To hope this racist woman loses her job

twitter.com/melodyMcooper/status/1264965252866641920?s=19. Was appalled to see this video on Twitter - a guy in Central park, NYC, who was birdwatching, politely asked a woman to put her dog on the lead as per the regulation in that part of the park. He started filming it as she got abusive and called the cops, to say that she (white) and her dog were being threatened by an African-American man and could they send the police (as we know this can often result in a shooting). All the while she was holding her dog up by dangling it from its collar, half strangling it. The man left and his sister put the video on Twitter, resulting in the racist dog strangler being identified very quickly... she has a high powered job with an insurance company. The animal shelter took back the dog, and her company says she is on 'administrative leave' hopefully meaning she will get fired. I was really shocked and dismayed that such open racism is still going on, even though she was being filmed! Surely she must lose her job at least, what company would want to be linked to something like this?

She was obviously desperate to get away from him,

When I'm desperate to get away from someone I do just that. I just fuck off. Not make threats, harm my dog or lie to the police.

buildingbridge · 27/05/2020 14:56

On Twitter it says she lost her job and her dog has been temporarily removed from her.

Stupid woman.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/05/2020 14:58

@NotTerfNorCis bullshit. if she was so desperate to get away from him why didn't she walk away?

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 27/05/2020 14:59

If you're desperate to get away from someone, why would you walk on over to them, to someone saying don't come closer? You'd leash your dog and get the hell out of there.
Not advance further towards them threatening him

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 27/05/2020 15:00

Cross posted with wax

NotTerfNorCis · 27/05/2020 15:01

In the video she's bending over the dog and it looks like she's putting the lead on it. He's filming her. The filming upsets her so she asks him to stop. Her voice is breaking, no way was that fake. This is all fucked up.

buildingbridge · 27/05/2020 15:01

On Twitter it says the dog was unleashed and scavenging around. To be honest that dog did look a bit...... Anyway, he told her to leash her dog as unleashed dogs were not allowed to roam free surrounding that particular area of the park...: she refused and he proceeded to give the dog treats, she told him to stop, he refused etc.

IhateBoswell · 27/05/2020 15:02

She was obviously desperate to get away from him

Bollocks she was.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/05/2020 15:04

It was fake. She knew what she was doing. She made a point of saying she was going to report an African American man, knowing full well the implications of it.

Anyway, she's been fired and had her dog removed so some justice has been served.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 27/05/2020 15:06

Her voice went up, terrified in the call that he was threatening her - it's utter utter bollocks - on the other end of that phone, you'd think she was being attacked.
I cannot believe you'd defend that.
Actually, yes I can.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 27/05/2020 15:07

Her voice is breaking, no way was that fake.

That also can happen from anger not just fear.

Why if she was so afraid didn't she just leash her dog(or keep dragging it) and walk away?

DioneTheDiabolist · 27/05/2020 15:07

He's not afraid of any consequences, he feels entitled to do it.
He rightly is afraid of the consequences of what she is threatening as the George Floyd case proves.

sauvignonblancplz · 27/05/2020 15:07

@NotTerfNorCis
The intonation in her voice changes dramatically when she phones the police, she is trying to signal to them that she is under harassment and that she is the victim.

It’s like a modern day To Kill a Mockingbird.
How little has changed is so disturbing.
To use his race , to involve the police knowing what the outcome would have been is unfathomable.

Her behaviour is utterly deplorable - she’s been outed as a racist , the epitome of white privilege.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/05/2020 15:07

If she had just put her dog on a lead like it was supposed to be none of this would have happened.

VladmirsPoutine · 27/05/2020 15:08

@NotTerfNorCis You also have an interesting choice of user name. No doubt Amy Cooper also counts herself as a feminist too. And perhaps even a liberal.

I think it's definitely important that young black men and women have something to guide them how to react in situations like this and indeed to also those who deny these experiences and go to any lengths to protect the persecutor. It's really terrifying as people like you could be teachers, hiring managers, police officers, social workers, nurses. I really worry for black kids.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/05/2020 15:09

I can't believe we're talking about the same video. She's obviously upset. You don't fake that kind of quaver in your voice. And that was before she phoned the police. Most people with empathy would have backed away at that point. Not carried on filming. I know you're determined to see him as a victim and her as evil, but the truth is that

NotTerf judging from this thread you're in a minority. I expect you're the type to excuse any woman of any behaviour just because they're a poor little woman.

sauvignonblancplz · 27/05/2020 15:11

One man birdwatching in the quiet - the other allowing her dog to illegally stampede over a conservation area.

He acted rationally and fairly .
She acted like an entitled idiot.

sauvignonblancplz · 27/05/2020 15:12

How was he threatening her? She’s blatantly lying- how can you defend that?

ChocolatelyAsFuck · 27/05/2020 15:14

She was clearly faking being upset for the benefit of the phone call. Anyone can fake a “quiver” in the voice. She had enough presence of mind to emphasise “AFRICAN AMERICAN” because she knew that would act as a racial dog whistle, you don’t do that if you are genuinely scared.

And if she was genuinely scared, that’s more evidence that she’s racist. People who aren’t racist don’t become terrified at a black man talking to them, especially when there was nothing stopping her from walking away.

All the racism-deniers are also ignoring the fact she strangled and mistreated her poor dog.

userabcname · 27/05/2020 15:16

She is a nasty, lying racist. She does not seem scared in the slightest - she sounds very pissed off and even approaches him brandishing the lead. I imagine if he had lost it with her and stormed towards her threateningly this would have ended very differently. I'm glad she's been called out on it. She deserves it.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/05/2020 15:18

If what people seem to be believe was true, and she immediately called the police after he politely asked her once to leash the dog, and she KNEW he would get shot (which stretches credibility to be honest - the police did turn up and no one was shot), then yes I'd agree she's a monster. But that's not what happened. He was harassing her and filming her. She was upset and trying everything to get him to leave her alone.

The other day I was out at the park (everyone social distancing btw) and there was a Doberman running all over the place, even though there were loads of people around. Eventually we figured out it belonged to a man. The dog should very obviously not have been off the lead. Did anyone challenge the man? Did anyone offer the dog treats? Did anyone start following and filming the man, even after he got very agitated? No, of course not! Because who knows what he might have done. But Christian Cooper felt perfectly entitled to treat this woman in that way.

DarylDixonsHair · 27/05/2020 15:19

Her voice was quivering from pure outrage at being challenged by someone she considered beneath her. She then worked herself up into a hysterical state just in time for the phonecall.

She obviously has some mental/emotional problems, but that doesn't excuse her from being a massive racist.
