I’d change the kitchen cupboards and potentially install different doors out to garden... I really like it, DH thinks garden too small (family of 4).

Personally love the house itself. Kitchen is too red but that's a small issue.

TorkTorkBam · 07/06/2020 18:56

Northwest of London is nice. Places like Chesham are on the tube network too.

Boredbumhead · 07/06/2020 19:01

It's fab. Just take up the paving and lay turf. No sweat! I love the layout and kitchen.

Mrswhite777 · 07/06/2020 19:03

The garden looks like it has lots of large bushes/overgrown tree, which would increase light once cut down etc also leaving more space. I would personally keep the patio and turn it stones into grass, that way there is room for bbqs etc and grass

Runnerduck34 · 07/06/2020 19:04

House is fine, like you not sure on kitchen cupboards. However garden does look a bit small and worse still theres nothing green in it! so it wouldnt suit me and I have sympathy with you husband, the garden would put me off to.

SomeBunny · 07/06/2020 19:04

You’ll get less house for your money in Horsham or Haywards Heath, but both are much nicer areas to live in than Crawley in my experience, with better schools. Pound Hill is one of the nicer neighbourhoods in Crawley though.

I think if you do settle on buying in Crawley I’d hold on a little bit longer to assess the impact of the situation with Gatwick as other posters have suggested. I have a friend in Maidenbower who is rushing to get her house valued because she’s very concerned about being stuck in negative equity.

Lottielouc · 07/06/2020 19:13

I like it but it’s subjective. Only you know if it’s right for you.
We bought our current home because of the private / size of garden not the actual property. But that’s what was important to us.

The80sweregreat · 07/06/2020 19:18

It's beautiful but the red kitchen isn't my taste.
Nice garden and very spacious.

maureen17 · 07/06/2020 19:20

buy it! you can always lay some grass ..... I love the red kitchen ... price is bang on for Crawley. BUT you both have to love it to live in it !

Happydaysforever123 · 07/06/2020 19:23

I think it's lovely, but I'd budget getting someone in to take up that concrete and lay a lawn, the garden would look a lot nicer. Alfa is close changing those red doors.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 07/06/2020 19:24

I'm sure this house was on Location Location Location this week, they showed it to the family from Malaysia. I might be wrong though. It was down south and looked a lot like that.

BabbleBee · 07/06/2020 19:33

I completely agree that Crawley is a greener Croydon.

Also agree with holding off if you’re set on Crawley to see what happens locally with jobs etc.

Much nicer areas to live, you may not get a house with that level of extension but I bet all the money has gone on the visible areas and upstairs isn’t the same level of ‘done up’.

gumball37 · 07/06/2020 19:38

I actually love the kitchen 😁. The garden looks more like just a patio though.

janj2301 · 07/06/2020 19:51

Aren't humans odd, I love the kitchen cabinets.. Size of the garden looks fine, could do with less slab and some grass but that would be a couple of weekends work

Violinist64 · 07/06/2020 20:11

I like the kitchen very much but am not keen on open-plan personally. However, it looks a lovely house and the garden is absolutely fine, allowing for you changing it to the way you want it to be.

Dizzybet74 · 07/06/2020 20:14

I think the garden would look bigger of cleared a bit and you'd want to get rid of some of the paving and lay to lawn. I like it, def a good size for a family of 4

totalinsomniac · 07/06/2020 20:15

@Newbie1999 yes Hayward's Heath has good schools. Much better than Crawley x

FelicisNox · 07/06/2020 20:17

40 mins by train? Have you looked at Bedfordshire?

Notenoughchocolateomg · 07/06/2020 20:35

It's fantastic. Agree, awful red doira need to go, but other than that it's very nice and cosy looking

MadamShazam · 07/06/2020 20:45

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that house that a little Frenchic on the kitchen cupboards and some gardening wouldn't sort out.

loopylindazdaughter · 07/06/2020 20:46

Really really like it. Know nothing about the area but the house is stunning

MummyMayo1988 · 07/06/2020 20:48

Beautiful house OP! 😍
I would definitely buy!
We're a family of 5, our garden is half the size of that and we cope!
Dont change the kitchen tho! Love it!

Ducklingfarm · 07/06/2020 20:48

It's a good size house for a family of 4, kitchen is ghastly though! Garden could be easily made more child friendly, grass most of it and keep a patio area, perhaps a flower border or built up for flowers/veg but it's a decent enough size garden I think, I'm also up north so no idea if it's good for the price though.

RoseMartha · 07/06/2020 20:52

The garden is fairly small compared to the house size. I think you need to weigh up what you are looking for ie more house or more garden.

Lovely house except the red kitchen is not my taste.
The tree on front garden is really striking in a good way.

juneo63 · 07/06/2020 21:02

I think it's gorgeous ☺️ I love the kitchen, I have the same but in aubergine, it's a decent sized garden and plenty of room in the house, it seems a good price too, you generally get a feel for a place, your gut will tell you if it's right 😁
But I would have it, and be proud of it 😊x
