WTAF - Far right protests

999 replies

Poppi89 · 12/06/2020 11:18

I have just heard on the radio that far-right protesters will be out tomorrow in response to the BLM protesters. People are being urged not to be out in support of BLM tomorrow due to the aggressive nature of the far-right group and BLM protests are being cancelled because of them.

I am outraged by this. The BLM protesters are asking for people to not be killed due to the colour of their skin. They have rightly or wrongly made a decision to put themselves at risk of COVID-19 to help spread this message - a lot of people have called them idiots etc for doing this.

The far-right protests are now also protesting in large groups (but not in response to a murder) and are 'known' for being aggressive. How is this acceptable?

I would like to hear from anyone who is planning to join/agree with these far-right protests and their reasons why?

You are utterly deluded (or knowingly pushing a white supremacist agenda) and I'm glad to see that, in a thread with a wide range of opinions, your particularly disgusting post was deleted.

Babbas · 13/06/2020 23:02

Well in my book mctits the views of racists matter far far far less that those of anti fascists.

McTits · 13/06/2020 23:03

@LlamaHammock
Can you actually read? I clearly said that i disagreed with white supremacists! This is where your argument falls down. 🙄

onlinelinda · 13/06/2020 23:05

OP it isn't acceptable, and in our town they were the same people who were whining about covid, even though our protest was socially distanced, and whining about being excluded ("our lives matter"!). Racists and racists, everywhere.

McTits · 13/06/2020 23:06

@Babbas
And if you actually read my post you would see that I clearly agree with that! What I said was if people go around using violence then this is going to discredit their cause and encourage counter protests! This is not something that I agree with but it is something that has inevitably happened!

LlamaHammock · 13/06/2020 23:06

Yes, we all saw your "I'm not racist but..."

Cleanmean · 13/06/2020 23:08

Mctits for someone who disagrees with white supremacists you seem to share a lot of their views. Racism is pretty clear cut, you're either racist or not. If you are offended by others thinking you're a racist then you need to go away and check your white priviledge/ fragility.

longwayoff · 13/06/2020 23:08

McTits, perhaps you have a comprehension problem?Again, paying a bit more attention to what's been written before you comment, might prove helpful.

McTits · 13/06/2020 23:09

@llamahammock
Here we go... you can’t actually come up with a counter argument so you resort to abuse and branding someone as ‘racist’ 🙄

McTits · 13/06/2020 23:12

I don’t have to justify myself to anyone. As previously stated I believe in equality for everyone. If you’d like to explain how this makes me racist then I’m all ears 😂

Notejode · 13/06/2020 23:13

smile basic legal requirements is the minimum when I am donating my money. It will be help the organisation with credibility and help their to raise more funds.

myrtleWilson · 13/06/2020 23:14

Tell me more about how you go about to secure equality for everyone then @McTits - what do you with your white privilege to do raise up others who are systemically oppressed?

LlamaHammock · 13/06/2020 23:17

McTits said that no race is discriminated against more than the other (I.e. racism doesn't exist or, if it does, it affects everyone evenly).

They also said that anti racism protestors are no better or worse than neo nazis.

Do you really think they believe in white privilege?

LlamaHammock · 13/06/2020 23:17

McTits, why do you think your post was deleted?

EmeraldShamrock · 13/06/2020 23:22

I'm ashamed to be white with the ignorance of certain pp's towards BLM.
I know it was a minority in the UK but today was fucking awful in London racism and ignorance at it's finest shameful horrendous brainless behaviour from thugs. WTF.

McTits · 13/06/2020 23:27

No I don’t believe in white privilege. It’s not something I’ve ever witnessed. I’ve been subjected to racism myself many years ago, if white privilege existed then why did this happen? What I actually said is that anyone involved from either groups involved in violence is as each other.

Tillygetsit · 13/06/2020 23:28

My blood ram cold watching those thugs. They were only there for a fight and it didn't matter who with. Britain at it's worst.

Why don't you believe in white privilege @mctits - do you now see any part of your life, your community, your country that has white privilege? Really???????

@McTits saying that you don't believe there is an issue just because you haven't experienced it firsthand shows ignorance and inability to comprehend something, even if it is abstract to you.

Only you can choose to educate yourself. Talk to BAME people in RL. Google. follow Instagram accounts.

Then come back and tell us that you don't believe in white privilege.

McTits · 13/06/2020 23:34

As I said I treat everyone equally and would never discriminate against anyone in any way. I’ve spoken about this issue with friends, some who are BAME and they do not believe that they have ever been unfairly discriminated against due to the colour of their skin. I asked because I was genuinely interested to see if their experiences differed to mine seeing as we live in a multicultural area.

chickbaa · 13/06/2020 23:36

@McTits so because you spoke to a few people in your area, you are denying it across the globe?

WoW.

And I would have loved to have been a fly in the wall during those conversations.
