Yes we can book hair appointments, nail appointments and banish the roots in a matter of weeks. We can shop today!! We are counting down the days to hotels, restaurants and bars opening. We are breaking out.

We have turned a corner in England people!!

The lockdown is ending at long last - so what are you doing today?

bright I am already getting a kicking, clearly no one read the memo about being kind to Pigeons today Grin

We’re off to the zoo today!! So excited for an actual day out

pigeon999 · 15/06/2020 08:58

I rarely shopped (other than food and pharmacy) from long before anyone had ever heard of coronavirus so nothing is going to change for me.

However if you want to shop then go ahead and enjoy yourself.

Doggodogington · 15/06/2020 08:59

Op didn’t ask whether you virus experts thought it was safe, OP asked what you are doing today.
I’m in Wales so no shopping for me sadly. Will do some schoolwork with the kids.

MotherWol · 15/06/2020 08:59

I just don’t really need anything. The few things we have wanted I’ve been able to get online, so I don’t see any need to go to the shops. We might go into town next week for lunch, but on the whole I don’t think things will be any different for us just yet.

LellyMcKelly · 15/06/2020 08:59

Not going to the shops, that’s for sure.

ShadowMane · 15/06/2020 09:00

The people queueing at Primark looked mainly young teenagers, i dont blame them for wanting a bit of fun clothes shopping. Not my scene (hate queues) but I'm not judging them, or sneering. If it makes them happy to grab a bit of pre covid normality- just let them enjoy it

pigeon999 · 15/06/2020 09:00

only you sup that beer in the garden, enjoy the sunshine on your face you deserve it after the last three months holed up in the twilight zone Gin Wine

Wll you report back honestly what it is like, Pigeon? I

longwayoff · 15/06/2020 09:00

Hmm. Today, putting on a mask and gloves, getting a bus into town, queuing for an hour or more to buy things I cant touch, can't afford and dont need followed by reverse journey home. No thanks, waiting in for Waitrose.

NoHardSell · 15/06/2020 09:01

Enjoy

Crowds are not my thing and I've got a fair bit of work to get through but I'm looking forward to having a mooch in a week or so

If it's a shit experience I'm sticking to online. I've started a hit list of shops that are not worth bothering with. Any that closed down when it wasn't compulsory have lost my business to Amazon etc. Any that make it soulless with ridiculous measures they have invented on top of government guidance can do one as well.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 15/06/2020 09:01

In Wales so can't go but I'm longing to feel normal and have a mooch around the shops. I'm not convinced it's safe though, not everywhere. But if I lived in a place where there had been no new infections, I'd probably go in a week or so when the loos were open again 😊

corythatwas · 15/06/2020 09:01

Staying at home and working.

I don't grudge you your day out, OP, but for me starting to behave like there was no longer an infection risk might literally mean sacrificing my daughter's life.

Please show a little understanding for those of us who still have good reason to be frightened.

HelloMissus · 15/06/2020 09:01

DSsaid he was going to buy some clothes.

Since he’s never knowingly agreed to do this before I can only assume he’s bored to tears.

recycledteenager24 · 15/06/2020 09:02

have fun pigeon and do update on your shop day won't you? Smile

Marathonnotasprint · 15/06/2020 09:02

I’m having a blood sample taken later for the antibody test. This is so I know if I am still at risk for the coming waves. The shopping frenzy is just one of many examples which show it (almost certainly) is just a question of time - remember that feeling in January-early February when it seemed so far away?

pigeon999 · 15/06/2020 09:02

sharp have a wonderful day with your kiddies. What an absolute treat. Anyone looking to take their dc to gardens and zoos would do well to book well in advance. It looks busy everywhere.

I have followed the restrictions to the letter, and now it is over I am ready to reclaim my life. I am thinking sorbet or strawberries and cream?

ragged · 15/06/2020 09:02

Pigeon -- I'm genuinely glad you found reasons to be cheerful today. Maybe the shops will be Q-free for you (judging by this thread) & bargains will abound. I have to say, though, don't ask a question if you can't handle the answers.

my guess is you'll find plenty of crowded shops & other excited folk indulging in retail therapy.

U2HasTheEdge · 15/06/2020 09:03

ohh I forgot about zoos being open.

Adds that to the things to do next week...

ragged · 15/06/2020 09:03

ps: zoos not open around here at all yet, but are on my list ASAP.

UnicornAndSparkles · 15/06/2020 09:03

Staying at home, working and entertaining a 2yr old. Much the same as I have done every day since lockdown began!

Henio · 15/06/2020 09:04

Your chances of catching it are not zero op, what if someone from another county which has covid cases decides to travel to your county today and go into the same shops as you?

CarlaH · 15/06/2020 09:05

@pigeon999

Kids need shoes gin they need both feet measured Grin We have some special birthdays coming up so cards as well. I actually can not wait to do something normal. Afterwards ice cream, then a bike ride and a little more homeschool before dinner.

Chances of us catching CoVid? Zero! The entire county is virus free, even the hospitals have waved off their last patients. Our CoVid wards have closed and staff redeployed.

I for one will be going out and living my life whilst I can. I work long hours, longer still with the homeschool. And YES schools need to reopen!!

Cases have risen in my area. Only slightly but we certainly aren't virus free here.
Jkslays · 15/06/2020 09:05

Home schooling this morning the going to view two units I need to rent for my business.

Then if the weather is still nice I’m going open water swimming 🏊‍♀️
