admittedly, ive only been a member for a few months, but i have come to this conclusion. take today for instance. the main topic of conversation on this section is; parents of 5 year olds worried about which senior school to go to? on that thread is the biggest bore & snob you will ever have the misfortune to meet. this popular thread is closely followed by mums worried about whats in their kids packed lunch? mums get a life! im off for a fag.

oh sorry only read OP

3andnomore · 23/09/2007 16:50

a troll is a person that posts pretending to be someone they are not, usually to upset people, because they are bored or because they are seeking attention....the latter being, imo, the worst kind, as they often are doing it longterm and then taking attention away form people that truely need help and support, etc...

talulasmum · 23/09/2007 16:53

i have apologised about the boring & middle class thing. i have friends all across the class system. i dont care where you were born, live, what school you went to etc etc.. but its interesting that you have been making jokes all day about "the family silver," "public schools," etc, but when i joke about working class mums shopping at iceland i get told im "stereotyping"

I repeat, if you don't like the threads that are running, why not start your own?

All of life seems to be on MN at various times. there are things that interest me, and things that don't. That must be true for everyone on MN.

Start your own threads.

Lizzzombie · 23/09/2007 17:00

Iceland is fab. Don't care what class you are. They have the best choice of ice cream.

RustyBear · 23/09/2007 17:03

"but when i joke about working class mums shopping at iceland i get told im "stereotyping" "

Ummm - that was a joke too actually......

NorthernRockCod · 23/09/2007 17:03

I think TM is someone who has decided to spice up this lovely Sunday afternoon. After all you have to register and wait 24 hours before you can post.

I am sitting here with a big fuck off glass of Jacobs Creep and 20 fags after hosting DS's birthday party. Its bloody great. They are off watching the tv now (DS & DH and DD is in bed sleeping)

I like being called middle class, have always aspired to be middle class

UCM · 23/09/2007 17:23

Do working class people shop at Iceland, I thought that Iceland was for people on welfare.

law3 · 23/09/2007 17:23

talulasmum · 23/09/2007 17:30

if you read my op you would know i've been a member for 2 months. i just dont get why you all think im a "wind up" if i wanted to wind people up i could do alot better than this!

OP posts:
JeremyVile · 23/09/2007 17:32

Stop contradicting yourself.

A good wind-up needs a bit more thought than this - you said you post a bit but under what name?

Not this one.

Fair play to you! Well done! I agree with you alot of them here are are middle class. They have nothing else to worry about other than secondary school at age 5!
There are alot who are on the level though, dont tar them all with the same brush. I for one am hated, here and am therefore not boring. Because i often have quite a difference of opinion on things here because i just dont get it or agree.
I think youve been a little harsh at times, but you DO have a point!

Some here may well be middle class and a little boring but will be there to support you (whatever your class) if and when you need some support. Dont forget that important point. Just because we have a difference of class and opinion doesnt mean we cant help eachother through harder times.

What i do find incredibly unkind and unsupportive, are they way they gang up on you. Call you names. Basically slag you off. Questions every word, turns it out of context, critisise spelling and or grammer etc etc. Those are few admittedly and youll find, in time, which names you can expect thise kind of comments from. In turn you tend to learn to ignore those posters.

There are some here who ive totally and utterly disagreed with, and have ended up having alot of respect for.
Just some points to bear in mind. But on the whole i think your right. Most Mnetters are soo without a life (no stress of any financial concern) that all they have to worry about are things that you and i would not consider for either a long time or ever.

Fair play to you again for creating a thread that opposes the majority, that is contraversial and that shouts out loud.
You surely were of course, expecting the reaction you have recieved??
