I need to cut my lawn. Do you think I'll need to do it again before the winter?

I have a potato peeler that I mostly use for cutting parmasan cheese

I bought a new ironing board cover and it didn't fit, so I cut a bit off it to make it fit and it still doesn't fit and now I can't return it to the shop and will have to go to Argos instead.

slowreader · 24/09/2007 16:10

ironing board covers never do seem to fit. It is the same I find with vacuum cleaner bags.

I tend to throw potato peelers away with the peelings. I have lost several that way.

Black has blown over and is quite nice now. Hockey was not cancelled as I feared.

I have found a way to abolish Winter without going on expensive Southern hemisphere holidays (not that I wouldn't like to).

One of my neighbours washes his cars every weekend religiously and spends all morning til lunchtime out there EVERY WEEK when, quite frankly, he should be inside giving his missus a good seeing to.

He also washes the lampost outside his house and the street sign.

I don't even wash myself at the weekend..........

EricL · 24/09/2007 16:12

I don't even bother trying to open 'easy peel' wrapping anymore.

I just stab it with a humungous knife and mutter under my breath.

JeremyVile · 24/09/2007 16:12

I have a bit of fluff on my sleeve.

I will blow it and report back how many blows til it comes off.

[sigh]

ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 16:13

I'm back now and it is still not raining so I have put on the washing. Do you think it will rain before it's finished?

stleger, I think your ironing board cover story is a bit interesting so maybe that makes it inappropriate for this thread, don't you think? Not wanting to do anything as exciting as being controversial, of course.

The snail is gone but not forgotten.

JeremyVile · 24/09/2007 16:15

Fluff still there.

Have a headache and the blowing made it worse.

I will let you all know when it falls off of its own accord.

sugarmatches · 24/09/2007 16:16

Check this baby out!!

ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 16:17

Fluff as a substitute for the snail....

Blandmum · 24/09/2007 16:17

I am printing out GCSE questions for my students.

My pencil is still pink

OP posts:
ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 16:18

I have a red pencil.

I have always dreamt of having a salad spinner, but it wouldn't match my Le Creuset properly.

sugarmatches · 24/09/2007 16:20

I bought a pen today that has its own case. Its own case!! Madness!

Blandmum · 24/09/2007 16:21

I have a red pen, but it does not work. for some reason it is still in my pen holder. I should throw it out I suppose

I love throwing out pens.

My friend had one of those electric potato peelers for a wedding present. She threw it away because the job of cleaning it was far longer and messier than that of peeling the potatoes by hand. Oxfam would not take it.

Does the pencil write pink or is it merely externally pink with a dark middle?

But i am easily amused.

slowreader · 24/09/2007 16:33

My dd is sitting around in her soaking wet hockey stuff. Which I have to wash with a mild detergent and send back to school asap (said school).

I think you dd must be one of those jumping operators.

sugarmatches · 24/09/2007 16:35

Tarquin, my puppy, loves Purina.
I have tried to feed him less expensive brands, but he refuses them.

Sunshinemummy · 24/09/2007 16:44

I'm being W(h)IPped....which means an IT man is sat at my machine going through all my applications to make sure they get transferred to our new corporate desktop. This is likely to be the most exciting thing that will happen to me this week.

stleger · 24/09/2007 16:44

I find recently that pens seem to run out very quickly and unexpectedly, even bic ones.

lucyellensmum · 24/09/2007 16:55

there is nothing i like more than getting my fingers round the shaft of a lovely new pen and writing my name, over and over again

ElenyaTuesday · 24/09/2007 17:18

My washing is finished now.
