Tappering got to ask now, which size normal bin liners do you use? I’ve tried using the closest size and they split (liner code K if that’s the size for your bin).

OP I think simple human bin liners are overpriced Grin

Nikhedonia · 04/06/2020 19:22

I've got two Simple Human bins and just buy normal bin liners for them. I refuse to pay the SH prices!

Blush I've just checked my amazon account and they are simple human bins the liners are actually £15 for 60 Shock I should actually switch to regular bin liners, this is close to literally throwing money in the bin! Grin

Adult clothing when compared to children's clothing in the same shop. It can't be just the VAT as they are often double the price for a similar item. Once you get to a children's size 13 or 14 they are the same size or bigger than mine. I do buy some children's clothes, if they don't look too young because of the price difference. Same for shoes, I can buy a boys' size 6 1/2 for much cheaper than a womens' shoe the same size, it's not just a 20% mark up.

ActuallyItsEugene · 04/06/2020 19:26

Plug in refills.

They're all on offer at the moment in my local supermarkets (down to between £2.50 - £3) so I've stocked up.
Especially on the Lenor UnStoppable scents.

Usually between £5-£6 each which doesn't sound a lot but I have 7 at home Blush

Tappering · 04/06/2020 19:29

Bubble I have these ones and I use 50L swing bin liners like this from Tesco or Sainsburys

plominoagain · 04/06/2020 19:32

Niche , I know , but :

Horse shoes ! £75 quid every six weeks and that’s with a discount because he’s my next door neighbour and I help him out a lot ! ( I did find out that the shoes he makes for my boy are well over 100 quid elsewhere )

I haven’t had a new pair of shoes for three years !

BetteDavisWeLuvU · 04/06/2020 19:33

Garden furniture. A really, really nice set costs more than a decent 3 seater sofa. Even the standard that is eye watering.

Kitchen bins

Nuts and but butters

ActuallyItsEugene · 04/06/2020 19:35

@OopsUpsideYourBed

Heaps of conditioner mixed with tea tree oil for combing.

Nenuco water for prevention.

I spray DDs thick, curly, long (down to her knees) hair with Nenuco every morning and she's not had them - even when I received the dreaded letter from nursery.

Smells beautiful too.

ActuallyItsEugene · 04/06/2020 19:40

@cansu Is that the brown T/Gel? My dad has to use that for scalp psoriasis and I've found the big bottles (250ml) for £4.99 in Savers and Home Bargains.
The big bottle was also £6 in Asda when I last checked.

Also £6 on Amazon at the moment - £5.70 if you use their subscribe and save (my dad does now.)

ALongHardWinter · 04/06/2020 19:43

OP what is an egg chair?! Excuse my ignorance! Grin
Regarding what I find inexplicably expensive,I'd go for disposable razors (the more 'upmarket ones I mean,not the '5 for a quid' Bic ones), and scrunchie hair bands. A quid for a tiny bit of material and elastic?!

ALongHardWinter · 04/06/2020 19:44

Another one. T-Gel shampoo. It's the only shampoo that stops my scalp itching,but at six quid for a tiny bottle,I can't justify the expense.

ActuallyItsEugene · 04/06/2020 19:47

@ALongHardWinter Try Home Bargains/Savers - I've found it for £4.99 in there.

Also £6 for the larger 250ml bottle in Asda and on Amazon at the moment.

Everything I am drawn to it would appear

Mrhodgeymaheg · 04/06/2020 20:05

Days out to tourist attractions

Food at festivals

Cosmetics

Printer ink

Beach huts - it's a shed!!!

Logoed school uniform items

Health food/supplements

And the worst one, the most extortionate of all......HOUSES/FLATS!

UnaCorda · 04/06/2020 20:24

@Nsky

Msybe, you csn buy cheaper pink tho
@Nsky, was your username meant to be Naky? Grin
peaceanddove · 04/06/2020 20:34

Bras. I can only seem to wear Freya bras and they cost upwards of £35! But the real shocker is how the matching knickers are usually nearly £20!

Overduesleep · 04/06/2020 20:40

Sudocrem
Socks (including children's which cost the same as adults?!)

YYYY to razors

Coastercat · 04/06/2020 20:41

Boilers. Kettles cost about £20, boilers cost 100 x this bit does roughly the same job.

MintyMabel · 04/06/2020 20:50

Refill bottles for the flash powermop. £4 for what is essentially 1/4 bottle of normal flash.

@Laserbird16

Printer ink is, per ml, the most expensive liquid on earth. It’s ridiculous.

Molocosh · 04/06/2020 20:54

Egg chairs...look lovely and fun but why are they hundreds of pounds ??
I would quite happily pay hundreds of pounds for an Egg Chair - unfortunately they cost at least £5000!

Likefootball · 04/06/2020 21:00

My grandfather used to say that a good thing is never expensive and I had to agree.
If you get pleasure from using it, it is money well spent.
On another note, the thing that I can't believe is so expensive is the milk formula for babies.

Nsky · 04/06/2020 21:00

No

Stripeytopgirl · 04/06/2020 21:02

RosieTheHat · 04/06/2020 21:08
