Am I the only one that doesn't like this weather?

This may possibly just be me but I actually can't stand this weather! I get anxiety every summer. The thought of being outside sweating, itching, burning and surrounded by wasps/flies is like my worst nightmare. My poor kids/hubby think I'm insane (they do go outside obv) but I am much happier being in doors with windows open and fresh air/sun coming in than being outside and so uncomfortable. I do burn easily and hate the feeling of suncream (especially when it drips off in white streaks, stains clothes etc...) please someone tell me they have the same experience, I feel particularly naff about it today and friends invited us for a bike ride and felt bit crappy turning them down as I cannot fathom how on earth that would be enjoyable but felt shitty turning them down with no real reason as to why! I often turn stuff like that down in this weather as I just do not enjoy it. Favourite time is around 6pm when it is cooling off so we often do stuff in the eve. Is it just me???

I can’t stand it. I would be happy to lay in the shade and dip in and out of the pool on holiday. Here though, hate it. I burn, I sweat, I’m uncomfortable and it’s just yuk!
My perfect weather is no jacket and flip flops, no sweat or burning sun. Just pleasant.

I also loathe it. Prolonged sunshine depresses the shit out of me. Throw in some heat and I am beyond miserable. It is reverse SAD www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/brain-babble/201501/reverse-seasonal-affective-disorder-sad-in-the-summer

I think that in the UK the problem is humidity. I love the hot weather in the SW USA where we've been a lot and we loved the very cold winters we got living in Germany, we used to talk about dry squeaky snow that didn't melt, it simply wore away. In both instances there is a lack of humidity to spoil the hot or cold weather.

This why I will never move away from Scotland. The weather suits me perfectly.

I hate summer too. It’s winter where I live at the moment (Australia) and people look at me like I’ve got two heads when I tell them I actually enjoy a grey, rainy day. It’s perfect for a cosy evening on the sofa watching telly with delicious snacks Grin

Summer sends my anxiety soaring and I’m convinced I’ve got summer SAD.

Oh how I wish I could move to Scotland

I hate hot weather. It gives me a sore bead, I hate the way my skin feels and smells when I've been out in the sun, and I don't mean just sweaty. I hate having to wear shorts and t-shirts etc so I don't sweat like a pig. I also get a really bad rash, if I expose any part of my chest from the neck down, to the sun. I hate sun cream, I hate shaving my legs do I can wear shorts. I just bloody hate it.

The highest ever temperature recorded was 93.9c in, you guessed it, Death Valley 1972.

Mid twenties is enough for me!

Christ YABU! I love the hot weather ☀️

I'd be out there all day with my kindle if I wasn't stuck WFH in the conservatory. Chill out, get some vitamin D, tanned skin, what's not to love?!

I do love it at around 21 Degrees, but any warmer and I'm visibly sweaty.
I loathe wasps. The hot nights are awful.

Yet, despite this, my mood is better and I love the longer days.

I love the sun but hate the strong heat. It’s horrible! I went to south of France on holiday a few years ago she hated it there too - it was too hot to move

That should say and hated it there too! I do love a summer evening though when it’s cooler but not chilly. I also find it v difficult to manage 3 little children in this heat.

I bought a portable air-con when I realised that we would be wfh for the foreseeable, my workspace is unbearable in the afternoon when the sun hits that side of the house, so pleased as I never have to suffer again.

I defo can't deal with over 25°, prefer 22° with a light breeze, that is perfect weather for me. I think hay-fever also impacts. My appreciation of summer, being uncomfortable and feeling unwell will generally create a negative association!

It's been too warm for me today. Our house is very old with thick walls so I've been indoors mostly today. It makes me really tired and lethargic when it's hot.

Hate it, I love dark skies and clouds, my favourite sound is when the wind whips around the trees. I love rain and thunder storms. I think I may be a vampire or Scandinavian or something, my heart sinks when they announce a heatwave.

I like it just warm enough to not need a coat. To take a light wrap with me just in case, but find I don't need it. I hate sitting in the full sun. I just like it exactly how I want it. Not much to ask, is it?

Me too. Were you born in March? My late mother maintained that your birth month players part in the weather you found most comfortable

I just wish we could have Spring most of the year but with the longer lighter nights that we have in the Summer.
I love it when it's still light at 10pm or even 11pm or midnight the farther North you go.
Then at Christmas we'd have proper snow but bright blue skies & crisp cold weather.

If I was in charge of the weather it wouldn't get hotter than 22C & I'd banish high humidity.

Seriously I think the problem is that our country is not just cut for very hot weather e.g. lack of air con everywhere.
But then again we're not very good with the opposite extreme either.

Nope. I was born in November and hate winter. Dark skies make me feel very low. I get SAD in winter good and proper.

I love the hot weather but my husband and children hate it. They are all fair and burn easily but I get so annoyed when they spend the whole (1 week) of nice weather moaning.

I don't like it but I don't have a garden to enjoy just a flat that gets extremely hot ! Give me a sunny autumn day with a nip in the air any day !

I much prefer dry, bright, sunny weather. I hate trudging about in the cool, dark and damp in winter. I work outside as well and winters can be really hard as it’s just so uncomfortable the whole time. The sun just makes me feel better. It does have a downside in that people are out longer and they’re noisier which is irritating when I’m on an early shift the day after.

It feels really warm here today (NW England) but I’ve got loads of errands to run and I’d far rather be doing it in this weather than in cold/wind/rain. The first Friday after lockdown started I had to go to the supermarket, it was freezing cold and windy and I had to wait over an hour to get in. I didn’t feel warm for the rest of the w.
