Brew Thanks for thread, TheNorthWest.

Thanks for the new thread.

The Mem Day crowds have been ridiculous. Our local lake is crowded with idiots. We also live near the main highway to Lake Tahoe and the traffic has been just STUPID! Even after the Tahoe touristy towns have BEGGED people not to come. I understand that people are feeling stir-crazy, but really?

And of course we have Scrotus and his minions yelling "It's all over, folks! Get on out there and GET INFECTED AND DIE!" Oh, excuse me. I meant to say "and parrr-tayyy!".

DH and I have noticed that Scrotus has really ramped up on his assertions that everything will get back to normal only AFTER he's re-elected. Vaccine? End of the year. Economy? Later this year. Ad infinitum.

Roussette · 26/05/2020 07:24

Thank you for thread NorthWest. Such moving front pages

This tweet this morning made me Grin. (Disclaimer, it is unstantiated but I don't doubt it!)
It's making me laugh a lot because I need someone to do this... #lockdownweightgain Grin

'I just found out something I never knew. Someone in the WH team has to change the tags & labels on trumps clothing as he refuses to believe he is getting fatter & fatter. He is so unhinged, psychologically damaged, insane & unfit like no previous president. What have we become?'

Lweji · 26/05/2020 13:57

Thanks for the new thread.

Nobody cares where Pres. Trump was during COVID-19.

Where was Hillary during Benghazi? That's the real issue many people are worried about.
I've had people call me and ask, Sir, where was Hillary that time...

BruceAndNosh · 26/05/2020 16:52

Where do all these "people who call me" get Trump's phone number?
Just off to Google as i assume it's public...

From White House website
Call the President

Switchboard: 202-456-1414

Righto, I assume I definitely get to speak to him?

BruceAndNosh · 26/05/2020 16:56

I can't read Trump's Twitter feed.
All I want to do is tweet "Bollocks" in reply to every single one

Zug2 · 26/05/2020 17:27

The letter to Twitter, from the widower of the assistant who died in Florida, is just heartbreakin, pleading with twitter to remove the painful tweets. I really hope Twitter do the right thing.

I cannot even find the words to describe Trump, he is a disgusting human being.

Roussette · 26/05/2020 18:27

Yes I read the letter Zug2
It's hard enough to come to erms with what happened to her, without Trump besmirching the whole thing

macaroniandpizza · 26/05/2020 22:00

“This Is So Unfair to Me”: Trump Whines About His COVID-19 Victimhood as Campaign Flails

Raging at campaign manager Brad Parscale and Joe Scarborough, Trump attempts a campaign reset. But “Trump can’t pivot to a different strategy,” says an adviser. Because he’s the problem.

www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/05/trump-whines-about-his-covid-19-victimhood-as-campaign-flails

As he headed into Memorial Day weekend, Donald Trump complained that he was COVID-19’s biggest victim. “He was just in a fucking rage,” said a person who spoke with Trump late last week. “He was saying, ‘This is so unfair to me! Everything was going great. We were cruising to reelection!” Even as the death toll neared 100,000 and unemployment ranks swelled to over 38 million, Trump couldn’t see the pandemic as anything other than something that had happened to him. “The problem is he has no empathy,” the adviser said. Trump complained that he should have been warned about the virus sooner. “The intelligence community let me down!” he said.
........
According to a source, Melania Trump warned the president during their trip to India in February to take the virus response seriously. “He totally blew her off,” the source said. Melania later told people that Trump “only hears what he wants to hear and surrounds himself with yes-people and family,” the source added.
.......
But the biggest obstacle standing in the way of a Trump-campaign reset is the candidate. “Trump is doing it to himself by tweeting idiotic conspiracy theories about Joe Scarborough. Women are tired of this shit,” said another former West Wing official. An outside adviser agreed. “Trump can’t pivot to a different strategy,” the adviser told me. “He only knows one strategy—which is attack. It worked in 2016. But now it’s not what people are looking for.” The adviser told me that Trump’s New York friends are planning an intervention to get him to stop tweeting about the Morning Joe cohost.

And when he’s not feeling helpless or aggrieved, Trump continues to cling to magical thinking. “He lives in his own fucking world,” the outside adviser said. Trump recently told a friend that the Moderna vaccine is going to be ready in months.

At this point many Republicans I spoke to said the only hope for Trump is that Biden implodes. As one prominent Republican put it: “Right now the only person who can change the dynamic is Joe Biden.”

Packing 20,000 people into an arena for the RNC is a bad idea. Trump wants it to happen anyway.

Trump’s push for a normal Republican Party gathering is the latest indication he doesn’t get how the coronavirus works.

“The problem is he has no empathy,” the adviser said.

His whole presidency has been a frightening view into the mind of a true sociopath. Someone who is so completely self-centred that they literally cannot put themselves into another person's place. Someone who truly feels no guilt at breaking any rules that don't suit them because they 'deserve to have what they want'. Frightening. And more frightening that he's raised 2 children who are exactly the same. I think the jury's still on whether Eric is a sociopath or if he's just stupid.

About time. But why not just call a lie a lie.

I'm sure the easiest thing for twitter to do is just set up a bot to put. !!! under every Trump tweet.
The Tide is slow, but it IS turning with Fox News finally daring to speak out.

AcrossthePond55 · 27/05/2020 16:52

"Our capital stock hasn’t been destroyed, our human capital stock is ready to get back to work,” Kevin Hassett said.

Yep,'human capital'. That's what they used to call us (civil servant) back in the Bush days. Now they've added 'stock'. Shows that the Scrotus regime regards the working populace as little more than cattle. Animals, with no feelings and no humanity.
