What is your biggest lifestyle indulgence?

Mulling this over as I look through job listings. I think for me it is enjoying fitness classes at different expensive studios, well pre covid it was. Not sure when we will be able to do that again! But I really enjoy it so much and it is definitely not an essential, I'm fortunate to be able to do so. We do live in an eye-wateringly expensive area so I guess that is partly a luxury, although we do need to live in this city for my partner's work.

What would you say is the most luxury aspect of your lifestyle?

@LHReturns

And four mini Shih Tzus!
Omg..can you get mini ones? Love them. The face on that one in the front with the blue jacket on it. I want it! Now!
bonbonours · 17/03/2021 18:18

Nothing really, only the money I spend on my choirs which is my "me time." Occasionally buy some booze or posh chocs for myself.

Otherwise, the biggest luxury spend is normally on family activities or days out.

Cafetiere coffee at home and work - never instant.
Once a year weekend at Ragdale Hall.
Coffee out each time I go out with a friend. Lunch too if I get the chance once a week.
Dishwasher.

My other indulgence is my health
I spend £100 a month on treatments
Then on top of that comes herbs, supplements, vits and mins.

I also like to add to my dress collection..but seen nothing I liked at the moment.
I’m not bothered about towels but I do fancy having duvets and pillow cases ironed.

Single estate Darjeeling. The Thompson and Morgan seed catalogue.

mdh2020 · 17/03/2021 18:32

Belonging to various art galleries, museums. NT and EH. Going to the theatre a lot (if only).

Notusuallydown · 17/03/2021 18:36

Buying plants! Flowers to fill out the new garden. Trouble is we're going to have to have vertical green walls... There are rather a lot...

CauliflowerBalti · 17/03/2021 18:42

Fresh flowers everywhere. Not expensive ones. Supermarket roses, freesias, daffs, carnations... But in every room. And regular hotel stays with my husband at a couple of expensive places less than 10 minutes down the road, just to be looked after and escape.

Carpedimum · 17/03/2021 18:45

Really good quality food and drinks. We also grow some of our own, which is an indulgence in both time and cost! I buy fresh flowers & expensive brand makeup, creams & hair products. I’m trying to rein in buying far too many new clothes, I do send plenty to charity though. I indulge DP & DS with ‘little’ gifts, it makes me feel good.

I’m not very extravagant and get pleasure from the simple/free things. Perhaps I need to let rip moreConfused

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 17/03/2021 18:56

The dogs. The car we own is dictated by the dogs.

DH's are good wine and travel, and I get to benefit. Grin

Benjispruce2 · 17/03/2021 18:56

On second thoughts I do like decorating our home but I love a bargain.
Love good food and cooking but I can do that with produce from Aldi.

MiriamMargo · 17/03/2021 18:57

flying long haul first class

SionnachRua · 17/03/2021 18:58

Pole dancing classes. And clothes for pole dancing classes, which are ludicrously expensive for wee scraps of cloth.

Once this pandemic is over I'll be booking into a spa for a massage asap. I always get one at the end of a school term as a "well done for surviving" treat. Plus you (I) build up a hell of a lot of back tension as a teacher!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 17/03/2021 19:01

Dog. Getting dog groomed. Buying dog fancy food (hypoallergenic).
Birch box when on offer.
Craft shit.
Pens. Ink. This week is payday and I hear the siren song of Cult Pens.

caspersmagicaljourney · 17/03/2021 19:05

Eating out and visits to the hairdresser. So you can imagine how frustrated I feel right now.😣
However I am making do with a decent takeaway here and there, delivered of course.😉
I haven't yet resorted to cutting my own hair, so I'll continue to look like Wurzle Gummidge with an ombre for now.😁

SpeakingFranglais · 17/03/2021 19:07

Good food. Being able to buy what I want, quality food especially meat, fish, shellfish and baked goods.

Bebethany · 17/03/2021 19:11

I was based at the royal Brompton once upon a time, I used to think how must it feel to actually live in Chelsea?

But I live in once of the poorest London boroughs bit wearing Chanel perfume every day. It allows me to escape!!
