I think I'd rather stay at home

I once pretended to take a crap on the beach just to wind up the old perv lying nearby who kept ogling my girlfriend at the time. I got her and her mate to hold up a towel as if I were going to get changed, but then said just loudly enough for the guy to hear “can you pass the tissues please, don’t think I can hold this one in.”

I can still see his face. 🤭

wehaveafloater · 23/05/2020 04:21

My house is backing into the beach ( mid east coast ) we saw loads of people walking to the trees on the other side of road, it smells terrible there now. So I expect thats your answer. I'm hoping for rain and lots of it now.

OnlyThenWhen · 23/05/2020 07:39

And people are using regularly the beach as the toilet

Because. The. Toilets. Are. Closed

Or because people are fucking disgusting? There is no excuse for shitting on the beach. None.

BornReady · 23/05/2020 07:40

I mean if really caught in an emergency, shitting in a bag and taking it home is less gross.

mumoid · 23/05/2020 07:56

No excuse for it but on beaches where the toilets are open, there isn’t a problem. You have to accept that closing them to discourage visitors has backfired horrifically.

MitziK · 23/05/2020 08:27

It's certainly proved that a significant number of the sort of people who go miles to the beach during a slightly eased lockdown are disgusting and they shouldn't have allowed daytrippers before it was considered completely safe to open restaurants and pubs.

LynetteScavo · 23/05/2020 08:27

Yes. I.Totally. Understand.The.Toilets.Are. Closed.

It's a reason but not an excuse.

LynetteScavo · 23/05/2020 08:46

@aliceinsunderland44

No it's not what I said, apart from the bit where I quoted myself. But it was the point I was attempting to convey. Somewhat poorly it seems.

I'm wondering where else people are using as a loo. It can just be beaches.

mumoid · 23/05/2020 09:17

I think we have well and truly established that having a poo on the beach is grim. Can everyone please stop saying how disgusting it is now? It’s becoming very repetitive.
I was told by locals back home that pubs and restaurants will not be open near some beaches until Christmas. Even then, it will not be safe. COVID is going to be around for a long time and coastal communities cannot keep beaches to themselves indefinitely. They have to accept that people from inland are going to flock to them as soon as they can because 2 months in lockdown in a city, possibly in a small flat with children and no garden is horrendous. The most hygienic and safest thing to do would be to open the public loos for them

Luddite26 · 23/05/2020 10:03

What sort of people can do that! I went a week without going when I stayed with first mother in law couldn't wait to get home! But no way could I have done it in her house never mind on a public beach!

bellinisurge · 23/05/2020 10:28

If the toilets are closed, maybe you should take the hint.

I'd love a massive party in my house but when I'm ready to throw one not when you want to fetch up demanding your right to parrrrrteeee!

AuntyRigsby · 23/05/2020 10:29

Grin @Luddite26

Your post makes more sense when slightly rearranged!

I went a week without going when I stayed with first mother in law couldn't wait to get home!

What sort of people can do that!

mumoid · 23/05/2020 10:49

I’m not allowed to have a party at my house but I am allowed to go to the beach for a swim.,,....

Luddite26 · 23/05/2020 10:52

Thank you WeaselKnickers for that!😂

Luddite26 · 23/05/2020 10:55

We are just following BoJo and Dominic's rules! both of whom have gone to stay in a home that isn't there first residence since telling us we can't. Hey ho.

Alsohuman · 23/05/2020 11:07

I'd love a massive party in my house but when I'm ready to throw one not when you want to fetch up demanding your right to parrrrrteeee!

You can do whatever you like in the property you own. Nobody owns the seaside or beauty spots just because they live there.

AuntyRigsby · 23/05/2020 11:07

I’m not allowed to have a party at my house but I am allowed to go to the beach for a swim.,,....

And if the government decreed that people could come into my house whether I liked it or not I'd probably let them use the toilet rather than have them crapping in the garden Grin

bellinisurge · 23/05/2020 11:12

Yes, but people own the shops and cafes @Alsohuman . And the ice cream stalks. And people are employed to maintain the public loos.
Those people are all expected to leave lockdown, even if self isolating, to serve selfish idiots who don't check whether places are available to receive visitors.

bellinisurge · 23/05/2020 11:16

Again, Councils and support workers are already over burdened in places like Blackpool which has high numbers of socially excluded and deprived families. In normal times, they do there best to manage that while supporting the tourism industry. In the middle of a pandemic the demands on them are particularly high so they wouldn't necessarily be ready to wipe your arse for you or pick up your dirty nappies just because you want a change from your local park.

PigletJohn · 23/05/2020 11:20

I live on the coast. The public WCs were closed. The assumption might have been that people will be able to control their bladders and bowels, or will stay at home.

neither is true.

Cafes, pubs, shops and restaurants that usually offer toilets to customers have been closed, or had limited access.

Even locals need to walk their dogs, or go out for food. many of them are quite old and we normally have a good supply of Accessible facilities.

The health drawbacks of having no public WCs have been unpleasant generally, but very bad in the beach areas.

They have now been reopened.

Alsohuman · 23/05/2020 11:23

Nobody’s expecting the shops and cafes to be open. Why would they? They’re not open anywhere. Public toilets are a basic amenity funded by public money. Councils that refuse to open them for ideological reasons, which is what this boils down to, are in dereliction of their duty. If I lived near a beach with closed toilets I’d be lambasting the council that’s taking my money under false pretences.

bellinisurge · 23/05/2020 11:38

But Councils and Council workers are focussing resource on dealing with the virus locally. Why should you assume, without checking, they have made time for you and your little jolly.

bellinisurge · 23/05/2020 11:39

Not caring for my dying mother in order to take time out for you and your need to shit somewhere in private would be a dereliction of duty.

bellinisurge · 23/05/2020 11:50

www.bbc.com/news/amp/uk-england-lancashire-52634899

Simple google search to find out whether Blackpool is currently open

SerenDippitty · 23/05/2020 11:53

People who shit on beach’s should be expected to clear it up in the same way a dog owner would be expected to.
