To ask your actual waist measurement rather than what you think it is

I've just measured my waist and it's 34 inches. My jeans btw are size 32 so they are lying to me. And the NHS say I should have a waist measuring under 31.5" What is yours ?

I’m a 25 inch waist.

Um, not 30 years ago. It reached 30 inches ..... years ago. Not sure how many exactly!

My waist is 26 inches. My clothes are either a 10 (28 inches) or 12 (30 inches)

Mine is 32/ 33" size 14.

32” I wear a 12-14. Weight 11st 3lb height 5’8” and am 23(?) BMI.

I am activity trying to loose weight. I turn 39 this week and I really want to get myself to a size I’m happy with before I’m 40 as I know it gets harder the older you get.

I did the 16:8 for 3 weeks and lost 1lb at most, so today I’ve started MyFitnessPal again.

23, I am only 5 ft 1 and pretty tiny though! I wear a 6 normally :)

@FlamedToACrisp well done for giving up the fags. I used to kid myself that smoking meant I wasn't eating too much, I was a fat smoker, I was lying to myself, I did both. Now at least I only do one of those things and I am working on that

Stupid question but is waist the actual thinnest bit?

31 inches, was recently 33 but been doing something about my lockdown extra weight (and the rest). Hoping to drop a few more inches. I’m usually a 12-14 and pretty apple shaped.

@Ffsseriously I remember mine because I used to be fascinated with the 90's supermodels and compared my stats to theirs all the time. One of those useless things that sticks in my mind along with grandmas old phone number from 1987

I was 39, 29, 40 pre-pregnancy - only 13 weeks so not hugely bigger, but still in proportion for now.

31 inches, I wear a size 14.

I cant work out where my waist is.

But anyway it varies significantly - about 33 in the morning and 38 in the evening. And just before my period it might hit 39 in the evening, but just after It could be 32 in the morning. I wear a size 14. I look pregnant in the evenings and hate it.

30". I'm a size 12. My jeans are all a 29" waist. I have very narrow hips but an H-cup bust. I'm within the OK BMI apparently, but I'm feeling a bit lockdown-chubby at the mo.

Prepregnancy my jean size was W28 L32 but now it’s... god knows like W500 🤣

I knew Gap jeans measured in inches rather than dress size, so measured my waist before I left the house. It was 34" back then, so picked a 34 off the shelf. They literally fell off me. I then tried on a 30 which fit perfectly. I measured the waistband when I got home - it was 34"!!! A blatant example of vanity sizing 😀.

I've read that your waist should be half your height - I'm 5'6, (66"). Therefore my waist should be 33" or less to be considered healthy. I think I've got more chance of climbing Everest than losing 3" from my middle.

24 inches - but I need to know it as I wear a lot of vintage clothing and that is what they go by with online shopping and sizing.

Gap Is known for terrible vanity sizing. I'm wearing size 6 trousers at the moment when I won't get in all of.my size 8 clothes :/

Waist 29 Hips 38 size anywhere from 6 to 12 depending on the shop. 5’4” 9st 8 if someone asks I say I’m a 10 but my Hollister jeans say 25 which is hilarious

I’d be interested in hips measurements! Mine are my biggest part and even with a waist of 27.5 now I’ve measured I’m still a 12/14 in trousers cos of these bloody hips!

Mine are 37 round my actual hip bones but around the widest part at top of thighs 39.5 - over ten inches between my waist and hips and jeans are a nightmare!
