To want straight legs at the top without the curvy bit?

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:04

I am small I will start by saying I'm ;
5ft 1 and weigh 48-49 kg at the moment.
I know the legs with the curve at the thigh are appealing to lots of women.
I haven't exercised for years because I've had a very bad back. I've enjoyed Pilates on a reformer and also I do walk but my legs are not toned at all. My tummy is flat but legs are just really underwhelming
I have zero stamina. How do I make my legs tone up? I am actually really not clued in on this. Is there anything I can do in particular to bring the tops in so my legs are deeper instead of wider?
I don't want to run I haven't got the child care at the minute to make that happen.

Aibu to want deep set legs more sporty looking is it genetics?

I dont understand what you mean by deep legs but if you want to tone them up at home do squats and lunges and some pilates.

Anthilda · 30/05/2020 07:08

Ah realise you are doing pilatesGrin maybe do kettlebell also.

AnyFucker · 30/05/2020 07:11

What on earth are you talking about ?

ArriettyJones · 30/05/2020 07:11

If your legs work (walk, help you sit, stand and carry), and look roughly like most other legs, i would say you’re winning, TBH.

I’m not sure I follow your description, but if leg depth is a real thing and it’s bothering you that much, you probably need a personal trainer to take a look and make an assessment.

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:11

I'm going to look the kettle ball up I want them athletic not flaccid basically

Flaccid legs 😂

I’m really struggling to understand what you’re describing but squats always do great things for my thighs and tighten them up.

LivingThatLockdownLife · 30/05/2020 07:14

You sound like you have body dysmorphia OP.

There is no part of your body which is meant to be ruler-straight.

Thighs and bums are meant to be curvy and stick out and jiggle.

I mean this nicely but you might want to have a think about how much thoughts of your body image have taken over your life. Come off Instagram and contact your GP.

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:14

I just feel like I am not toned and my legs bother me the most

If you want athletic legs then surely you want more curve not less?
If you want to lose fat, caloric deficit (but remember you can't choose where the fat goes from - you might lose your boobs and still have fat on the thighs)
If you want to be more muscular then squat with weights.

Destroyedpeople · 30/05/2020 07:19

I am sure you look fine and don't have 'flaccid ' legs. And women are supposed to be curved not 'straight'.
If you want to tone more go cycling walking or swimming. But please stop looking at yourself so critically.

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:19

I've got size a boobs and I feel out of proportion

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:20

They look like Willy's

Put down the beauty magazines, stop comparing yourself to completely retouched images of humans who aren't even real.

Then go grab a bike and have some fun. It does wonders for my legs. (Won't make the perfect though - that's all in your head)

CherryValanc · 30/05/2020 07:23

Do you mean you want a noticeable thigh gap?

CodenameVillanelle · 30/05/2020 07:24

I've just re read your OP and I think I get what you mean. You want less fat on your thighs and more muscle. That's not an easy thing to achieve and you won't get it with body weight exercise alone. As I say it requires weighted exercises to build muscle and caloric deficit to lose fat - a combination that even body builders struggle with. Focus on exercise and don't worry what your thighs look like as long as they are strong and healthy.

RhymesWithOrange · 30/05/2020 07:25

Women are often genetically predisposed to carry fat below the waist.

Toned is just another way of saying losing fat and revealing / increasing muscle. You can't tone fat.

You might possibly get some results with targeted exercise, low carb and BioPrint but you are a healthy weight so how much of this is about vanity or poor self image?

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:25

@CherryValanc I have a gap it's not so much that
I want to tone my legs but they are just like two willies

I'm basically fine on the top with lame legs

OP posts:
cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:26

I think a degree of vanity and shitty self imagine
I don't anticipate my weight coming down
I will be in a calorie over load from wine at the mo otherwise I would say I break even
We are really into food
In fact ive just launched a food business

Ha ha flaccid willy legs op is how I would describe my jiggly bits at the thigh.

I've just purchased an all over an and body trainer thingy with excellent reviews.
Folds up to put away and people are doing 10 mins a time max a couple of times a day.

Can't wait for it to arrive Grin

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:29

@relievedlady what's it called
I want one

Redleathertrousers · 30/05/2020 07:30

Squats, kettlebells, lunges, whilst holding heavy weights, mix in some running (uphill).

mistermagpie · 30/05/2020 07:34

You've made me laugh OP!

I think I know what you mean though. I'm a runner and my quad and hamstring muscles are quite developed so to look at my legs it's almost that they are bigger front to back (side view) than they are side to side (from the front view). That probably makes no sense but your 'willy legs' didn't much either!

I think some of that stuff is genetic but I run and have more recently started strength training with lots of weighted squats and lunges. I'd start there.

PrincessBuggerPants · 30/05/2020 07:35

Do you mean saddle bags? They are part of your shape I'm afraid, and are a bit more prominent on shorter people. I'm 5'2'' and have them.

If anything 'toning up' makes them bigger, as they are, at least in part, muscle.

relievedlady · 30/05/2020 07:36

@cultkid not sure I'm allowed to promote things here.
I will try and pm details to you

novacaneforthepain · 30/05/2020 07:41

Flaccid willy legs... you've made my morning 🤣

Can we have a pic?
