To ask you to help with a complaint about the sickening front page of tomorrow’s Sun

My first AIBU

Please don’t give the sun any clicks - I’ll attempt to post a photo of tomorrow’s horrific front page.

Flowers to anyone this tiggers. It’s truly awful.

“I slapped JK And I’m not sorry.Sun confronts her 1st husband”

Any advice on the best way to frame a complaint to IPSO? I think it would come under several categories, harassment, privacy, victims of sexual assault.

This is a new low.

Bloody hell. That's fucking appalling.

MiniMum97 · 12/06/2020 00:15

Oh my god that's awful.

ZombieFan · 12/06/2020 00:21

What is your complaint, dont you think it is good to expose these attitudes?

CoRhona · 12/06/2020 00:54

Do you mean protecting her? She said she's been abused and the paper went to find him, not sure how that's anti privacy?

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 12/06/2020 01:01

It is genuinely sickening - whatever side of the trans debate you find yourself on. The Scum can't get away with this.

Stompythedinosaur · 12/06/2020 01:04

This is a new low, even for The Sun.

Surely being pro-domestic violence is quite a hard position to sell?

FliesandPies · 12/06/2020 01:10

I posted on the other thread (when OP posts an image the front page it should make it clearer) that they are making a cack-handed attempt to support JKR

QuestionableMouse · 12/06/2020 01:12

I think the word confronts shows that they're not pro domestic abuse. 😕🙄

Andthenthenewone · 12/06/2020 01:20

That rag cannot even be used for wiping bums now! ShockAngry

Charlottejbt · 12/06/2020 01:26

It's not that bad if they got the guy to incriminate himself on the front page of a paper. Unpleasant reading for JK Rowling, but at least her version of events is supported by his (from what I can tell from the pic anyway). I wish all domestic abusers could be named and shamed publicly.

Gingerkittykat · 12/06/2020 01:26

It's front page of the Daily Mail too for people who want to report it.

FliesandPies · 12/06/2020 01:39

HeddaGarbled · 12/06/2020 01:43

They’re reporting it, not supporting it.

LlamaHammock · 12/06/2020 01:53

'Exclusive: Sick Taunt of Rowling's Violent Ex'

BatShite · 12/06/2020 01:55

Ugh thats awful. Whats even more awful is you just know this guy will be the hero of the MRA bastards on twitter who will think this is what she 'deserves' given they are threatening the same (and worse) :(

Nonotthatdr · 12/06/2020 01:56

It’s horrid. I can’t quite believe I’m defending these rags but they are supporting her. She’s been accused of making it all up - they have given her abuser enough rope to hang himself. Let these men say this shit in public so all those that say it dosent happen have to admit it does

BatShite · 12/06/2020 02:01

Well yeah, given the predictable response was 'shes making it up'..its 'good' for her in that way. I am just very worried that the abusive twat will be idolized by those who are currently wishing violence on her..which appears to be a LOT of males. And a few females. Misogynistic abusive twats.

BigBadVoodooHat · 12/06/2020 02:02

Surely being pro-domestic violence is quite a hard position to sell?

How do you interpret allowing her abusive ex to publicly incriminate himself, thereby validating her claims, as being ‘pro-domestic violence’?

It’s pretty obvious what they’re doing here.

And yes, I do loathe The Sun.

Flaxmeadow · 12/06/2020 02:02

This is a new low, even for The Sun.

I'm no fan of the Sun, I avoid it is much as possible, but isnt it that they are exposing this abuser for what he is? They arent condoning it. They are reporting it. Its not their fault he's a woman beater

MrMeSeeks · 12/06/2020 02:13

But they’re they’re not? They’re clearly supporting her? Confused

Flaxmeadow · 12/06/2020 02:19

I know mumsnet is very middle class and far removed from the life of the Sun reading white van Wetherspoon male masses, but I think it's a bit of a stretch to accuse them of "idolising" a wife beater. Please give men a bit of credit, most of them will be disgusted by it

BatShite · 12/06/2020 02:29

I don't mean by the sun readers! Or 'men'

I mean by the thousands of men who are currently abusing her on twitter and actually wishing rape and death on her!

FliesandPies · 12/06/2020 02:41

Maybe some bastards BatShite but in the real world I think it will make people a lot more sympathetic to her, and a lot less sympathetic to those such as Radcliffe/Redmayne/Watson etc who chose to line up against her.

Flaxmeadow · 12/06/2020 02:41

Yes sorry Batshite. I've just seen your other comment. Yeah the Tweet replies she got are horrific.
