I need to cut my lawn. Do you think I'll need to do it again before the winter?

OP posts:
nlsrhtr · 24/09/2007 17:19

I use a fat black fountain pen, that I manually dip in ink (it was too frustrating to get the ink to actually go through the whole nib-I COULD clean it, I suppose). Anticipating the drip of ink to blot the paper is as exciting as things get for me. Otherwise the nib skating over the paper is fun fun fun.

What a world, I am soooo glad you folks are here.

lucyellensmum · 24/09/2007 17:30

i once seriously started a thread to enquire whether i should pay a stupid amount of money for a toaster, i didnt. It was then i realised my life was spiraling out of control and went to the doctor!

NOw, i have to go to get bin bags, i cant decide on tesco or sommerfield, both equidistance from my house, both could invovle a visit to the beach on teh way back, its amazing i can get through the day with such decisions weighing over me

lucyellensmum · 24/09/2007 17:33

mb, re your OP, i hope it was taken seriously - i have to cut mine, i am hoping not to have to do it again, it is too much excitement, i hoped that last time, but it still grew naybe this time.

Oh and my DP keeps stealing my crocs as his slippers are manky

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 17:34

I just saw this thread in the display "i once started a thread to see if i should spend a stupid amount of money on a toa.."
I have to say I thought it was going to say toad. I am disappointing, you boring gits

lucyellensmum · 24/09/2007 17:39

why is a toaster more boring than a toad? I mean, a toaster is shiney and had buttons to press and there are a whole range of them to chose from, from a fiver to £200!! Some have variable browning, variable width, come in different colours and have a bagel function! You can defrost bread, you can cancel the toast, you can simply warm buns. Some even make little mickey mouse patterns on the toast.

What do toads do thats so exciting? They don't even hop, im not even sure they say ribbit, they just sit there being warty!

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 17:40

but buying an expensive toad, that would have been interesting

slowreader · 24/09/2007 17:41

Is it too late to hang it up, Elenya?

I use a fountain pen too and I sometimes do Greek gs because I get bored with normal ones.

ChantillyLace · 24/09/2007 17:41

A bagel function!?!?! now you're talking!! What could be more exciting??

slowreader · 24/09/2007 17:42

Toads turn into handsome princes when snogged (allegedly)

lucyellensmum · 24/09/2007 17:42

assuming of course you can get them, i'll google expensive toads r us, because i dont recall seeing them last time i went to John Lewis

ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 17:46

I think so, slowreader, and it is a bit grey here now (outside - not the washing!).

Did I mention my red pencil? It has my name on it.

Why has everyone else forgotten the snail?

sugarmatches · 24/09/2007 17:48

Ooooh John Lewis does have lovely toasters though.

slowreader · 24/09/2007 17:49

Oh yes the snail. Thank you for reminding me.

It is lovely for you to have the red pencil with your name on.

I have a pen with my friend's name on which I accidentally stole from her. I keep it in the car because I might potentially give it back. It writes very well.

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 17:49

now this is why I want a toad, couldnt find any prices though
toadally psychedelic

slowreader · 24/09/2007 17:50

Lorayn is that really what you call boring?

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 17:52

no, I'm sorry, i lost the point of this thread somewhere.
I shall talk about my recycling bins from now on

ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 17:52

Oh dear, don't you find it confusing to have a pen with someone else's name on it? I find it reassuring to be able to look at my pencil and see my own name. I have had my pencil for many years.

I am somewhat confused by the rapid changing from snails to toads.

sugarmatches · 24/09/2007 17:56

How did we get off the topic of toaster???

this one is fab!! I have total kitchen envy for anyone who owns one.

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 17:57

I dont have a toaster, and the grill in my cooker sometimes toasts the bread unevenly, it is annoying.

ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 17:59

Goodness - snails, toads, toasters, pencils - I think it's all getting a bit exciting now!

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 18:01

Dont forget recycling bins, I can never decide which way I should have them facing, towards the gate or away from the gate

sugarmatches · 24/09/2007 18:03

Only face them out if they have a designer label.

ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 18:03

Away from the gate surely?

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 18:06

why away from the gate??
is this some middle class rule I havent picked up on yet?

slowreader · 24/09/2007 18:09

Dh agreed to cook supper if I cleaned the bathrooms.
He announced (after the agreement had been ratified) that he was cooking Leftovers.
In response to this idleness I have done a very poor job on the shower.
