To ask how long it took you to conceive?

Now I know the answers here are going to vary massively but if you didn’t have fertility issues, how long did it take you to conceive your first child?

I’m 33, DH says we should ‘get on with it soon’ as neither of us are getting any younger. Whilst I know that’s true, I still don’t feel ready. I still feel like I’d resent being pregnant and having a child, especially at the moment with all the Corona stuff going on.

But then I keep thinking, what if one, or both of us has fertility issues that we don’t know about and we end up having to try for years?!

Is there an average amount of time to conceive before it’s classed as a ‘problem?’

Are most people months or years?! The few friends of mine that have children didn’t seem to take long at all but I’m pretty sure that can’t be the norm?!

We started trying the first month I would have got full maternity pay, and got pregnant that month. I'm 30 and healthy, but I had years of agonising periods that I'd never let anyone do a laparoscopy for despite suspicions of endometriosis, as I always said I would like to avoid extra scar tissue and would ask for one if I later had fertility problems. Obviously if I do have endo (and I may not!) it's not affecting my fertility - but I'm delighted to start my family now and definitely felt more relaxed for having allowed time for investigations and potentially IVF before 35 (funding cut off in our area) if we had struggled.

Wish I hadn’t read this thread! Been off the pill almost 3yrs and still not pregnant! 😢

Blessed that all my 6 DC were conceived within the first couple of months of trying. When I read if others issues in here I considered we were really blessed. I wasn’t a natural at giving birth though 😳😱
