Why are ASDA normalising paedophilia and Child Abuse?

Sunkisses · 16/06/2020 08:02

Is it OK for ASDA to send parents emails linking to an organisation that normalises paedophilia with red flag phrases such as "love has no age", and recommending books for children that contain explicit descriptions of child sex abuse? Why are they doing this? Are ASDA experts in home schooling and safeguarding? More details in this excellent thread by Safe Schools Alliance: twitter.com/SafeSchools_UK/status/1272638132589035520

@Whataloadofshite

Oh it's another trans and LGB hate thread, of course it is.
Do you think it is appropriate for 11 year olds to read books normalising six year olds giving blow jobs?

oh it’s another post about how mean women are for complaining about the breaching of children’s safeguarding.....
MrsFogi · 16/06/2020 22:23

It is horrifying however seems to be the direction Asda is moving in - "woke" all the way. Haven't they also introduced pronoun badges for staff? Definitely worth an email to complain.

FOJN · 16/06/2020 22:24

Oh it's another trans and LGB hate thread, of course it is.

It's a thread about a large supermarket sponsoring concerning educational material for children, the theme here is grooming and safeguarding.

PIE did enormous damage to the gay rights movement in the late 70's/early 80's, I think most people here are very keen to distinguish between LGBT and sexual predators so that history does not repeat itself.

Bunbunbunny · 16/06/2020 22:27

This thread has made me feel ill, I can't understand why a supermarket thinks it should be doing this. I showed my DH the dice game and we're both horrified by it, it ok to teach children about sexual acts but girls are not taught about their fertility etc? It's so wrong, how can anyone think that dice game is a good idea?!!!

frostedviolets · 16/06/2020 22:32

History IS repeating itself.
MAP is being included under the umbrella of LGBT.
The material promoted by Asda sexualises children and okays paedophilia ‘love has no age limit’ for example and the insinuation they love = sexual relationship

The gay community has not fully recovered from PIE.
I personally know people who still think homosexuals are deviant.
This will do untold damage.

Never on any Mumsnet thread, has a poster’s online name, suited them so well!

It's not though. People are shocked by the lumping in of paedophile propaganda with mainstream normal ideas of mixed race couples and gay marriage. Where is the LGBT hate?
FlamingoAndJohn · 16/06/2020 22:37

I’m all for teaching children same sex relationships. Teaching that families all look different, one mum, one dad, a mum and dad, mum and mum, dad and dad. I’m completely behind that.

My concern is the word attraction, that simply isn’t how young Primary aged children feel. Ask a Primary aged child who they want to marry and they will tell you their best friend. Granted this could be different for children in year 6 who will want to marry someone famous. But the idea of attraction simply isn’t there yet.
To tell a child that to be sexually active at 6 is normal is so very wrong.

Don't be so sodding ridiculous. This thread is objecting to unsuitable sexualised material being given to all children. Let kids be kids - they don't need this sexualisation, and there are so v good safeguarding policies prohibiting it.

FOJN · 16/06/2020 22:39

frostedviolets
You could well be right. MAP's are desperately trying to get themselves added to LGBTQIAA+ as a valid sexuality, they argue their preferences are harmless as long as they don't act on them. I think we must resist at all costs, I have no desire to collect woke cookies by normalising sexual attraction to minors regardless of whether they act on the attraction.

JemimaShore · 16/06/2020 22:41

It's very clear what posters are objecting here - primary kids being told "love is love" and "love has no age limit" - PIE slogans of the past. If we don't learn from the past, we are lost.

That awful dice.

That book describing a six year old giving oral sex - sorry - I mean the child sexual abuse of a six year old.

You seriously think that makes us anti-LGBT? Give your head a wobble.

LovelyLion · 16/06/2020 22:41

WHAT exactly is being taught under RSE and PSHE (ask to see the lesson plans etc)

A thousand times this. Sex and relationships education is undergoing massive change at the moment, and parents really ought to know precisely what is being taught in schools.

I had a huge battle on my hands making sure the kids in my school didn’t get taught incorrect information in PSHE and I was the person responsible for PSHE! The head had been sent stuff from stonewall and genuinely thought that stonewall were a reputable charity and therefore must be right. I only knew enough to correct him because of MN.

cheeseismydownfall · 16/06/2020 22:43

Can someone confirm if the dice game is included / linked to in the Asda materials? I thought it was a separate issue highlighted by Baroness Nicholson on Twitter?

Oh it's another trans and LGB hate thread, of course it is.

I have an issue with sexualised heterosexual material being given to young children. The material is inappropriate for the age of the target audience. When MPs are having to actively legislate to remove the “rough sex” defence to murder (after 60 women have died) we really need to think carefully about the messages about sex our children are getting.

It's a separate issue from a pack for children in schools - written by the Proud Trust and funded via the tampon Tax. . See here for background information:

FemaleAndLearning · 16/06/2020 22:53

Perhaps a copy of that book should be sent to the Asda CEO.

SerenityNowwwww · 16/06/2020 22:54

For his kids?

Binterested · 16/06/2020 22:55

Sorry I referenced the dice game. That comes from a different dodgy outfit pumping this crap into schools - that one is paid for with taxpayers’ money and tampon tax money. This one Asda is paying for.

So sick of this shit.

PIE aligned itself to gay/civil rights movements of the 60s/70s. They have never gone away. Unfortunately, history didn't seem to judge them as harshly, or as quickly, as it should have.

Hopefully, it won't be the same this time around. Too many of us are all too aware of it now.

Paedophiles are DESPERATE to be recognised as part of the LGBT.

PIE collapsed when it's founders were convicted of child abuse.Eg. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-36622992 Let's not leave it that long this time.

JemimaShore · 16/06/2020 23:06

In the light of this, it is now sadly necessary for all parents now to check up on the material being used for RSE/PHSE lessons in their children's schools.

Make sure you do this.

We have a say in what our children are being taught in school.

Institutkarite · 16/06/2020 23:09

@BojoKilledMyMojo

Haven't read the full thread. Not really sure why Asda are releasing such a pack but there we go. There's a video which accompanies it, and the love has no age limits refers to an elderly couple in the video. I think the dice game is very healthy for secondary school children to play, as whether people like it or not, they are exposed to porn at increasingly young ages, and it's better to have a mature, sensible, fact led discussion than they all think what the see, and hear about, from porn is the norm.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with the book either. If kids don't see from a child's perspective just how easily they were groomed, how are they supposed to make informed healthy decisions?

Throw the dice and get anal to anal, it's difficult but much fun can be had from this position. That's a direct quote from that dice game. If you think that this is ok for children to read and engage with this game. Then looks like BoJo killed all your brain cells too.

I have just opened the letter and I can't find anything like what you say.. I'm very much interested though could someone screenshot the relevant section/s perhaps ? And post it on here ?
Thanks in advance.. Blush

I'd be very grateful if you'd not put gay people into the same category as paedophiles. I thought we'd come a lot further than this?

Having said that, I can't stop thinking about that poor butch lesbian mentioned earlier in the thread who works for Asda.

How is it possible in this day and age that people don't know what a butch lesbian looks like but will screech TWAW! about a bloke with a beard?
