80's if they want education staff to have the app then they'll have to provide a smartphone with Bluetooth to them. It is not part of the job requirement to have such equipment.

The80sweregreat · 27/05/2020 20:41

James o Brian on Twitter was getting excited about MPs having a go at Boris.
40 is not enough : Boris is safe because of Brexit and this virus still going around and a big majority.
Brexit needs to be sorted and MPs like mine won't condone this because they know that Boris needs DC to get anywhere with the next big problem heading our way.

solieltoday · 27/05/2020 20:42

None of my family will be using this app. I would have complied without hesitation before all this.

Even if Robert Cummings did call in a favour or two why not? If you know people and your concerned about your safety then just go for it! To be fair, your own safety is important and maybe people were snooping around.
It's not really relevant here unless Boris did know that he was' escaping to the country .. ' but I doubt we will ever get to the bottom of these stories.

SmileyFaceSadFace · 27/05/2020 20:48

What if Boris agreed to him going or even encouraged him to go? It would explain why he now can't fire him or ask him to resign and why he is refusing to resign. I don't believe DC is as indispensable as is being made out.

2020notQuiteAsPlanned · 27/05/2020 20:51

Penny Morduant is now speaking out about the inconsistencies in the Times on line.
So perhaps the Trump approach will not work!!

Egghead68 · 27/05/2020 20:52

Team Emily.

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 20:55

If the Prime Minister of the country isn't allowed to tell us about his targets - who is?

JamieLeeCurtains · 27/05/2020 20:57

Mordaunt is hedging her bets.

The80sweregreat · 27/05/2020 20:58

Maybe Boris was feeling so poorly he said ' just go ' !
Either this or Dominic has lots of dirt on him or he just needs him about to do all the work.

Nothing in any of the statements said ' exceptional circumstances' to me really as childcare could have been arranged much easier than travelling miles up A roads.
Especially someone with his connections and money etc.

CendrillonSings · 27/05/2020 20:59

Even the BBC has been forced to admit that its stupid propaganda ‘did not meet our standards of due impartiality’.

What a surprise!

SophieB100 · 27/05/2020 21:00

Of course Boris knew where he was. They all knew where he was. I don't doubt that for a moment.

The best bit about that article is saying how they are getting into trouble over trump and Boris/Cummings comments.

The bbc are always known for their bum splinters.

It says more about it that they are struggling to be able to maintain impartiality.

SophieB100 · 27/05/2020 21:02

If the Guardian/Mirror hadn't found out - we'd all be none the wiser. But they did and we are, hence need for Boris to desperately tell us to move on, download the app, wash our hands, rinse and repeat.

Boris can bog off.

Cameron left his in a pub. Gove left his alone in a hotel while he & his wife went to a party. Cummings strapped his into a car to test his eyesight. Johnson won't even say how many he's got. I'm particularly enjoying this period of them all telling us how to raise our children.

JamieLeeCurtains · 27/05/2020 21:05

Boris will ring her.

'Oh come on, Penny, we've always been close ... '

'You sacked me from Defence. Made a fool of me over the Turkey joining the EU thing. As for the other matter, I really don't want to go there.'

'Pen, Pen, that's just not true ...'

'Which part, Boris?'

'Er, er, look, I made you Paymaster thingummy. Brought you back into the fold, as it were. Loyalty and all that. And I'm getting rid of Priti soon, so I'm instructed ...'

'You have my full support.'

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 27/05/2020 21:07

Not a chance of me using that app

Boris can shove it up his arse. Along with Cummings' dick.

HeIenaDove · 27/05/2020 21:08

So Cummings flouts the rules and stays in place

Emily simply reports on it and she gets removed.

The80sweregreat · 27/05/2020 21:10

The Tory men are shit parents arnt they?

2020notQuiteAsPlanned · 27/05/2020 21:16

@The80sweregreat
The clue there is parents.
I can't hold the husband more responsible than the wives.
DC and his wife were both responsible for the decisions taken - the drive, the article, Barnard Castle, the rose garden speech (still cant believe that happened - he's an adviser, not pm!) etc etc.
As a wife, if my husband couldn't drive then I would have and vice versa. No way would we have driven to Barnard Castle and back to check.

And no local child care.
Really?
We had no family in England.

We therefore made sure we had back up.
But DC has behaved appallingly.

And ought to go.

Hopefully Jenny Harries has too after the session a few days ago.
To lose faith in the medics too at this point could be grim.
