White bedding is the best

I never thought so.
I would buy colourful bedding with patterns.
Then one day I needed an unusual size to fit the new duvet and the only one in the shop was white.
Good quality cotton, but white.
I bought it thinking well this sucks.
Oh was I wrong.
I washed it yesterday and dried it in the sun and this morning I feel in heaven.
Plus the room looks bigger.
If I didn’t have a small baby and no time I would have ironed it. Oh my, imagine it all steam ironed 😍😍😍

I love my white sheets! If they get marks on them you can bleach / peroxide the hell out of them. You can't dothat with colour!

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 14/06/2020 09:28

I recently switched to white bedding - I love it! It’s not plain, both my sets have white embroidery. The room looks much bigger and fresher now.

iwilltaketwoplease · 14/06/2020 09:32

I love my white bedding too!
No make up marks here either, still as white as when I bought it. I do use a light pink or light grey bottom sheet for a little colour.

AlphaJura · 14/06/2020 09:34

Not for me. I quite like paisley prints in turquoise, pink, red and black, maybe cream. My dp is a builder so everything gets filthy and worn out even though he always has a bath before getting into bed 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Ilovemypantry · 14/06/2020 09:36

All my bedding sets are white. Always look so clean and crisp and go with any decor. Wouldn’t have anything else now.

DappledThings · 14/06/2020 09:43

when we move bedding will be all white, and everything in the room except green plants

Ah, Dentist waiting room chic. So underrated.

pinktaxi · 14/06/2020 09:44

It always looks crumpled to me which is irritating and untidy. A pattern takes the eye away from crumples.

notheragain4 · 14/06/2020 09:46

@DappledThings that's a bit unnecessarily bitchy.

SebandAlice · 14/06/2020 09:48

It should be the law that bedding is only white.

TowelHoarder · 14/06/2020 09:51

Yes! I love it, after years of my mum telling me I couldn’t have white bedding or towels because it would get stained I woke up one day and thought to myself “I’m 30 years old, I can have whatever bedding and towels I want, and I don’t want to be that person with mountains of mismatched 20 year old crusty towels in my airing cupboard“ and I went out and bought them and they make my bedroom and bathroom look bigger and cleaner and I’m happier with them.

Also, my mum was wrong, I just put a bit of varnish on any stains and they come out looking great.

LeonoraFlorence · 14/06/2020 09:51

I have always loved white bedding. Looks so fresh and bright.

CherryPavlova · 14/06/2020 09:52

All ours is white. Looks cleaner and is crisper after its back from the laundry.
A thin coloured line on the edge of a few is as far as I’ll go.

dementedma · 14/06/2020 09:55

I splashed out during lockdown boredom on some white bedding from Dusk. It just has a thin line of pale blue piping. I really love it and will have to get some more now!!!

DappledThings · 14/06/2020 09:55

DappledThings that's a bit unnecessarily bitchy.

Ah come on. I'm only teasing. I'm sure the white aesthetic fans think my house looks like a horror show.

borntobequiet · 14/06/2020 09:57

Cream is better.

WeyIand · 14/06/2020 09:59

All white bedding here too. It always looks lovely, clean and fresh (don't iron, it even looks fine crumpled). We have one king bed and two doubles, but all have king-size duvets and bottom sheets, so no worries about mixing up the sets.

ememem84 · 14/06/2020 09:59

White bedding here. Grey curtains. Grey wardrobe and pale grey walls. Colour comes from a golden yellow throw dh bought me and some yellow cushions.

Before I latched into the yellow things were dusky pink. If I fancy a chance just change the accessories.

Hagisonthehill · 14/06/2020 10:06

DD has coloured bedding,I have a month X but white is my favourite. All sheets and pillowcases are white.
White walls but accessories colourful.
White towels too,I'm not a fan but DD uses acnecide so all the colours towels have faded blobs on them before I realised.
Also a white plate fan but have brightly coloured serving dishes.
I've never had a problem with sheets yellowing.

Nanalisa60 · 14/06/2020 10:09

I love white bedding , all my own bedding for my bed is white cotton, it like the feeling you get from it feels like I. I. A nice hotel.

M&S white washing powder, vanish white, and lavender comfort, on a 60’ wash, then dry on washing line even better is the sun is out!!

One of my sets are probably about six years old and still looks likes new.

Oldraver · 14/06/2020 10:16

I always have white/cream sheets, top and bottom then a colourful bedspread...best of both worlds

John Lewis do a massive range of white bedding with patterns on (similar to the one you posted) but only seem to do duvet covers and pillowcases. I wish they would extend the range to include top sheets

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2020 10:28

@TranielleRadcliffe Good for you.

Astonish, Aldi, Waitrose, M&S, Sainsburys are all buav approved. Ecover and method got bought by companies who test.

Wilko manufacturers safety data sheets are written by astonish so I think their safe too. Most supermarket own brand are.

The only thing I can’t replace is windowlene cream so I just use soap and water instead 🤷🏻‍♀️.

fourquenelles · 14/06/2020 10:34

All white here despite having 3 large dogs who share the bed. I do have a washable throw on top though to try and keep the fur shed off the duvet cover. Love white bedding what's ironing?

I use Head and Shoulders, Persil and Fairy! Angry All are P&G. I’ll use up what I’ve already bought whilst I search for new that are cruelty free. I’ll definitely look into the own brands.

Shopping has become so difficult now!

ShinyMe · 14/06/2020 11:20

Nope! Too high maintenance for me, plus I I have a black cat who likes to sprawl.

My favourite bedding is all bright or pinky floral or botanical, or bright stripes.

MrsDaveGrohl78 · 14/06/2020 11:47

God I can't have white, I dye my hair weird and wonderful colours and the colour transfers...!
