All the government’s fault. They should never have said you can travel wherever you like. Not that people shouldn’t take responsibility for their own behaviour. Some people are disgusting.

WeeM · 22/05/2020 18:56

I’ve just read an article about a woman who lives by the sea and had someone shitting in her garden, I mean what the actual fuck is wrong with people!

aliphil · 22/05/2020 19:01

But the rest of us entitled, selfish, rubbish dumping, publically shitting plebs should absolutely not do as Boris says and go out and sunbathe or visit the beaches or countryside cos the self appointed custodians have decided it's not safe yet.

Look, everyone, Frouby's finally got the hang of it!

bumptobean · 22/05/2020 19:02

Southend toilets were open as normal Smile

Glitterbug76 · 22/05/2020 19:05

@Francina670
Are you going to stand in there and clean the loos then ??
I think it’s absolutely ludicrous that people are driving that far that they are not close to the loos !!
Please be careful when using the word discrimination as I’m sure that the people I know including parents whose children have cancer or life limiting conditions are shielding because.

Cantfindafreeusername · 22/05/2020 19:09

I mean of course it could never be a ‘local’ shitting in someone’s garden could it?

Glitterbug76 · 22/05/2020 19:09

Sorry pressed post to early , what I am pertaining to is our life’s arnt amazing atm but please think about those who can’t even go for a walk, go to the shops because they are shielding.

HermioneWeasley · 22/05/2020 19:12

Why would toilet cubicles need to be cleaned between each person? The virus doesn’t seep through the skin - it enters through eyes, mouth and nose. Just wash your hands after using the loo and don’t touch your face between the cubicle and the hand washing.

In the middle of a fucking pandemic where the main advice is hand washing, they close the fucking toilets. It’s a disgrace and a risk to public health in so many ways.

ITonyah · 22/05/2020 19:16

HermioneWeasley I thought there was evidence it could survive in fecal matter for some time.

ITonyah · 22/05/2020 19:17

Also you don't need toilets to.clean your hands. Take wipes and hand sanitiser.

Abbazed · 22/05/2020 19:19

In Bowness on Windermere, beside others parked cars and in front of the church near to Costa. Stay classy!

Frouby · 22/05/2020 19:21

Oh look @aliphil have a Biscuit.

Some people say it's a biscuit.

I like to think of it as a halo for all the people who read the rules, then interpret them differently and expect us all to abide by their version of lockdown.

Without people like you, mere mortals like me and others who expect to be able to follow the actual rules and go about our business following rules and just maybe having a bit of fun at the same time as following the actual rules, well we'd be following the rules wouldn't we? Having fun with our kids.

So thanks for your input, enjoy your biscuit hun. I did wash my hands before I touched it. Hth.

Abbazed · 22/05/2020 19:21

Is it just me or are the rest of you very coarse. In manners and language?

Glitterbug76 · 22/05/2020 19:21

Hermoine
No need to swear !! So throngs of people using the toilets is ok ? I don’t no why every ones been so concerned
The schools are going mad because they can potentially achieve distancing in the schools but not in the toilets unless they clean them after every visit !!!
Come and work in the hospital I do !! And don’t quote rubbish.

Alsohuman · 22/05/2020 19:25

Absolutely. It’s almost as if they want an outbreak of typhoid or cholera to go with the Covid.

HermioneWeasley · 22/05/2020 19:45

Glitterbug

This is a site for grown ups and I will fucking well swear if I like.

People are allowed out. Car parks and open so toilets should be open.

You have your view, I have mine.

Campervan69 · 22/05/2020 19:47

We are lucky as self contained in our campervan so have had many lovely trips since we've been allowed to do so. The roads are wonderful to drive on at the moment.

But toilets and cafes have been open where we have visited. Just wash your hands and socially distance.

jamdonut · 22/05/2020 19:55

In my opinion, the visitors to “our” beach were mainly locals, though granted there were a few out of towners. Locals know where to park their cars to visit the beach when the car parks are full in the summer. As the car parks are all locked and barricaded, people from out of town would find it much harder to find somewhere.
It’s case of everyone doing the same thing at the same time.

MitziK · 22/05/2020 19:57

The beaches are effectively a giant human litter tray.

I'm not going anywhere near one this summer for that reason. They ban dogs where there are far less of them on any given beach - and human pathogens are more effectively transmitted by other humans than by dogs.

dramaticpenguin · 22/05/2020 20:05

I live close to a beach so wer just went for a couple of hours the other day, I think they should have just made our si that wer all stayed in our own county or within 20 mile radius, then we wouldn't have a problem! Everyone has somewhere outside within that distance if they want to go somewhere pleasant!

PennyPinkleton · 22/05/2020 20:19

You don’t have to go to the beach to sunbathe 🤷‍♀️

to wonder where all the beach revellers are toileting?
ROSCO80 · 22/05/2020 20:22

Awful to say but here our beaches are covered in human excrement. They are going in caves, behind sand dunes or even urinating in peoples gardens. The beaches 10 minutes walk from me is beautiful but very limited in facilities at the best of times (2 very dated toilets). Unfortunately it is constantly being advertised in the London train stations and in magazines so is get far more visitors than the residential roads can cope with and many of the elderly inhabitants are to scared to even leave their houses.

Insideout99 · 22/05/2020 20:25

This is a post from a local council to me.. Yes they've opened toilets but only to keep those who choose to visit from messing in public.

to wonder where all the beach revellers are toileting?
Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 22/05/2020 20:31

It’s not that hard. Motorway service stations / petrol stations are open. Go for a wee on the way. Go to the beach - preferably one that isn’t everyone else’s choice- for a short time. Go back and if necessary go to the service station loo again on your way back.

Don’t go to a beach that’s so far from you that the length of time you can hold your wee doesn’t make it worth going there.

Bring a pull up for any kids not old enough to hold their wee.

If you want to go to the beach that is - some people like sea swimming even at this time of year or a nice coastal walk. Those people should be allowed to visit the coast (and probably don’t live a ridiculous distance away). Massive boozy picnics and bbqs are not reasonable.

Alsohuman · 22/05/2020 20:36

Yes they've opened toilets but only to keep those who choose to visit from messing in public

Isn’t that why toilets exist? Seems reasonable to me.
