Me.....Because my brain won't switch off and has started to overthink every single thing I have ever done and said since the day I was born Sad

Because I have had a really good chat with people in Canada and the US and we have had a good laugh, I am going to suffer tomorrow though

steff13 · 08/06/2020 02:16

It's only 9:15 here (Ohio). We have a mallard in our yard for some reason and we're trying to figure out if we need to do anything about it. We have her some water, I think we're just going to let her do her thing.

PissedOffAndAwake · 08/06/2020 02:17

I was foolish enough to look at a message from people in charge of the organisation I work for which reveals them to be even more staggeringly stupid and incompetent than I previously thought. It's now going to be churning around in my head all night, so I decided there's no point even trying to get to sleep yet.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 08/06/2020 02:18

Aching restless legs

MazDazzle · 08/06/2020 02:18

My sleep pattern is all to pot. My DH is away for 7 weeks, so I’m on my own with the kids. I’m staying up later and later every night.

I watch ASMR videos on YouTube to help me fall asleep, but I don’t come home to bed til the early hours of the morning!

Stayed up late tonight making flat pack furniture for my daughter’s bedroom. At least I did something useful!

EvilHerbivore · 08/06/2020 02:22

Chest infection, on antibiotics but still not shifting
Coughing which in turn gives me a headache and wheezing every time I lie down

Fcukthisshit · 08/06/2020 02:23

Because I could hear something running around on our flat roof above the bedroom at 11pm and now my brain is in overdrive wondering what it could have been Confused

AMileInMyShoes · 08/06/2020 02:27

@Fcukthisshit

Squirrels more than likely.

They make a hell of a noise

SenecaFallsRedux · 08/06/2020 02:29

I'm on the east coast of the U.S. It's not quite 9:30 and I am a night owl anyway.

AMileInMyShoes · 08/06/2020 02:29

@steff13

What would you need to do?

AMileInMyShoes · 08/06/2020 02:30

@steff13

They come and go here, just leave them to it....

What do you do?
Whats wrong with it being in your garden?

steff13 · 08/06/2020 02:31

I don't know. I don't know anything about ducks. 🤷 There's no water around here.

YorkshirePud1 · 08/06/2020 02:32

My 2 week old baby just won't sleep. 😫 She's been crying on and off since 11pm and I've done every possible thing imaginable for her. My husband is back to work tomorrow after paternity leave so I thought I'd be nice and give him a night off in the spare room so he could get a good nights sleep. What was I thinking???

CowsGoBaaaaa · 08/06/2020 02:37

Because I’m in the other side of the world 🤷‍♀️

ragged · 08/06/2020 02:40

bored bored bored, of trying to sleep but not succeeding. I probably can now. but afraid of more bored bored bored

I am supposed to walk about 8 miles tomorrow. Hopefully I will be more tired so sleep better for that.

Grandadwasthatyou · 08/06/2020 02:42

2 things mainly, or should I say 3 and count being on Mumsnet as one of them!
Really bad restless legs and also feeling sad and guilty. Split up with DP at beginning of lockdown. My instigation, he is devastated and crying all the time on the phone and I feel terrible.

ragged · 08/06/2020 02:46

don't let him guilt him into doing what he wants

Cat0115 · 08/06/2020 02:46

Husband coughing earlier... He is n ow snoring away while I lie, with my sore throat, awake.

GlitteryUnicornSparkles · 08/06/2020 02:49

Shoulder and arm pain from a pre lockdown car accident is keeping me awake, painkillers aren’t helping much and physio is currently on hold.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/06/2020 02:49

Because I've just been woken by the sound of dd2 arguing with her dad.
She left the house friday night after disliking something he said about the riots and people not distancing and has decided he's racist. Shes 14. She stormed out the house and we couldnt find her and had to get the police involved before they finally found her 5 miles away at 2am.

She's pointedly ignored him for 2 days. Cannot see that he isn't wrong and I'd offended at his efforts to try and speak to her even about normal things.

I don't know what to do to make any of it better. Apart from phoning the gp tomorrow because the police said shed been thinking about self harm and suicide.

So I'm having a self indulgent cry because i don't know how to make this better.

Happynow001 · 08/06/2020 02:49

@LemsipLemsipLemsip
Try sloooshing/gargling warm salty water in the area that hurts. I've often found that sorts out tooth/gum/sore throat problems, at least until you can get properly seen to.

I'm awake because I fell very suddenly asleep early evening and my body clock thinks it's time to get going!! Sadly that's also meant eating - just polished off a slice of toasted rye-bread with cheese and a hot milk so, hopefully, with those carbs and tryptophan (from the dairy products) in me I'll be off again soon.

ScrumptiousBears · 08/06/2020 02:52

I went to sleep at 8pm as I have to start work at 5am. My oldest DD had has 2 nose bleeds tonight so this is the second time I've been woken and now can't get back to sleep. 5am is drawing ever nearer.

Ask your GP if an asthma preventer would help? I had similar symptoms a few years ago after flu/chest infection which wouldn't go away even after two bouts of antibiotics and that helped so much. I was given Clenil Modulite 100mcg if that helps. Hope you get better soon. 🌻

willowwispa · 08/06/2020 03:00

Because I am stressed, worried and feel sick.
