Do you walk around 10,000 steps (most days)?

It's approx 5 miles

If not, what are main reasons you can't/don't?

Pre Covid I used to average around 15000 steps per day. I have short legs and a short stride, though!

Nope, very dodgy ankle (needs fusion/replacement), plus dodgy hip on the other side. If I push it I can do 6,000 but after that I can't put any weight on the ankle for the rest of the day. Am trying to see if I can increase gradually from an average of around 3,000 - walking up and down my driveway in lockdown was actually quite helpful!

@CherryValanc

Think it depends on what's measuring your steps. I've never forgotten the thread where posters were full sure they did 2,000 steps making breakfast and unloading the dishwasher.
Also depends on your house. I've counted and mine is 50 steps from the back door to the laundry room/downstairs loo (it's very long and thin). Add a few trips upstairs and I can easily do 3,000 steps pottering around the house and (also small) garden all day. Not before 10am though!

Ten thousand minimum but I don’t usually wear my Fitbit at home so it’s probably more.

No, nowhere near. I have a sedentary job.
Before this pandemic, I would commonly walk fewer than 1000 steps per day - sometime under 500
Since we've shut down, I've made a determined effort to walk for an hour a day, so now get to about 8000ish steps a day, but whilst 'normal life' is on, I rarely have an hour during daylight to just go out and walk for pleasure.
