To want straight legs at the top without the curvy bit?

I am small I will start by saying I'm ;
5ft 1 and weigh 48-49 kg at the moment.
I know the legs with the curve at the thigh are appealing to lots of women.
I haven't exercised for years because I've had a very bad back. I've enjoyed Pilates on a reformer and also I do walk but my legs are not toned at all. My tummy is flat but legs are just really underwhelming
I have zero stamina. How do I make my legs tone up? I am actually really not clued in on this. Is there anything I can do in particular to bring the tops in so my legs are deeper instead of wider?
I don't want to run I haven't got the child care at the minute to make that happen.

Aibu to want deep set legs more sporty looking is it genetics?

OP.... I'm not sure what it is you're after.... however, at 48kg for your height that doesn't give you any room to lose fat etc...
May I suggest that you look in the mirror, look at yourself and what you like about yourself.... think about why you don't like certain things and perhaps look to change (if at all) by building some more muscle...
I'm 5'2" and 66kg ... also flat stomach but years ago I embraced the fact that I would never be ultraslim and for 25 years have focused on being strong and muscular... I do carry body fat so while looking athletic, I don't have the hard competition bodybuilder look... but I wear a size 10 clothing and I'm happy in myself...
Work with what you have 🙂

@cultkid have pmed you

Socksey · 30/05/2020 07:43

Btw.... it's hard for most women to build significant amounts of muscle.... so squats and similar are your friend... heavy squats... that will give tone to your legs and I assure you won't build enormous legs

Branleuse · 30/05/2020 07:45

Do squats and lunges to build muscle, but also unless you are seriously athletic, you wont have athlete legs.
Im sure they look absolutely fine

Alialialiali · 30/05/2020 07:45

Just go online, choose an avatar you like... shape it how you want and never let people meet you in person. Be happy.

Nottherealslimshady · 30/05/2020 07:45

No idea what you're talking about but squats tone legs.

Igtg · 30/05/2020 07:50

I don’t know what you mean by legs with the curve at the thigh (is that your legs or what you want?) nor what you mean by bringing the tops in. And by willy legs, do you mean just dangling in the wind? Do you have a picture of what you want to achieve?

frumpety · 30/05/2020 07:51

I would be wary of starting kettle bells if you have had a very bad back tbh. How often have you been doing the Pilates ? You mention you have no stamina , what do you mean by that ? Do you get out of breath , your muscles hurt ? what exercise are you trying to do ?

The bad back thing worries me, could you contact a qualified PT and pay for some advice/sessions to get you safely started off on the right track ?

cultkid · 30/05/2020 07:52

@mistermagpie

That's EXACTLY what I mean

relievedlady · 30/05/2020 08:01

@Elmo311

The bit at the back is what I want to try and tone Aswell as upper legs and to just tame the wobbly bits

Upper body never been a problem for me just lower

Mucklowe · 30/05/2020 08:03

This is ridiculous. Just be glad you have legs that work, and stop being so vain/petty.

Applepipsx · 30/05/2020 08:06

I have "runners" legs. Always have. I'm basically not fat. Not dainty. Not toned but when I'm wearing clothes my legs look strong. For years I've hated it. I don't look good in skinnies. Highlights my short heavy legs. But I've finally discovered black jeggings and I'm happy.

I walk loads when coronavirus isn't ruling and I think I honestly can't change my leg shape now. Its the way Im made. They can be as they are or even bigger if I work out. But they won't go smaller.

MaggieAndHopey · 30/05/2020 08:06

There is no such thing as 'toning'. There is losing fat, and/or building muscle.

TheStuffedPenguin · 30/05/2020 08:07

@cultkid

I want to tone my legs but they are just like two willies

Of course "penis legs" why didn't you just say so ? Grin

Redwinestillfine · 30/05/2020 08:11

I had no idea other people spent time worrying about what their legs looked like! Mumsnet teaches me something new every day. Good luck op, I hope you make peace with your body. Try to live it, it's with you for life and can do amazing things.

relievedlady · 30/05/2020 08:11

@Mucklowe so you've never ever had any areas you've wanted to tweak for yourself?

Never dieted or deliberate cut foods out to slim down?

I take it you just chuck on whatever clothes you find because it would be vain to actually want to feel good about yourself?

And you never get hair coloured/cut etc etc. All the same type of thing no?

Quarantimespringclean · 30/05/2020 08:11

@cultkid. Being ‘really into food’ often goes hand in hand with eating disorders. I speak from bitter experience - a lot of anorexics are feeders, keen to give other people the food they deny themselves.

If you want an athletic build, adopt an athletes life style. That will require eating a lot as your body will need extra fuel to support the training regime. You will be able to build the muscle you want but that extra muscle will make you heavier. I suspect you won’t want that.

relievedlady · 30/05/2020 08:12

I'm really into food but I have no eating disorder

butterpuffed · 30/05/2020 08:13

I wouldn't choose to have legs like willies , does it mean you pee out of your feet Shock
