To think even on a hot night it's absurd to sleep with no covering?

Dh is snoring away, on top of the sheet we are using on the bed on this roasting night.

It's discombobulating. Clearly the man is a psychopath.

But... it's not even that hot? At least not where I am - 20 degrees max. But then I am a psychopath who always sleeps naked, so you're probably safest ignoring me. Especially as I'm under your bed right now.

spinthebottle · 25/06/2020 01:06

Has he never heard of monsters?!

50shadesoflunacy · 25/06/2020 01:16

Two words; spider willies

I sleep naked but always have to be covered.

TimeWastingButFun · 25/06/2020 01:43

Get Michael McIntyre round.

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 25/06/2020 01:46

I'm a duvet cover underer with a fan on.

Do is naked, hands behind head and the freak is completely uncovered.......I've just flicked him on the knob for snoring. Hmm

SurreyHillsGirl · 25/06/2020 04:08

YANBU . I need to feel the weight of something on me. I’d rather not have two furry, hot dogs cuddling up to me as well though Hmm 🔥 DH has escaped to the spare room. The dogs haven’t followed him Angry Grin

IncorrigibleTitmouse · 25/06/2020 04:34

I’ve often wondered if anyone is as weird as me. I have to have my shoulders covered but I like to stick at least one leg out, if not both. The only person I’ve met that has the exact same sleep time cover-related needs is my grandfather! 😂 He said he’s always been that way, shoulders covered, feet out!

Happynow001 · 25/06/2020 05:07

MagentaRocks
am like this in winter too. I miss the days of two normal hot water bottles and two duvets because I am cold.
Try having a 3-4inch thick feather bed (goes on top of your normal mattress) plus an extra large goose feather and down duvet over you. Extra large so it drapes round you. If you have a sleeping partner both of you should get your individual duvets - so no cold spots.

The products I bought were Northern Nights from QVC years ago. You might need to wait until later in the year to buy them though.

Hot water bottles at your feet won't hurt either..

sashh · 25/06/2020 05:23

I have been known to do this.

My problem is the cat, she likes to sleep on me and I don't need a fuzzy hot water bottle.

Shoxfordian · 25/06/2020 06:21

I was risking my life (from monster attacks) sleeping with no sheet or duvet last night. Eek

IDontLikeZombies · 25/06/2020 06:51

My DH is currently under 2 layers of the winter duvet and snoring happily, if that was me I'd be able to be hooked up to some kind of geothermal energy system and power the city a la Reykjavik Grin
I can't sleep without something over me, anything could happen. Although, I did hear once that the best way to prevent nocturnal alien abductions is to sleep naked. Apparently they find human genitals repulsive.

SimonJT · 25/06/2020 07:01

We don’t sleep with any covers when its hot, we also sleep naked, when you have no covers on the nakedness scares away any monsters.

Footsanitiser · 25/06/2020 07:05

I've found my people. I couldnt sleep last might it was so hot but I somehow need the weight of the duvet (sometimes 1 leg is allowed out)

missclimpson · 25/06/2020 07:10

Last night we had an owl doing slalom down the slightly open velux (second night in a row), a mosquito or two and then a hornet arrived for a visit this morning. Our bedroom gets very hot and we have an air conditioning unit in it, but it was sulking at 24°, so we opened windows at 3am. 😡

OldeMagick · 25/06/2020 07:27

Flowers For you OP

Ethelfleda · 25/06/2020 07:36

Of course YANBU.
At the very least, a sheet over feet and legs in case of demons and/or monsters that reside under the bed. Everyone knows a covering is the only protection from these beasts!

dementedma · 25/06/2020 07:36

I have read this very funny thread with growing bewilderment. I thought everyone slept without covers when it was hot! I didnt know I was in the minority.

Dear me, I have been awake since 3.40 am when the sky started to get light as I pulled the blinds right up so I could keep the window open (blinds get in the way).

I slept with two frozen hot water bottles (weird way of explaining it) three freezer ice packs three fans on. And I was still under my duvet. Why is my room so much hotter than the outside WHHHYYY

Livpool · 25/06/2020 07:56

We just had the duvet cover last night and DH got under it, even though he he was hot. I was on the top - being a psychopath apparently!

StarlightLady · 25/06/2020 08:00

Duvet is in the bedding chest. I sleep naked on the bottom sheet, nothing over me.

KizzyWayfarer · 25/06/2020 08:01

I’ve been wondering whether there’s a divide between the sexes in that men are more likely to fling the covers off. DH and I both sleep naked but I have to be have the duvet (or duvet cover in this hot weather) up to my neck to relax and go to sleep. Whereas he always has at least his arms sticking out.

Autumn20 · 25/06/2020 08:03

For the first time last night I slept without a duvet cover. Normally I struggle to sleep with just a sheet as need the weight of the duvet to not feel like I'm going to be murdered in my sleep. I am heavily pregnant and slept cuddling a maternity pillow and think it felt enough like a duvet to trick me into feeling safe. I'm definitely keeping the pillow for future hot summers, it's the only solution to the problem!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/06/2020 08:04

I stirred at 4am and he was under the sheet - balance restored. But I was chilly so had to pull the duvet up off the floor onto me.

Moraxella · 25/06/2020 08:07

Roasting under a 15 tog up to my neck. But not giving it up. One foot out of course.

Oblomov20 · 25/06/2020 08:07

"feet and legs must be covered at night always in case the monsters...."

Errr no. Always have at least one foot out. It allows hear to escape and regulates your temperature.
