Am I the only one that doesn't like this weather?

This may possibly just be me but I actually can't stand this weather! I get anxiety every summer. The thought of being outside sweating, itching, burning and surrounded by wasps/flies is like my worst nightmare. My poor kids/hubby think I'm insane (they do go outside obv) but I am much happier being in doors with windows open and fresh air/sun coming in than being outside and so uncomfortable. I do burn easily and hate the feeling of suncream (especially when it drips off in white streaks, stains clothes etc...) please someone tell me they have the same experience, I feel particularly naff about it today and friends invited us for a bike ride and felt bit crappy turning them down as I cannot fathom how on earth that would be enjoyable but felt shitty turning them down with no real reason as to why! I often turn stuff like that down in this weather as I just do not enjoy it. Favourite time is around 6pm when it is cooling off so we often do stuff in the eve. Is it just me???

I've gained some more bloody ant bites. I react horribly to them. I've almost clawed my foot off.

Every fucking year, we get this on here. It’s a couple of weeks...

Soon enough you’ll be having your “cosy autumn nights in jumpers and hot chocolate

Go tell that to the poor bastards who had to wear a face covering/mask on the Tube this morning.

Fucking sadistic Tories bringing that in just in time for the summer

Humidity, insects, sweaty bed sheets, sunburn. Yeah what's not to love?

I fucking hate every minute of it. I am covered in midgie bites, and they're not just the red dot on me, they itch for sometimes over a week and I live on Piriton and Anthisan. My hayfever has been so bad this year I had to consult the GP. I'm so over this. Fucking hate long days, too.

We have just had 3 warm days, you'd think it was months.Last week was torrential rain, thunder, flash floods.
I've been working long days in ppe in a hospital with bad ventilation so 29°c today.
Tommorrow (or later today now) I can actually enjoy it.Is us due to rain here from Friday onwards.

Never mind the weather is going to be crap again tomorrow. So you will all be happy sat indoors watching the rain lash down (probably for the rest of the summer).

27 degrees here, but with a breeze. Rain for several days from tomorrow Sad

@DisobedientHamster DH is a walking buffet for biting insects and uses Autan insect repellent. It is very effective, and he has had only one bite this year.

I hate hot weather and would have no qualms about explaining this to friends. Maybe suggest something cooler, later in the day, or indoors, sometime, so you can still see them, but on your own terms. They might think it's a tiny bit odd, since apparently it's "normal" to love summer, but at least they'll know you're not avoiding them.

I am melting. I can’t stand the heat. We aren’t geared up for stinky heat in the U.K.

Today has been a bit draining.I love the spring and summer months though.I have SAD in the winter and can feel it creeping on in october.I even invested in a.light box as I feel so dreadful in the cold and dark months.

It makes me feel ill and want rip out and the carpets and soft furnishings because the house feels so uncomfortable.

I'm counting down the hours until tomorrow 🥵.The forecast says it will be 8-10 degrees cooler and then low 20s for the foreseeable 👍

I hate that I can't sleep at night, last night was horrendous and I think tonight will be worse as thunderstorms predicted in the early hours which will bring the humidity.

I’m on nights this week and trying to sleep in the heat is awful, it’s not good the the patients on the wards of an evening either - the hospital is like a sauna! I can’t wait for the cooler weather to return

Oh I love it, although I would prefer if the temperature dropped significantly at night.
I don’t mind a few days of rain So long as we get some hot sunny days.
I hate cold.

What I don't like is weather presenters assuming that people like this weather.

Hate this weather over here. I'm sitting in front of a fan and keep spraying Magicool over myself to try to cool off. It's not working!
I've got a really unpleasant sweat rash between my boobs too 🥵

Love the hot weather abroad though but can go for a swim when I get too warm. Plus no housework chores to do!

Oddly, I find the older I get the better I am able to tolerate the heat; probably a hormonal thing.

I don't like it now, but when I was a young woman I really hated it, especially having to travel into the City on the tube.

I'm retired now so can stay in the house with all the windows open or in my shady garden.

That's fine, but I hate the fact that I can't take my dog out for a walk. She keeps doing these little yippy barks and looking at me in a 'where's my walk' way. We won't get a walk this evening it's still too hot for her.

Hate it, unless abroad with air-con, low humidity and a pool. Makes me feel so lethargic, gives me headaches, difficult to sleep, makes everything about having two pre-schoolers 10X harder.. Etc etc.

Mind you, I also dislike winter and the dark nights.

Spring and Autumn fan here. Moderate temps, days long and light enough to not be so bleak but dark at the 'proper' night times! None of this day starting at 4am thing Grin

What I don't like is weather presenters assuming that people like this weather.

Because most people do like nice weather. Mumsnet has a disproportionate number of posters who hate summer. In RL most people love warmer weather, longer days, not having to have the heating on, being able to dry washing outside etc.

And not all of us live in London and the south east, so don't get the ridiculous temperatures that some of you are getting. Where I live, after tomorrow we won't hit 20 degrees+ for at least a week.

Well I am in Wales and it says 32 degrees here. I am in the bedroom which is North facing with the curtains shut. It has really helped.

I spent yesterday bedridden as the heat flares my RA. I have a horrible heat rash and nothing is working on my hayfever. I went and sat in the garden at 2am last night and it was lovely. My poor cats haven't moved all day and are lying in here with me in the shade.

I am glad for some people who are enjoying the heat and sunshine, but I just cannot cope.
