Am I the only one that doesn't like this weather?

This may possibly just be me but I actually can't stand this weather! I get anxiety every summer. The thought of being outside sweating, itching, burning and surrounded by wasps/flies is like my worst nightmare. My poor kids/hubby think I'm insane (they do go outside obv) but I am much happier being in doors with windows open and fresh air/sun coming in than being outside and so uncomfortable. I do burn easily and hate the feeling of suncream (especially when it drips off in white streaks, stains clothes etc...) please someone tell me they have the same experience, I feel particularly naff about it today and friends invited us for a bike ride and felt bit crappy turning them down as I cannot fathom how on earth that would be enjoyable but felt shitty turning them down with no real reason as to why! I often turn stuff like that down in this weather as I just do not enjoy it. Favourite time is around 6pm when it is cooling off so we often do stuff in the eve. Is it just me???

Omg no YANBU. I bloody HATE this weather. Anything over 24 degrees and that's me done for. Are you new to Mumsnet OP? I'm asking because every year there are numerous threads about MNers hating this weather. I'm always pleasantly surprised to find that I'm not alone and that there are many other hot weather haters out there!

For me,it's the contstant sweating that gets me down. I can have a shower, and within 10 minutes of getting dry and dressed I'm a sweaty mess again. It takes all the joy out of everything I do. I know being overweight doesn't help, and I have managed to lose nearly 5 stone in the last 2 years, but I still have another 4 to go. I must admit that my heat tolerance has slightly improved. Whereas before I was breaking out in a sweat the minute it crept over 20 degrees,I've noticed that this year,I can tolerate up to 24 degrees. I'm just hoping that by next summer I'll have managed to lose the rest and 29 degrees won't be a problem!

No, I am surrounded by people and my social media is full of people complaining about the weather. Although I have managed to get through an entire day without being told "it's not the heat it's the humidity" which is nice.

I love this weather. I sleep so much better and my coccyx pain disappears and I just feel a million times better than when it is cold.

ALongHardWinter · 25/06/2020 20:16

BarbedBloom I can sympathise. I have RA too,but fortunately hot weather doesn't cause it to flare up. It's the cold weather that does that, and can make me feel absolutely rotten. However,it still doesn't make me like hot weather! Hope you feel better soon. I'm informed that it's going to cool down considerably on Saturday (20 degrees) Smile.

I am SO HOT. And not in a good way.

SerenityNowwwww · 25/06/2020 23:19

Nooooooooo it was supposed to thunder tomorrow (I love a good thunder storm) it was supposed to rain today but it didn’t happen. I’ve just checked - bloody sunny tomorrow and a piddly bit of rain on Saturday.

I am melting here!

PickAChew · 25/06/2020 23:36

I have a heat rash across my chest.

romdowa · 25/06/2020 23:40

I hate it😨😨 I have a condition that makes my blood pressure very low and my heart rate very high and heat is a huge trigger 😥😥 I'm so sick all day and it's set to be hot again tomorrow. My house is also like a sauna and nothing seems to be bringing the temperature down inside.

It was supposed to be raining and thunderstorms here today (albeit along with the 30° heat) but I'm pissed off as it's uber sunny again. I like nice weather but around 21° is ideal for me. I don't mind being abroad and hot as there's nothing to take care of, such as work, cooking, housework, and it tends to be a dry heat rather than the sticky humid heat you get here.

We had a very loud thunder storm around 4ish this morning, with really heavy rain.

Dog woke me and we went downstairs. Ended up sitting holding her for about an hour, got back to sleep eventually.

That's been it for rain here for now. Hot and sunny again.

I'm very lucky, if I open enough windows my house is very cool and the garden is very shaded.

I like a sunny and warm spring or autumn day but don’t enjoy summer - it only gets worse too, as the evil little fuckers (wasps) are about to start coming out - hate those bastards.
