AIBU to say Friday Night Dinner just isn't funny?

Everyone else in my house thinks Friday Night Dinner is utterly hilarious and roll around on the floor laughing when it's on. I just find it so predictable and dull, Jim the neighbour is so ridiculously unbelievable and I have not found one thing to make me laugh yet. And I've sat on my laptop on the sofa while they've binged-watched practically every episode. Again and again. So AIBU or, as they tell me, do I just not have a sense of humour? :)

The first few episodes were funny. This series though has been dreadful. Thankfully it’s the last - I think everyone, even those producing/writing it know - it’s had its day.

Everyone has a different sense of humour! You’re not unreasonable for not finding something funny. It can be quite a personal thing!

Personally I like Friday night dinner. Knowing Jim is about to knock any minute adds to the comedy for me, but that’s just my own personal sense of humour.

The last series was appalling, and i do want to kill Jim off. But i do find it really funny, even though i have to admit i'm not crying with laughter or belly laughing just the odd 'haha'

It's not for everyone though!

What you find funny is a case of being unreasonable, it's just what it is, you can't make yourself find something funny and there's no objective standard.

I don't suppose there's anything in the world that everyone finds funny.

The last series wasn't great but otherwise YABVU.

It's a lovely bit of squirrel with crimble crumble for pud.

We watch it and quite enjoy it but I do think it's completely ridiculous and over the top. That spoils it a bit.

No, YANBU. I really wanted to like it, but it did nothing for me.

Yanbu. DH’s family love it, so we’ve tried 3 or 4 times now but just don’t find it funny.

But then I’m the same with Miranda too. Some of my friends find it hilarious, but I find her really irritating. She just pulls weird faces at the camera and falls over a lot

I love it, but I cannot stand Jim, he adds nothing to it for me. I just don't get why everyone seems to think he's so funny.

The first couple of series were mildly funny. The rest were just not funny. Imo

I love it but agree the last series was pretty crap.

Jim is so funny because - it's hard to explain. Mark Heap is such an amazing physical comedian. I think he was the best thing about green wing (which was amazing) and he's brought some of that character into Jim which might be why I find him so funny. It's his face, and the things he does with his body. Love him.

I absolutely LOVED the first couple of series. The episode with Buggy makes me laugh till I can't breathe but I do think it has definitely had its day.

I also don’t get it!! And I’m jewish. Watched it twice as thought I must have missed something first time.. unfortunately I didn’t.
