Her statue has been vandalised with graffiti. The BLM logo and slave trader spray painted all over it. Why?

Black on black violence is a result of racism. - Tell me more.

Well for starters you have centuries of the destruction of black family structures. You can't just pick that up. The absent black father is a real thing, a product of no paternal role models which keeps on replicating.

( NOT saying there are not excellent black dads out there.)

Then you have poverty of ambition, a lack of good role models and too many bad ones. I previously mentioned Damilola Taylor, a boy who loved to read who was tormented and eventually murdered by bad boys because his choices were such a threat to their sense of identity. To them, he was a 'coconut' and a traitor to blackness.

Finally, post code gangs. Young black lads terrified to cross a street, trapped in their own neighbourhood because the idea they grow up with is that this land is not theirs and they have no business going further than the end of their street.

Racism does not just push down from outside. It drags the victim down from the inside.

Well, I just think be careful of ripping down history - argue against it - by all means - but don't eradicate it. Some statues could be replaced but really - If those statues are not there - to some extent the debate is made smaller. ( I have not made that point terribly well , but I hope some will get my point )

Tell me more. I genuinely don’t understand this.

Look up Akala on youtube. He explains it really well, and as a black man he actually knows what he is talking about. HTH.

I don't get why the Gov haven't come up with any suggestions of solutions to help black communities. Everyone says that you need bobbies on the beat to get to know the residents and who the troublesomes are and who aren't. And surely some sports facilities for young lads would make a difference.
It would hardly break the bank. But no let's just leave it as it is with stabbings and drug dealing and just wring our hands instead. Ridiculous.

Blame ten years of austerity. Youth services in all communities have been decimated.

"The Mayor of London claims to have allocated a lot of funding to youth projects;"

"Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has announced another £2.4m to support activities for young people through his £45m Young Londoners Fund."

"The funding will support some 35 projects over the next three years. Together, these will enable more than 8,000 young Londoners to take part in meaningful, positive activities."

"The aim of the fund is to help children and young people aged 10 to 21, particularly those at risk of getting caught up in crime. It supports a range of education, sports, cultural and other activities to help young Londoners reach their potential."

"These projects mean the Young Londoners Fund has invested £23.3m so far, supporting more than 80,000 young Londoners."

Possibly, but if young black boys are being enticed into gangs with the promise of an iPhone, cash and trainers, new sports facilities might not cut it.

Sorry - that shouldn't be a quotation.

No Jigglypuff, BRITAIN went around the world, very much including wales. Instead of announcing how persecuted you are as a welsh person on every bloody thread, why dont you look into the thousands and thousands of welsh people who owned slaves, ran the empire, were in the monarcy and the army?
@user1471565182 were they really Welsh or were they English people who'd been granted Welsh titles? The Pennants for example (owned plantations in Jamaica) were granted the title of Lord Penrhyn but they were merchants from Liverpool and couldn't speak a word of Welsh (their employees likewise did not speak English).

Unlike Scotland which maintained its own legal system, peerage etc., Wales was merely conquered, the Welsh nobility being swept aside in favour of new rulers loyal to the English King.

The Welsh Not wasn't that long ago.
