I voted Tory and I have no regrets at all.

ilikebigbuttsandicannotlie · 16/05/2020 19:52

Absolutely no regrets.

KuckFnows · 16/05/2020 19:52

Never. The thought of Jeremy and Diane leading us through this crisis makes me feel unwell.

Such a terrifying thought.

I've spoken to many people and we all feel the same.

Doingitaloneandproud · 16/05/2020 19:52

Nope no regrets here

weepingwillow22 · 16/05/2020 19:55

I voted lib dem as the best of a bad set of options. I think if we had had a hung parliament we would have had a better outcome in relation to covid with the government less inclined to ignore it until it was too late.

Although I am not keen on corbyn I am sure he would have also have done a much better job than Johnson. For a start labour are more inclined to work with experts unlike the tories who 'use' them to meet their political ends when convenient i.e goves 'Britain has had enough of experts speech'

GrolliffetheDragon · 16/05/2020 19:55

Labour in Wales has run the nhs Into the ground

Myth.

majesticallyawkward · 16/05/2020 19:56

In the middle of a pandemic I dont think you can say anything done is 'good'. The best you can say is something is the least worst option.

To be fair at the last election the Tories were the 'least bad option' of the utterly shambolic choices and election. It says something about the state of labour when the guy who hid in a fridge^^ wins.

Still, I have been genuinely impressed with how BoJo has handled this.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 16/05/2020 19:57

I don’t think the government has handled it brilliantly but I think that every other party wouldn’t have handled things so differently and would have attracted criticism too.

I think everyone is trying to do the best they can.

It is easy to be critical with the benefit of hindsight and when your arse isn’t in the hot seat.

KuckFnows · 16/05/2020 19:57

Labour led in Wales

Utterly shambolic

myangelalex · 16/05/2020 19:57

If the alternative was Jeremy Corbyn, then no.

OoohTheStatsDontLie · 16/05/2020 19:57

I dont understand the 'bit Corbyn would have been worse' argument. Based on what? His economic policies may have been shite but I don't think anyone would argue that he doesnt care about old people dying which has essentially been the Tories philosophy.

The full picture isnt known yet but by most measures, we are looking to be on track to have one of the highest death rates in the developed world. Which is shit when we had a head start on many and a few more weeks we could have used to prepare instead of carrying on as normal and encouraging visitors from other locked down countries to attend sporting events in our cities.

We literally couldn't have handled it much worse, unless we were American. So I'd actually rather have taken my chances on Corbyn

GrolliffetheDragon · 16/05/2020 19:57

Posted that a bit early.

www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-wales-35533172

Wales is different to England, made different choices. For example, putting more money into social care.

R1R2 · 16/05/2020 19:57

Because the labour government in wales are doing such a bang up job of it...no gowns at all in the pandemic stockpile struggling to do more than 1.2k tests a day but wha wha muh tories are evil

KuckFnows · 16/05/2020 19:57

weeping willow

You are joking right??

😂😂😂😂

Lifestyleinlondon88 · 16/05/2020 19:58

Okay so for all of those saying Corbyn would’ve been worse, can you explain how? And I am talking about the virus, not the economy.

And please tell me how the conservatives are doing a good job? Do you not feel the economy was and is being prioritised over people’s health?

The only thing they have done remotely well with was coming up with a furlough plan (with many holes in it quickly) but they did this for the economy not for people’s health, otherwise we would’ve been left to fend for themselves.

We can’t compare our country to others, we can only go by what we were advised by WHO directly and how we directly took Action. It’s embarrassing.

The whole care home fiasco, can you really say that was part of a great plan?

PPE - If they had acted sooner, this would’ve saved a lot of stress.

Blurring of guidelines so companies could bend the rules and keep staff going in or bringing them back.

Reception and year ones being asked to return when they have no real concept of social distancing.

Nurses being told they will not receive a raise or bonuses.

Talking about his brother arrested is neither here nor there, as is the same with Boris dad going to the pub. Boris wasn’t at the pub and Jeremy wasn’t at the protest. Boris did shake hands with coronavirus victims though? That was idiotic and gave people a false sense of safety.

Flights coming in and people have not been quarantined or even tested.

So please, tell me what they have done well?

Either way we would have/are going into recession so taking that away from the equation.

I’m genuinely interested as it feels people are just too stubborn to admit the government they voted for has failed. I mean the leader didn’t even return from his holiday to start dealing with it...

OgoPogo8 · 16/05/2020 20:00

I did vote labour, despite Corbyn.

In terms of Covid alone, I'm almost grateful that Boris won. Not because I think he's doing a good job, but can you imagine the right wing reaction is Corbyn had implemented a lockdown or the furlough policy? I think there'd be widespread protests. Half the country are only being compliant because its Boris.

withgraceinmyheart · 16/05/2020 20:00

I voted labour but if they'd won I would be regretting it now.

I do rate Kier Starmer though and I wish we had him instead.

KuckFnows · 16/05/2020 20:00

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8324933/The-Left-pompous-attacking-Tories-handling-crisis.html

Of course this is the paper that the left hate, but it's no worse than The Guardian.

TARSCOUT · 16/05/2020 20:00

I voted Tory and wouldn't change it.

WingingWonder · 16/05/2020 20:01

Whilst JC was in power I refused to even consider voting labour.
KS has more credibility, and holds his own credibly, which is a start
I’d like to see labour return to having clear policies which you can either support or not. The Greige middle lost the following.

itsniceoopnorth · 16/05/2020 20:02

Don't regret a thing. My only regret would be if this pathetic lockdown continues any longer and it completely destroys the economy

Alymcnabs · 16/05/2020 20:02

Labour led in Wales
Utterly shambolic

Agreed!

Ylvamoon · 16/05/2020 20:03

Not even worth thinking about.

colouringindoors · 16/05/2020 20:03

2nd highest death rate in the whole world and people have no regrets.

Over 60,000 children, men, women.

What would actually cause a Conservative voter to regret their vote?
