to you lady internally if someone is getting on my wick. Grin

PumpkinP · 30/06/2020 16:37

Don’t remember the name of the thread but the one where the woman admitted that she loved her dog less since having a child, wow they response on there was quite frankly hysterical

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 16:37

@JudithGrimesHat nowhere near - you should have politely enquired as to whether I’m on glue to start such a ridiculous thread Grin

@PumpkinP dog/child threads always bring out hysteria! Ditto smoking

@FlibbertyGiblets oh I’ve never seen that but that’s made me chuckle.

The one where someone had sent the OP chocolate as a surprise and there was a post about it going to kill the OP - either with CV19 or she'd be so obese after eating it she would die.

Legoandloldolls · 30/06/2020 16:42

It's the "this is such a first world problem, people are dying from ( Insert death of choice)"

I never get this? Is a chat forum.

So..... OP "I caught my dh having anal with my neighbour in front of my toddler. What makes it worse is that I have just lost my job and my mum is seriously ill"
Reply - " this is such a first world problem! Thank God your not having to ( insert irrelevant problem). Give your head a wobble!"

I never get those posters

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 30/06/2020 16:47

Years ago there was a post from someone who spotted a lady with a newborn in the supermarket.

The newborn was crying and the lady was shopping, so the op went up to the woman and offered to hold her baby while she shopped, the woman declined, then the woman's mother appeared and held the baby.

The op then went and gossiped about this baby crying to all the shop staff she saw and literally stalked this woman around the shop.

I replied saying I wouldnt let some randomer hold my baby while I shopped either.

Then there was the op and 3 or 4 others whipping themselves up into a frenzy.

In the end the op and these posters decided the best course of action was to go back to the supermarket, get CCTV footage, get the number plate of the car, track the woman's address down from that, then call social services because she obviously had postnatal depression and needed help.

I was stunned, major over reaction there. A new mum didnt let a stranger hold her baby in a supermarket and ends up with SS on her doorstep.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 30/06/2020 16:53

The ones were someone is posting about having very serious issues with say their husband

And then someone appears to say WELL I WISH I COULD SEE MY HUSBAND AGAIN BUT HE'S DEAD

Like, sorry for your tragic loss and all but this woman is being abused Confused

Have seen it happen with reference to husband, father and mother on different threads in all cases where the family member being posted about is causing serious issues.

It's a bit bizarre.

PumpkinP · 30/06/2020 16:57

Honestly the amount of posters falling over themselves to say they loved their dogs more than their kids was unreal (as if that’s somehow better!)

ScribblyGum · 30/06/2020 16:58

The juggling mangos OP 🥭 🥭 🥭 has to be the classic.

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 17:02

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit @Legoandloldolls also in that category are people who randomly talk about their woes which bear no relation to the post.

See also “my 4 year old was picked on by a 3 year old at soft play. The other kid stole the toy he was playing with”.

There’s always one... “log it with 101 it’s assault”.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 30/06/2020 17:19

@MalcomTuckerisMyIdol

There are at least 2 posters who have well and truly marked their cards for me over the years with "merailing" at every opportunity.

ShebaShimmyShake · 30/06/2020 17:32

Not THE most OTT but the other week someone was moralising about lockdown and telling us all we had no right at all to struggle with it. I said something along the lines of "well you'll get to heaven quicker than the rest of us mere mortals, but be careful, if you falter at any point you'll join us in getting jabbed with tridents and wearing Factor 500000", and someone thought I was seriously threatening hellfire and damnation.

A bit earlier today, in a thread about smacking, someone did the "it's the only thing some kids understand, the only way to stop them" bollocks, to which I responded that that was bad parenting and perhaps I could come over to slap them since that was clearly the only thing they understood and the only thing that would stop them. Someone who claimed not to be the Factor 50000 person apparently thought I was seriously threatening to find and lamp this person, and even noted how ironic it would be for an anti-smacker to do such a thing. Why yes, brainiac, it would indeed. That was your first clue.

I despair sometimes.

ShebaShimmyShake · 30/06/2020 17:38

Wasn't there a thread once where an OP was told to give her house to someone?

ClattyPat · 30/06/2020 17:39

You sound like hard work, OP Wink

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 17:39

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit it can come on tnr most innocuous of threads too - like tell me about a funny interview “well my husband died just after an interview so sorry if I don’t find these responses funny”

Or “how should I cook an artichoke” - “I had an allergic reaction to one once and almost died - sorry to bring a downer”.

OP posts:
MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 17:40

@ClattyPat as someone said upthread... woof to you Grin
