White bedding is the best

I never thought so.
I would buy colourful bedding with patterns.
Then one day I needed an unusual size to fit the new duvet and the only one in the shop was white.
Good quality cotton, but white.
I bought it thinking well this sucks.
Oh was I wrong.
I washed it yesterday and dried it in the sun and this morning I feel in heaven.
Plus the room looks bigger.
If I didn’t have a small baby and no time I would have ironed it. Oh my, imagine it all steam ironed 😍😍😍

Mine's white linen, gets softer every time I wash it and doesn't need ironing.

AsCoolAsLangCleg · 14/06/2020 20:22

Stripped and changed this morning... is it too early for bed? Grin

Big fan of Soak&Sleep’s pure French linen white bedding here. I detest and despise ironing but I don’t have a dryer - and I am a fusspot who hates the dishevelled and crumpled look. It was revelatory to discover that I can simply wash and hang out the linen bedding, put it straight back on the bed and it looks like linen is meant to look ie slightly rustic and intentionally creased. I have replaced all my bedding with linen now, including the children’s; they have a selection of mix-and-match dusty pink, duck egg blue and midnight grey.

Floatyboat · 14/06/2020 20:49

Yes same with dinner plates

bluefoxmug · 14/06/2020 20:53

white dinner plates = cheap mass catering...

Silenceisnotgolden · 14/06/2020 21:21

Yep. Keep it simple, op. Even better if it’s seersucker because they’re no need to iron it Grin

I used to have a cotton ivory sort of colour duvet cover, with a large embroidered area, in similar but maybe very slightly darker colour. Loved it. Had it about about 15 years, apart from being slightly worn it was quite grubby inner top, so cut it up for cleaning cloths ☹️. White I probably would find a little stark, so ivory was a good alternative. Really should have got two. Got it from Rosebys (sp?)

InglouriousBasterd · 14/06/2020 22:39

Black long haired cat = impossible to have white sheets here! Also I love wacky prints, they make me smile.

EngagedAgain · 14/06/2020 22:42

Oh and it was cotton percale, never needed ironing. Perfect!

Soontobe60 · 14/06/2020 22:44

I have some white bedding, I love it! When I wash it I use a very hot wash, so that helps to stop the machine from going smelly too.

Appuskidu · 14/06/2020 22:52

If you have white bedding, what colour are your curtains/walls/floor?

We have cream curtains/walls and beige-cream carpet. I tend to go for cream bedding as I didn’t think white would go with all the cream!

whattodo2019 · 14/06/2020 22:55

Very bed in my house has white bedding. I live Sunday's when I wash all the sheets and duvets and hang them on the line. They look glorious in the sunshine

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 14/06/2020 22:58

Oh god, no. My hair is bright pink and I get sweaty in bed. Can you imagine the carnage of white bedding? It would look like a murder scene every morning. My bedding is always dark, dark, dark. Like my soul Grin

atimetobealive · 14/06/2020 23:20

I have found my people.

I have white bedding and the kids have white bedding 😍

MissFlite · 14/06/2020 23:31

White bed linen for me too! Feels very restful.

Mytupenceworth · 14/06/2020 23:32

White bedding here too, absolutely love it. The first set I bought is over five years old and still perfect.

KittyMcKitty · 14/06/2020 23:34

I’ve only ever had white bedding- it is totally the best.

Wash on 40 with Persil non bio and it always stays looking beautiful.

caringcarer · 15/06/2020 01:16

Yep I love white bedding.

eyesbiggerthanstomach · 15/06/2020 01:19

I only sleep in white bedding here too.

GrumpyHoonMain · 15/06/2020 02:02

I don’t like it because it needs ironing to look expensive. I prefer greys

BruceAndNosh · 15/06/2020 06:36

@Silenceisnotgolden

Seersucker is a revelation! I love it
Ardessa · 15/06/2020 06:40

400 tc minimum and white, you can't go wrong.

ChristmasFluff · 15/06/2020 10:50

My bedroom is black, red, gold and white. So I could have white bedding, but I much prefer the other colours.

lachy · 15/06/2020 11:09

All white here too, there's something really soothing about a bed freshly made with crisp white bedding.
