@Jeeperscreepers69 if you're so sick of hearing about DC, not sure why you opened a thread where his name was clearly in the title.

And no, you do not get to censor what i start a thread about or comment on. I'll talk about DC for as.long as I like whether that's all right with you or not

It has very little to do with this incident. The journalists have been after him ever since the successful leave campaign, it is just another chance to try to get their claws into him.

And were they not more than a bit hypocritical in the way they were acting around his home?

And I don't recall Stephen Kinnock being asked to resign or for im to be sacked.

I am not say he did not do wrong, what I am saying is that it has been whipped up by the journalists and mass hysteria is setting in.

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 19:34

I barely knew who DC was before Friday.
I watched his speech on Monday to make my mind up.

That's when I formed my opinion of him.
And it wasn't good. And at that point I changed my opinion of Boris and the government and my feeling happy about downloading the app.

Don't fall into the same trap as our government and assume we can't read and listen and make our own minds up with the information presented to us from from a variety of sources and sides.

JeSuisPoulet · 27/05/2020 19:34

It's not the journalists writing to their MP's to tell personal stories of how they have suffered under lockdown for the greater good and now feel like mugs though, is it Jane? The journo's are doing their job and this is a major story, complete with open admissions of who is actually running our country from the horses mouth. This isn't some fluff piece.

Friendsofmine · 27/05/2020 19:38

My MP has emailed me back today saying he cannot at this stage reply individually so is sending an auto to everyone who emailed him with Cummings in the subject heading. He has said that if the police investigation finds that he acted unlawfully he will add his name to those calling for resignation. He also reiterates that the rules are there for everyone to follow.

Hmm
Inoneminute · 27/05/2020 19:38

Jane, they were working, important work to hold the government to account. No rules were breached .

KTCakes · 27/05/2020 19:44

Its totally clear that it’s just the Lefties stirring things up to try and discredit the ruling government.

JaneEB · 27/05/2020 19:45

Social distancing rules were most definitely breached, did you not watch the rabble?

JaneEB · 27/05/2020 19:46

And why hasn't Stephen Kinnock going to see his father been in the news as much?

Inoneminute · 27/05/2020 19:47

Becuae he apologised and wasn't responsible for the actual rules Jane. How many times?

Inoneminute · 27/05/2020 19:49

When working social distancing is required "wherever possible". When you're chasing an important story it's probably not possible. No breach, much as you would like there to be, thems the rules.

Mumratheevergiving · 27/05/2020 19:50

KTCakes you were probably being sarcastic in the above comment but on the offchance you weren’t then please rest assured the ruling Government are doing a superb job of discrediting themselves without any assistance.

PennyInMyPocket · 27/05/2020 19:51

Meh! DC hasn’t been sacked because there is nobody else the lead the UK. Let’s face it Boris is fecking useless!

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 19:53

I voted this government in KT so that argument doesn't wash with me.

Chillipeanuts · 27/05/2020 19:58

To my shame, so did I. Between the devil and the deep blue sea, I decided I the booth on the latter.
Nothing faux here, so angry and let down.
I have lost all confidence in my political
judgement. I apologise and resign 😊

pigsDOfly · 27/05/2020 19:59

It's totally clear that it's just the Lefties stirring things up to try and discredit the ruling government.

Do you include in that all those 'Leftie' Conservative MPs calling for Dominic Cummings to resign or be sacked?

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 20:05

And the most interesting thing is the reaction from my friend - a lifelong Tory who talked me into voting for them Smile

Sittingonthedockofthebay · 27/05/2020 20:09

I for one am not going to move on, let it go, it's criminal, it's costing lives and it's my line in the bloody sand. Cummins and Johnson have to go before they kill anyone else.

derxa · 27/05/2020 20:12

When working social distancing is required "wherever possible". When you're chasing an important story it's probably not possible. No breach, much as you would like there to be, thems the rules. That's appalling

McCanne · 27/05/2020 20:13

The ‘ignore the message because of who the messenger is’ attitude is crazy.

Inoneminute · 27/05/2020 20:16

You want to talk to DC /BJ about that Derxa, they wrote them Grin

tabulahrasa · 27/05/2020 20:18

“I am not say he did not do wrong, what I am saying is that it has been whipped up by the journalists and mass hysteria is setting in.”

Because the actual government are insisting he did no wrong, repeatedly, no matter how obvious it is to everyone that he did.

They’re giving statements to the country saying simultaneously that he was acting legally and responsibly, but all the other parents are not to travel... unless it’s the complex exceptional and yet absolutely standard case of being a parent... that their message is clear and we’re all following it, but so is he by doing the opposite of everyone else...

They’re undermining public confidence in themselves every time they speak about it, and also telling us to trust them.

It would just be a party political issue and hysteria, if they were admitting that he shouldn’t have travelled.

derxa · 27/05/2020 20:19

These photographers are trying to provoke a reaction-physical or verbal.
They did the same to Jeremy Corbyn at his house. Equally rotten behaviour.

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2020 20:22

There is no argument derxa that sometimes the presses behaviour is appalling.

But it's not defence for the appalling behaviour of BJ and DC.

He had the rose garden to himself and a real chance to turn this around 48 hours ago.

He made it worse. The media are not responsible for his words about the situation.

Kentonian12 · 27/05/2020 20:29

If this was anyone of us we would have been sacked but politicians it is a different story. Seriously you go in a car to test your eyesight if that bad you would not get in a car. He was loathsome before but Boris needs him and that is that.
