Oh I was wondering whether it was because you were on your own without a friend or on your own on a deserted beach - I wouldn't care about the former but am happier if there are a few more people around.

Embracelife · 24/06/2020 11:53

Just enjoy

There is no one there to see you

And if there was they would think

lucky lady
having some time to herself

Kaj29 · 24/06/2020 11:53

Enjoy whilst it lasts. The beaches near where I live will be heaving now lockdown has been eased.

Nothing wrong with going out on your own. I do it all the time and so does many people.

NoSauce · 24/06/2020 11:53

I’m baffled. Why would anyone think you were a loser just because you’re alone? Confused

user69 · 24/06/2020 11:55

It wouldn't even cross my mind to worry about this Confused I see plenty of people on their own on the beach.

Embracelife · 24/06/2020 11:55

Or go sit next to the other people and start a conversation...

Wait
Surely that would be more crazy? Than staying in your space

YaWeeSkitter · 24/06/2020 11:57

I would love to be able to sit on a beach on my own. I dont sunbathe but I do love to just sit and look.
If I saw a woman on her on I would think how lucky she was to be able to do that with no calls on her time. I wouldnt think it was odd in any way.

Strangely though I would no more go and sit on a riverbank ( unless it was a paved area with proper seating) than I would sit down in the middle of the road. No logic to it but I would feel weird doing it.

But no matter where there should be zero music for anyone else to hear! Headphones are a great invention though.

Gulabjamoon · 24/06/2020 11:58

I'm worried people might think I'm a looser being on my own.

Is that what you think when you see people alone? That's pretty sad.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 24/06/2020 12:01

God op you lucky sod

Enjoy the time to yourself.

IntermittentParps · 24/06/2020 12:07

Oh it looks beautiful. I'm envious. Can you say where you are? Not too specifically if you'd rather not, obvs.
I love doing things on my own. Enjoy your book and your music and the peace!

redcarbluecar · 24/06/2020 12:09

It looks fabulous. I'd be at the beach like a shot if I lived near enough to one.

Catiopea · 24/06/2020 12:11

I hope you’re having a lovely time OP. I had planned a swim today (hoping beach would be quiet as its rainy here) but DS informed me he has a parcel coming & was heading out himself Hmm

I used to go to the beach a lot by myself, its very calming

EwwSprouts · 24/06/2020 12:12

That looks a fab beach, enjoy relaxing. I wouldn't have earphones on though so you are aware of who's around you. Wouldn't occur to me to think anyone alone is a loser. I've gone to restaurants and the cinema alone.

JaniceWebster · 24/06/2020 12:15

happyclappyc
you do know you have to tell us where that beach is!

Jaxhog · 24/06/2020 12:16

People will think you're carefree and be very jealous (like me). But who cares what they think! Enjoy.

Alittlebitta · 24/06/2020 12:16

When I feel like this I always put myself on the other end. If you were walking down the beach you wouldn't give a second thought to anyone else there would you? It's highly likely they aren't taking notice of you either.

BarbedBloom · 24/06/2020 12:18

I used to be like this and then I realised I actually enjoy being on my own. I love going to a cafe or the park with a book and letting life happen around me. The time I felt most self conscious was eating in a restaurant alone but then I realised no one cared or was even looking at me. People on some level are naturally self absorbed.

Bowerbird5 · 24/06/2020 12:18

Just enjoy it. I used to live right next to the beach I often used to go during the week on my own. I miss being by the sea though I love where I live now.

OVienna · 24/06/2020 12:22

Is this a 'stealth boast' Wink ????

Metheven · 24/06/2020 12:27

I had an hour or so on my own the other day (at last). I cleaned the bathroom. Seriously, yours is the better option. Enjoy.

Thingsdogetbetter · 24/06/2020 12:28

Other people don't think about you half as much as you seem to think about them thinking about you! They have their own shit to think about - including worrying about what you're thinking about them - and that's enough to fill their minds.

You'll never see something like 90% of people again, so really who cares if the odd one makes a judgement in that instance. They'll have forgotten it in 2 minutes anyway.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 24/06/2020 12:30

I go to the beach alone all the time. I'm usually walking though because I don't like lying on the sand. Don't be self conscious.

LudaMusser · 24/06/2020 12:32

Put your bloody phone down and relax.

changeofheart1234567 · 24/06/2020 12:34

Oh my god, if anyone looks at you OP it will be in total jealousy at your comparative freedom! I haven’t had a moment on my own for 3 months. We are coping fine but I long for the day I can do exactly what you’re doing. You’re in a beautiful little spot but frankly I’d look at a blank wall for 5 hours if I could do it on my own. And I wouldn’t give a stuff who saw me and judged me.

Seriously, enjoy the tranquility. It looks awesome.

pigeon999 · 24/06/2020 12:38

I am SO jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Angry

I am homeschooling and it is 30c, just about to jack it in for the day before I completely lose the will to live! Have fun op!!
