And that most people probably don't either?

I'm sick of the transphobia on Mumsnet, and fed up of how it seems to be fine on here to go after trans writers such as Juno Dawson, who is writing from their own experience and imagination, and absolutely allowed to publish whatever the fuck they want.

OP have you come here for a discussion or merely to keep stating your opinion and cover your ears.

Perhaps you could try respecting the different views of other biological women instead of being rude.

Lostvoiced · 18/05/2020 11:35

@pjj1986

Are you trying to say that homosexuality in animals is due to them having different gender identities? I have zero idea of what your point was there.

pjj1986 · 18/05/2020 11:35

@T0tallyFuckedUpFamily www.stonewall.org.uk/system/files/lgbt_in_britain_-_trans_report_final.pdf Maybe you’ll gain an ounce of empathy by reading through this.

Fimofriend · 18/05/2020 11:35

YANBU not to care.

Extremely YABU for calling it transphobic to care.

Look into the "not like other girls" syndrome.

Helmetbymidnight · 18/05/2020 11:35

Those who think women should not be allowed to have single sex spaces - do you feel the same way about women's sport?

YgritteSnow · 18/05/2020 11:35

Give me one report of a transperson assaulting someone in a toilet in the U.K. I’ll wait.

That's what you asked for. I gave you one. You may find this link helpful

Hi OP - can you please explain to me why it is transphobic to not want male people in female toilets/changing rooms/prisons/refuges.

Do you also think it's transphobic to say that humans can't change sex?

Thanks.

BusyProcrastinator · 18/05/2020 11:36

The big question- which loo should this woman use?

Answer- women’s (otherwise you’re a horrible bigot)

(They’re on the Stonewall advisory group and ‘broaden the bandwidth of what it means to be a woman’)

To say I don't care what genitals the person in the next loo cubicle has...
pjj1986 · 18/05/2020 11:37

@YgritteSnow I’m bowing out now. That tumblr is inhumane, disgusting propaganda. I don’t know how you sleep at night.

DickKerrLadies · 18/05/2020 11:37

It does make me laugh when women are called bigots by people who refuse to listen to the opinions of those women.

cardibach · 18/05/2020 11:37

If you believe that biology is a man is man and a woman is a woman, how to you account for species that engage in sexual acts without reproduction?
@pjj1986 is your contention then that homosexuality doesn’t exist? Because that seems a bit homophobic to me...

Rosiejim · 18/05/2020 11:37

OP referred to “Transgender folk” in my experience that’s a big red TRA flag

Also @coronaandtired check out Helen Stanilands study - study results reflect that actually women DO care. But you don’t care about other women do you? It’s the men’s feelings and comfort you centre.

PinkyAndTheBrian · 18/05/2020 11:37

It’s possible to care about trans people and about women and girls as well.
Validating trans people should not be at the cost of others.

nolongersurprised · 18/05/2020 11:38

Maybe you’ll gain an ounce of empathy by reading through this.

The empathy requests only ever flow one way, have you noticed?

MarieQueenofScots · 18/05/2020 11:38

I’m bowing out now

Of course you are. You're unable to make even the most basic of salient points.

YgritteSnow · 18/05/2020 11:38

@pjj1986

Check out the prison section.

Yep. Hoping for screenshots to emphasise the “transphobia” on MN. Again

Rosiejim · 18/05/2020 11:39

@pjj1986 so in the face of the proof you asked for you “bow out” - Ta ta then!

Pertella · 18/05/2020 11:39

tellmewhen op is here for the screenshots to help with the campaign currently running against MN by the MRAs and TRAs

Gimmecaffeine · 18/05/2020 11:40

Those who think women should not be allowed to have single sex spaces - do you feel the same way about women's sport?

The concern with sport is fairness, isn't it? It's a totally different question.

I'm unsure of my opinion on sport. My gut says it should be down to how long they have transitioned and what their testosterone levels are, but I don't know much about it.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 18/05/2020 11:40

pj there is literally nothing in gindaddys post that's hateful.

zscaler · 18/05/2020 11:40

If a man wants to assault women in women-only spaces, he will, regardless of rules.

This is something that always gets ignored, but it’s so important. Rapists find a way. It’s not like there are thousands of would-be predators out there who are only being stopped from assaulting women in loos because the stick figure on the door has a skirt on.

90% of rape victims in England and Wales know their attacker. The overwhelmingly vast majority of rapes are perpetrated by a family member or partner.

There is virtually nothing said on the MN feminism boards about the fact that less than 6% of rape prosecutions end in conviction, or that most women in England and Wales don’t have access to a rape crisis centre, or that a third of people believe that if a woman flirts she is party responsible for being raped. There is virtually no discussion about the ways in which women and children are trapped with partners or family members who assault them because of coercive control or lack of resources.

The MN feminism boards would have you believe that trangenderism is the greatest threat faced by women today, and they perpetrate this myth by turning a blind eye to the actual, serious inequalities that endanger women and put them at risk. It’s genuinely shameful.

Helmetbymidnight · 18/05/2020 11:41

What is it that I have in common with transwomen than I don't have in common with men?

What is it exactly that changes when a man declares himself a woman that means I have to accept him into spaces for women?
