What would you do differently?

That it's better to happily single than miserable in an unhappy relationship. And that by repeating damaging behaviour and expecting a different outcome every time is utter madness.

lockdown555 · 03/06/2020 22:48

Always take the trip

"If you raise your children you'll get to spoil your grandchildren. If you spoil your children you'll get to raise your grandchildren."

I love this one, and think it's very true!

Judge Judy classic - Beauty fades, dumb is forever!

Allthebubbles · 03/06/2020 23:06

Generally people are doing the best they can with the resources they have.

oldspaniel · 03/06/2020 23:07

Love some of these.
I like Dr Phil's "the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour "
My husband's "gossip ruins lives"
My mum's "never rely on anyone but yourself for money"
And my dad's "if in doubt leave it out " excellent one to remind you to trust your gut.
Oh and "children need love even when they don't deserve it". Think tricky teenagers

If you always do what you always done, you’ll always get what you’ve already got.

If you play with fire, you're going to get your fingers burnt.
Always take responsibility for your own actions and never be afraid to admit you were wrong.
Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. I use this a lot- certainly makes me look at things differently sometimes!
You find out who your friends are.....my God,you certainly do!

You can have what you want in life but you can't have it all

Thanks mum

Beauty fades but dum lasts forever.

Tinty · 03/06/2020 23:34

Two things which have stuck with me.

  1. When you are in labour, the pain doesn’t last forever, at the time it is horrendous, but it will finish and (hopefully), you will have a lovely baby at the end.
  1. Never ever tell anyone your flaws only ever tell them the good things, ie if you have short legs which you hate, but lovely hair, tell people you love your hair, not that you hate your legs. Grin
Tinty · 03/06/2020 23:35

I have lovely Hair SmileGrin

You catch more bees with honey than vinegar..

WinWinnieTheWay · 03/06/2020 23:44

To never compare myself to others, but to be content in doing my best for my own reasons.

You can’t argue with stupid.

From an early boss - it's easier to ask for forgiveness than approval.
