Tonight's briefing just highlights the contrast between the government and the public.
And therein lies the rub:
On the one hand, we must, as our floppy haired leader insisted "move on".
On the other, we must, must, must, do what Hancock tells us today if we are contacted by the NHS testing system that goes live from 9.00 a.m. tomorrow.
So, basically, we should put up and shut up and follow the orders (or they'll make it law, which will involve us being fined).
This is totally unacceptable. It reinforces the fact that they are so out of touch with the people they now depend on. If they want us on side, and they certainly need us on side, they have to show that they are listening to us. Yes, we need to move on. So sack Cummings, and let's all do that. Otherwise, fewer people will comply with the new orders being imposed on us. Why? Because we complied with the first lot, and now we realise that we were mugs, and they were open to us using our "instinct" afterall.
So perhaps, we will now adopt the new mantra, move on and follow our own instincts. Because that's what law abiding, responsible people and parents should have down from the start.
