WIBU to wear no underwear with a long dress?

Not the perv troll (check my posting history, I've been around for years).

I want to go out for a walk today. I've had some skin issues down there and whilst I've been at home, wearing no underwear and loose pyjamas obviously hasn't been a problem. But it's nice and I have a day off work and I want to get out.

If I wear a long (patterned) dress, that should be ok shouldn't it? It's not particularly breezy. I have no intention of becoming the Hampstead Heath flasher. I'm just not sure it's acceptable in public...

It involves dirt trapped in unwashed places with no fabric cover.
Wink
Apparently it's a myth. Who knows...

justhereforthetips · 27/05/2020 13:26

How are all of your cotton undies in the machine if you haven't been wearing any?

A long dress that isn't a floaty fabric and doesn't have a slit will be fine.

Lockheart · 27/05/2020 13:34

@justhereforthetips because I put them on to go out to the shops and to walk around the house in. I like my housemates but we're not that close.

I am out for my walk now, complete with biker shorts!

I go commando unless:

  • dress is thin fabric and turns see through in the sun
  • I'm going to be doing any kind of running/playing with DD
  • it's breezy and I risk flashing everyone
  • I'm going to work
IncrediblySadToo · 27/05/2020 13:39

I'm with the 'drippers'. Theoretically I have no problem with it, but practically no one wants my wet patches everywhere!

Knickers are a containment issue. Much less so when I was younger- maybe the steel trap doesn't snap shut so well these days 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lockheart · 27/05/2020 13:40

I feel it's ironic that I've been reported for trolling when the only time my posts on other threads have been deleted was for troll hunting. Such is life!

SirGawain · 27/05/2020 13:43

Quite. What happens if you get hit by a bus?!
Her knickers will be the least of her worries!

Lweji · 27/05/2020 13:44

I think it's on your knickers because they're there, iykwim, whereas if there's nothing there it just stays put.

Up to a point yes, but then I'd have to avoid sitting at all. Confused It wouldn't be pretty with a Summer dress. Woolly skirt maybe.

Lweji · 27/05/2020 13:46

OP, if you change your name and troll hunt yourself, you could be deleted for troll hunting, as a troll and sockpuppetting.

quarantinevibes · 27/05/2020 13:46

No don’t. My grandma always said “make sure your pants are clean before going out incase you get hit down by a car”

PhoneLock · 27/05/2020 13:47

I don't generally don't bother with longer (or tight) dresses.

I do tend to do a mental risk assessment before deciding though.

KellyHall · 27/05/2020 13:48

A friend wore a long dress on a night out once with no knickers. A couple of hours in, we noticed her pubes sticking through the skirt Grin

BeltaneBride · 27/05/2020 13:49

I was commando many years until finally a doc recommended a cream for what was (completely debilitating) NOT thrush - and changed my life.

MitziK · 27/05/2020 13:53

@TheStuffedPenguin

Is it pants day today on MN ?
No Pants Day?
Littlehouseinthebigcity · 27/05/2020 14:14

I'm sure you'd have been fine but glad you found the shorts :) Also find the 'hit by a bus/car/rushed to hospital comments' amusing. This happened to me, I was wearing underwear which was cut off my by the paramedics - frankly they'd have probably been grateful if I hadn't been wearing any. They certainly wouldn't have been judging or worrying about it!!

TheBlueStocking · 27/05/2020 14:14

I don't see the problem.

Probably because it's such a very odd thing to ask strangers' opinions on especially when you say you're wearing a long dress....who would know , who would care , why does it matter Hmm

mrsBtheparker · 27/05/2020 22:43

Just remembered our first US road trip, long skirt draped over the aircon outlet. Bliss!

MrsPinkCock · 27/05/2020 22:56

I never wear underwear. Top or bottom. Well I say never - I probably do for maybe one or two days a month.

Anyway - 20 years ago a friend of mine had a very nasty accident where she was hit by one car and thrown into the path of another which ran over her leg. She almost lost it but all she could think was she didn’t want the paramedics to see her teddy bear underwear.

I have no regrets about being permanently commando.

Lockheart · 27/05/2020 22:57

@butterpuffed because I would know and I was worried about it.

Anyway the point is moot now as it's done.

OP posts:
BarbedBloom · 27/05/2020 23:09

I hardly ever wear them unless it is a short skirt. I especially hate the feeling under trousers

TippledPink · 27/05/2020 23:21

I'm also with the drippers, a couple of days a month it soaks through my knickers to my trousers, definitely couldn't go commando! I would have a permanent wet patch.

CrumpetsAndPuzzles · 27/05/2020 23:32

I would do it! I have done it several times actually, when I’ve had bad thrush.

bythebanksof · 30/05/2020 15:21

It is something I do from time to time if the weather is warm, since I have to walk the dog a few times a week, and never too far from home.

But with a shorter dress, no way!
