Yes we can book hair appointments, nail appointments and banish the roots in a matter of weeks. We can shop today!! We are counting down the days to hotels, restaurants and bars opening. We are breaking out.

We have turned a corner in England people!!

The lockdown is ending at long last - so what are you doing today?

Porcupineinwaiting · 15/06/2020 08:39

Staying at home and working. Avoiding other people and certainly busy places for at least the next month.

RedTravellingSocks · 15/06/2020 08:39

I'm staying at home, working, and comforting my DH whose father died yesterday. He has not been able to travel to see him because we are observing restrictions. And we will continue to do so.

Enjoy your trip to Primark though Hmm

pigeon999 · 15/06/2020 08:39

Kids need shoes gin they need both feet measured Grin We have some special birthdays coming up so cards as well. I actually can not wait to do something normal.
Afterwards ice cream, then a bike ride and a little more homeschool before dinner.

Chances of us catching CoVid? Zero! The entire county is virus free, even the hospitals have waved off their last patients. Our CoVid wards have closed and staff redeployed.

I for one will be going out and living my life whilst I can. I work long hours, longer still with the homeschool. And YES schools need to reopen!!

@Sandybval I’m angry at all those parents who cried out saying the schools aren’t safe yet will happily take their kids shopping etc.
The government too, of course - who isn’t angry at them right now? Putting the economy before our children’s education. Angry

Hingeandbracket · 15/06/2020 08:40

The death rate was super low

Super low death rate? Don't you feel that's even a trifle insensitive?

As for me, I will be at home hitting the internet trying to get a new job. No money for any non-essential shopping.

TARSCOUT · 15/06/2020 08:41

Working but only because I'm in Scotland. If I wasn't I'd be doing the same as you 😀

scarbados · 15/06/2020 08:41

@HauntedGoatFart

And the reason for picking on me because I'm staying in doing a job for the NHS locally is what exactly? Any different from home-schooling? Other working from home?

Go fuck yourself.

GinDrinker00 · 15/06/2020 08:41

Virus feee? I take it you’re not from England then.

pigeon999 · 15/06/2020 08:41

I am not going to primark - I am not brave enough, nothing wrong with it, but we support local businesses here.

OP posts:
missymousey · 15/06/2020 08:41

You're excited about shopping. Are you for real?

Purplewithred · 15/06/2020 08:41

Going to the cash point in my local small town high street, taking out a wedge of cash, and spending it in local independent shops that have opened for the first time today. We’ve been really lucky - sensible elderly parents too far away for us to care for, young enough to not be at great risk if we catch the virus, and plenty of overtime opportunities.

pigeon999 · 15/06/2020 08:42

sorry to hear about your father red Flowers

damekindness · 15/06/2020 08:42

Can't say I fancy the shops ( even if I had the time) the thought of queuing up for ages per shop, to look at items from a distance whilst being distracted by needing a wee whilst worrying about getting the COVID

I'm out

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 15/06/2020 08:42

I need to go to work, and I worry the tubes will be crowded. It's still "special service".

DesmondTheMoonbear · 15/06/2020 08:42

Someone really should have told me that it's National Piss On The Op's Cornflakes Day. I almost missed out.

Ohdearfindingthisboringnow · 15/06/2020 08:42

Never been that into 'shopping' so won't be rushing off to the shops. I tend to be a only go if I really have to with shopping. Could never understand the hours some spent wandering around looking at clothing/things to buy...

I will be working from home/Microsoft teams and home schooling at the same time/doing the housework/and spinning plates as usual

Frage · 15/06/2020 08:43

Wish I had the luxury of being able to go out shopping all day

I wish I had the luxury of not having lost my job as a direct result of lockdown, @Midsommar

I can look in the shops all I like, and that's what I will be doing because I have hated being trapped at home, but I haven't got any money to spend in them.

Swings and roundabouts.

Nobodysdiary · 15/06/2020 08:44

I’ve just seen the pictures of the queues outside Primark. They look so ridiculous I am questioning if they’re real.

Libertylee · 15/06/2020 08:44

Not working today, but not remotely interested in queueing for shops- all done online if needed. Won’t be rushing back

BarkandCheese · 15/06/2020 08:45

@GinDrinker00

Virus feee? I take it you’re not from England then.
Op said county not country. Her county probably is covid free, many are.
Endless11 · 15/06/2020 08:45

Chances of us catching CoVid? Zero! The entire county is virus free, even the hospitals have waved off their last patients. Our CoVid wards have closed and staff redeployed.

Where are you OP?

Endless11 · 15/06/2020 08:46

Oh sorry missed the fact that it said county - but anyway, which county Smile?

Bluesheep8 · 15/06/2020 08:46

I'm so jealous of those south of the border. Nicola has us all locked up still.

Nicola has got it right in my opinion.
I'm WFH, same as every weekday for the last 3 months. I will not be rushing into non essential shops just for the sake of it. And I wish all those who are would do the same.Hmm

DontStandSoClose · 15/06/2020 08:46

My sister looks after the figures for our area, she messaged this morning to say the number of cases in hospital have gone up considerably since last week. I’d hold off your celebrations and trip to primarni for now.

Quarantimespringclean · 15/06/2020 08:47

I will be stewarding at our church which is opening for 3 hours today so people can attend for private prayer. I think it will be tough going as a lot of the older parishioners (who are the people who generally visit to pray on week days) won’t take kindly to being told that they can’t sit in their usual pew or light candles and that they have to wear PPE. I’m hoping the parish priest will be around for this first session as they will be more co-operative with him than they would with a young whippersnapper (late fifties!) like me.
