WTAF - Far right protests

Poppi89 · 12/06/2020 11:18

I have just heard on the radio that far-right protesters will be out tomorrow in response to the BLM protesters. People are being urged not to be out in support of BLM tomorrow due to the aggressive nature of the far-right group and BLM protests are being cancelled because of them.

I am outraged by this. The BLM protesters are asking for people to not be killed due to the colour of their skin. They have rightly or wrongly made a decision to put themselves at risk of COVID-19 to help spread this message - a lot of people have called them idiots etc for doing this.

The far-right protests are now also protesting in large groups (but not in response to a murder) and are 'known' for being aggressive. How is this acceptable?

I would like to hear from anyone who is planning to join/agree with these far-right protests and their reasons why?

Happy for you to point out a particular individual in the video clip, or link to another video - I don't mind admitting when I am wrong.

I must admit, I’m quite shocked/alarmed by the number of people who aren’t (or are pretending to not be) aware that nazi salutes, swastikas and general neo-nazi behaviour and appearance are synonymous with the far right. It’s a whole far right subculture/lifestyle. Just like I’d expect to see joyous rainbow flags at a gay pride rally or Che Guevara and Bob Dylan t-shirts at a student protest. I’d be more surprised if there wasn’t nazi salutes seen at any point.

Have people really never encountered or been aware of the far right in this country until last weekend?!!! Hmm They’ve been a plague for decades now, especially in the late 80s and 90s and they’ve been rearing their ugly heads again recently. Just google image “far right groups nazi salutes” and you’ll get millions of picture results to highlight the subculture.

Same here and I have never before agreed with Clavinova in all the years she and I have done battle. There’s no way I’m an apologist for these thugs but I’ve watched that video zoomed in half a dozen times and I’m still not getting Nazi salutes.

@Devlesko

Naziism is on the rise across Europe, ethnic minorities are scared, open your eyes, we have nothing like that here. Just a handful of far right activists.
And I also agree with this. Our far right culture thankfully isn’t as frightening as other places in Europe. But it’s growing at a worrying pace.

Has anyone got a pic of the nutter with a swastika tattooed on his chest? He was out for a shirtless gentle memorial- protecting stroll on Saturday. I expect he just liked the pattern.

Yes, and Sharia law is exceptionally right wing.

Your first link is a still photo of Smilethoyourheartisbreaking's link - it's blurred in any case.

Are these Nazi salutes? Fists and open fingers?

I also suppose with all the obviously very genuine concern for working class kid's poverty on here by the Eva Brauns, they will be disgusted about Johnson's decision on free school meals.

StormzyinaTCup · 15/06/2020 17:21

I'm just posting these here, images you won't find on social media as it doesn't fit the narrative of division that they are currently spreading.

There’s no backslapping. Do you not think the time that two people who have never agreed on anything ever can’t see what you maintain is a Nazi salute might be indicative that it might just not be what you think? Perhaps I’ve seen too much footage and too many images in which it’s unmistakable to appreciate the subtlety of this.

Sorry that’s gobbledegook, it should say:

'must admit, I’m quite shocked/alarmed by the number of people who aren’t (or are pretending to not be) aware that nazi salutes, swastikas and general neo-nazi behaviour and appearance are synonymous with the far right.'

Who said that? Of course it is synonymous with neo Nazis, the point is it isn't clear on that clip no matter how much people want it to be. I can only see fat men chanting with their arms in the air, or pointing.

For the trillionth time I'm not defending far right thugs but any aggression and anti social behaviour has to be treated the same regardless of which side theyre on.

'Anyone who claims they were not saluting needs their eyes and or morals checked. I would say they need to educate themselves about how themselves about how the FR operate in the UK. But its clear they have inside knowledge'

See you're missing the point too. If it was clear, like the man urinating at the plaque it would have been all over Twitter. It isn't though.

Ah - just looked at the facebook page of the Australian link - why didn't I spot this;

"If you look closely some have both arms in the air..so it's just arms in the air..fake news to get a response."

Why is it so important to you that they didnt (although they did) do Nazi salutes? What vested interest do you have?

'Again what is the vested interest you have to insist they were not saluting? Why do you even care if you believe they are FR 'thugs'? Are you on their defence team or something?'

What a ridiculous thing to say. Accusations should be true, surely that is a basic requirement.

There was aggression this Sat and there was last Sat. Why do you think the culprits shouldn't all be treated equally. Why haven't the Cenotaph defacers been arrested?
