The cafes are closed. Although according to some idiots on here they should just open because it's easy and a fuss over nothing.

LovelyIssues · 22/05/2020 17:49

Majority of places I go with my LO doesn't have toilets Hmm we just hold it.. is this unheard of

beeetyj · 22/05/2020 17:51

I was absolutely lambasted on Wednesday for having the audacity to visit Blackpool Seafront. My husband and I, and our dog, arrived at 10am, walked 4 miles along the prom (socially distancing from everyone) and went home. I was told that ‘you lot are the reason we will have a second wave’ and how unreasonable we were to dare visit the beach. We live around 20 miles away, yes. But we did nothing against government guidelines. Also - the loos were all open. The person made me feel absolutely awful and it’s put me off visiting Blackpool ever again, which I don’t think many traders would be too happy about when they rely on the tourists. I think your approach is far more reasonable and welcoming.

Chig · 22/05/2020 17:54

I heard they are shitting and pissing in the ocean.

I’d rather stay home, if I had the choice of going out.

Cantfindafreeusername · 22/05/2020 17:56

the cafes at the beach we went to were very much open (outside only) very busy and very well social distanced. Anyone who visited the beach has done nothing wrong... As of the 10th may sunbathing was allowed as was travelling to a destination to do so yet folk are being made to feel like they should be cursed for doing so - not sure why it bothers people so much. You chose your way and I’ll chose mine!

Just because you can travel a long way from home doesn’t mean you should.
Know your bladder, stay closer to home.

Theukisgreatt · 22/05/2020 17:57

Some beaches do have open toilets.

I'm 40 mins from the beach so wouldn't be going anyway, plus I have IBS so definitely not going anywhere without toilets, which is the same as normal tbh.

Yankathebear · 22/05/2020 18:00

Where I am they are shitting in the dunes. Beautiful!
I’m ‘lucky’ enough to live close by and I’ve had people knocking asking to use my bathroom.

aliceinsunderland44 · 22/05/2020 18:00

@Cantfindafreeusername very busy and very well socially distanced don't exactly go hand in hand do they?

Cantfindafreeusername · 22/05/2020 18:01

So all the people who ACTUALLY visited the beaches confirm that toilets were if fact open yet people who didn’t would rather believe that people were just Walking round shitting down their legs to make them feel superior for not going out? Hmm

GabsAlot · 22/05/2020 18:01

stay at home or close by not hard

Cantfindafreeusername · 22/05/2020 18:02

@aliceinsunderland44 as in it was a steady line of people all day. No different to the supermarket queues.

SunbathingDragon · 22/05/2020 18:05

From what I understand public toilets are a concern for transmission of covid and for keeping generally clean.

We haven’t been any further than the supermarket for a Click and Collect but this makes me glad we still keep a potty in the boot of the car for the children.

Aglet · 22/05/2020 18:05

How ironic. They ban dogs from the beaches for the summer so people can go and shit on them.

Cab65 · 22/05/2020 18:20

People are so unbelievably selfish and disgusting, to the person that said if all else fails dig a hole on the beach and shit in that, what happens when a three year old digs in that very same place. Cretins.

1forAll74 · 22/05/2020 18:20

Some people pee in the sea, and some with small children with buckets and spades, do a No, 2 in the sand, And bury the poo, I have seen this done, even before lock down rules.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 22/05/2020 18:22

Yes @Aglet ridiculous isn't it and you can imagine the sort of "humans" that defecate on the beaches and in peoples gardens. Revolting degenerates.

I'm not going to the beach but I would just hold it... I've never thought twice about toilets when I've been planning a trip out. My DS is still in nappies so I'm sure I have this to come!

MarieQueenofScots · 22/05/2020 18:41

Did you visit every beach/tourist spot in the country or just the one? Wink

Cab65 · 22/05/2020 18:47

I live 2 minutes from the beach I have seen the pee running down from the beach huts and also the poo on the beach, disgusting but also DANGEROUS,
